Here is a little prep tip that I do...I make an "I" Pot of rice and or beans (a pot each), and jar in quart jars. I reuse the lids and it will seal to a certain extent, but I always keep them in the refrigerator. Then we have "instant" rice and beans. I make it plain but then can flavor it to the dish I am making. It is soooo easy and handy. I am a new vegan since January 2018 - I am amazed at how great I feel and I keep loosing weight (I was not obease but stuck in the 140's at about 25 lbs over weight). I woke up this am and saw 122 on the scale (and finally my BMI is perfect) - wow, I love being vegan sooooo many benefits. Thank you soooo much for your wonderful cooking show. G-d bless you!
Its also possible to make sorbet in a vitamix/blendtech without adding liquid when you stamp it with the stick. It gets much thicker and creamier that way, like icecream. It's loud and sounds scary at first, but its completely safe, just keep on stamping ;) Its maybe recommended to cut the banana's in small pieces before freezing.
Where can I find your Brussels sprouts with balsamic. Recipe?? I found your channel and is great! I’ve had addiction to salt, sugar, just about everything and excited about your channel! Thanks!
OMG!!! I used to ask hubbs Harry for a rabit to eat all of my veggie scraps - he always said NO! Now I am soooo happy that I can use the veggie scraps to make my own veggie (no salt) broth!!! Thank you, thank you!!!! I always buy the low sodium veggie broth, but it is not low enough for me. I wish I could send you pics from here of my dinner. Tonight: Poor man steaks, and stuffed deviled mini potatoes! I am soooo excited to have met you on here!
I checked twice and couldn't find a mention of how long and at what temp you roasted your ratatouille. I think you said 400 degrees but not the amount of time. Thank you and love all of your content. My sister and I have been binge watching all your shows. I will probably buy your book mainly because I love supporting people that bring value to our lives, but I think it's worth mentioning that you give so much info and knowledge for free - thank you for that!
I love you guys so much I Lost 10 pounds just eating clean and learning every day and I just want to thank you for all your videos I’m still losing and I think I need to lose about 40 pounds more
I love this episode but you can cook firm potato’s n instants pot I use stainless steel steamer put 2 cups water n bottom them put paddle steamer spread it out n can 4-6 potato depending size of potato’s. I have 6 qt pot
Loved this impromptu video. I’ll definitely be making some of these meals. What can be used in some of your dishes that call for the salt-free mustard powder? I’m highly allergic to mustard, unfortunately. Thank you.
The waffle potatoes always look sooo good but I don't have a waffle iron and out of room for gadgets. I was brainstorming and had already cooked an Instant Pot of potatoes yesterday. I remembered an old hamburger press from an old life. If put a piece of wax paper in the press and added 1/2 of a large potato. I smashed it, put it on a piece of parchment paper on a baking rack. I smashed enough potatoes to cover the rack and cooked them at 450 deg for about 50 minutes. I sprayed the a little bit with Braggs, garlic and onion powder before baking. they turned out real well and I ate them with homemade ketchup. Yummy!
Thank you!!! This was great. What was the bag you used for making the broth ? I know you said it was from the Hardware store. Have you ever interviewed Dr. Gustavo? I would love to hear his weight loss story. Thanks again for the great recipes.
Have you tried Beet Boost in banana ice cream? Really good! For people who like vinegar and find sweet potatoes too sweet, I like to sprinkle them with apple cider vinegar.
CHEF AJ Regardless, it was an excellent opportunity to see you in action and affected my grocery shopping choices! I already had a bag of veggie scraps in my freezer and this video got me to make broth with my iPot.
Please advise me, Carbs make me sooooo hungry and tired after eating them. I actually go into what I call a food coma after eating carbs! Why??? And I also put weight ON when eating carbs. Eagerly awaiting your help/ suggestions.
Just got the Unprocessed book on Amazon yesterday and am feverishly reading it I will have it cover to cover read by tomorrow. I loving it your story is so relatable I can't put it down I am taking 15 min break to eat and watch your videos . Thank you for all you do.
Oh boy, my stomach is growling watching this one AJ. Your videos are really keeping me on track. I’m going to organize my kitchen in the morning for a plant-based lifestyle!
Question: I thought vegetable skins and peels were not good for broth making because they contain pesticides, even organic have some form of chemicals…….is this correct ?
Three minutes in the microwave? Sounds a bit labour intensive. 🤪 Regarding the sorbet: I prepared an AJ-style berry/banana frozen smoothie a la minute for my young nephews and spooned the excess into some Ikea “CHOSIGT” moulds to have little popsicles on-hand for their next visit. To my surprise, the popsicles worked brilliantly as they did not melt and drip and slip off the paddle-pop sticks. My six year old nephew was impressed and suggested the popsicle remained intact longer than expected because there was less water content like in a popsicle made from cordial. I can only speculate the water and structure may be retained in the fibre contained within the berry/banana blend. 🤪 Edit: Beaver anal glands!?
AJ I’d like to make a plant-based butterscotch desert for my husband who’s not plant-based. Also, could you tell me the name of the doctor you had on your show who’s also a plant-based chef?
AJ, I love you! I love the woman you are and what you have brought to the WFPB world! Keep going….unfortunately, you talk so fast it hurts my head 🤪. As an alternative, I’m going to have to follow your written words.
CHEF AJ Not if you live in Costa Rica. Food items are not allowed to be shipped into the country. Vitamins, supplements, a cosmetic item....the government controls are ridiculous.
