Micah rugby tackling his Mum in his All Blacks jersey was a perfect background for that delicious looking food 😂 he seems to have really embraced the Kiwi culture, what a cool dude 😎🤘
Hilarious Mark is enjoying his steak while Micah is right behind him watching in the tree! So great to always have your family with you Mark in all your experiences! ☺😚😄😁
In 1991, 33 years ago. I spent a rough two months picking fruit, living in a Roxborough shed on an orchard for about $8 NZD an hour. The accommodation was free as long as I committed to picking for the one orchardist. It was a hard way to earn money, but I'll never forget it. Jimmy's pies were a staple back then. Delicious! The mince and cheese pie was my favourite. Also Mark, you should have tried Jimmy's custard square...also delicious!
I was there in 1984, orchard is now under water, worked in the canning factory, camped in the paddock at the back, those carefree days are a great memory
I Absolutely Love The way you explain everything Every step of the way of food ingredients and taste! You are so thorough. So kind. I have seen many videos With other foodies No one does these like you do. Thank you so much for this Everything Looks absolutely Delicious!! This is why I love watching Your Videos!
Second comment but…why isn’t New Zealand on the top culinary maps! This Stoaker restaurant is a must go to! Super loving the New Zealand adventure! And Mark Wein’s never ending enthusiasm. A match made in heaven!
I love 💓 how mark wiens loving our food here in new Zealand and going to different places to try our lovely food and the scenery is so beautiful where ever he go just fantastic enjoy the food mark wiens 💞💞💞
My partner and I live in Chch and are currently planning an overnight trip to visit here and the cheese place you visited In Oamaru. It's going to be one great food journey. Been loving this series!!!
First time I went to the Stoaker Room I walked away with a very full stomach and one of their wine barrel smokers. We use our one 3 - 4 times a week and I don’t think there is a protein we haven’t cooked on it, well worth the investment.
My partner and I visited Stoaker Room in Wanaka while we were on holiday in March and it quickly became our first pick for favourite restaurants we’ve ever eaten at! Love it there 🤩
Very nice Mark, the grilled meat looks so amazingly delicious. My daughter went to New Zealand last year, I hope when next she goes back she can find this place to go eat. It is nice to see Micah.
So original and unique barbecuing all kinds of meat on the wine barrel grill! I wish that I was down there experience it! The steak is mouth watering, and tender!!
Hey Mark, im not sure if you are still in the area but I highly recommend checking out the Sherwood in Queenstown! Especially if you can get a tour of their restaurant gardens!
Hi Mark ! If you are ever back in Auckland you HAVE TO try PLEAAAASE !!! The engine room - Holstein and cremino are a MUST and please say hello to Carl he’s a huge fan Makinndi - Queen street Amano - pastries and hand made pasta La Mexicana - the best Mexican EVER FU UU BBQ - combination 2 on rice crispy pork and bbq pork Lots of love from a Auckland local xxx
I can't get enough of meat pies. When I learned that pies are not just for fruit but also for meat, I haven't looked back. I've never seen a barrel turned into a smoker. I wonder what the story is to that one. All the food in this video blew my mind out of the water. Micah in the tree watching everyone was brilliant. When I return to New Zealand I will look for that Pie Shop and restaurant.
Man i watch marks laaitie grow up ..... awesome stuff , awesome vids my guy been watching.fpr about 8 years now .... ever since i got divorced and i hated eating ....lol .... trust me watching your videos makes one hungry 6:48 😋
Bro, welcome to nz! You have to try a mince or steak and cheese pie from a decent bakery. The chicken, lamb, fish pies don’t come close. I’ll happily show you where to get one 😋
Meatball pie 😅 Quite different from the pies we have in South Africa cooked with a gravy and veg. Micah took us straight back to our childhood memories of climbing trees and just being young and carefree 🤟🤩👌
The pie he eating is only sold in certain places around nz especially more in the south island and the further south the more you will find. A few better and some what healthier pies found in the North island too. Grab our kiwi made piesfor sure especially if you love salt 😂😂😂
I went there just after they opened when you had to walk over a bridge to get to the restaurant/tasting room. I remember the food and wine being amazing (and bought quite a few bottles to take home with me)!
You HAVE to get a pork belly pie if you go via Ranfurly after Cromwell. The pie shop over the road from the 4 square make their own n they're to die for!
Loving this “Kiwi” travel episode. I’m so planning a road trip there. The food is right down my alley! Oh that “mutton pie” just looks divine! But I will smuggle in a few chillies. Or tobasco sauce. I’m a bit of a chilli fiend too. Just not in the crazy tip like Mr Wiens. Although I haven’t seen one Kiwi fruit yet🤷♀️what’s up with that? I think New Zealanders should be renamed mutton or lamb not “kiwis”!😆😉
Okay so you havnt had a pie until you have stopped at the woodend bakery (north canterbury) - corned beef pie or steak and cheese pie. id be happy to show you if youre in christchurch/canterbury
I grew up in the South Island, when I was young it tended to be a traditional British roast turkey with all the trimmings. Nowadays it's more likely to be a BBQ in the backyard with all the family, dessert is likely to be pavlova with fresh strawberries, kiwifruit etc.

You must have been too fat to do this when you were young no offence
Yeah at a restaurant 👍
Mark.
This is really important.
Always remember to blow on the pie.
😂
lol if you know you know 👮♀️
Haha that's a lesson i learned the hard way with those nuclear hot Irvines pies. But they were O for awesome!
The people at that wine barrel bbq place seem so kind and genuine
Those platters are amazing!!😮

Kia Ora Mark! So pleased you're enjoying all the fabulous food we have to offer.
I thought that was Gordon Ramsay in the Thumbnail
I’d love to see his reaction to this. He’d probably hate the concept. 😅
lol I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought this
Can't even stand seeing his name written down.
Me too 😂

I am in love with the boards they serve all their food on! Could be because it reminds me of a Japanese style plate. Food looked amazing
I miss climbing the tree at my grandparents old house it was big .that food 😮 looks so good
Loving the NZ tour! 😄 but there's nowhere near 40 million sheep in NZ, still awesome though.
the planks used for serving are called 'staves'; barrel staves. It's what the wine was made/matured in.
In the 80's jimmy's was my once every 3 weeks pie stop during my sales rep days
Top place that one , BBQ is my favorite, hope you are enjoying your time here mark and family blessings
Bull Creek Bakery, South Australia. Best pies on earth.
Had a couple last week at the Stirling markets. The pastry is next level.
Getting hungry watching Mark jump into everything with gusto!

Does Micha not go to school? It would be lovely to see him share the food with you and have his opinion too
Travel is the best teacher

Have a awesome time in Aotearoa mark, Micah & yin 🖤🤍❤️
If you’re still in New Zealand Mark, get someone to do you a traditional slow cooked Mutton Roast.
Your welcome 👍👍👍👍
Welcome to New Zealand Mark.

Before one year = lamb, after that hogget, after two years = mutton. From the French
I prefer hogget or mutton😊
Hogget and Mutton stink, They smell grassy🤢🤮
@@darksideka Moo? 🙂
Jimmy's mutton pie!!! My childhood favorite
Micah just living his best life getting hand fed by mum in his tree house 🏡😂👌🏼💕
Mark next time you’re in Christchurch please try 5th street restaurant. Now there’s good food right there 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

$5.50 for the Mutton pie is reasonable, here in the North Island, most places are $6.50 minimum for a pie now! Some are $7.50-$10.
I remember Micah when he was just a little cute baby😊
oh my god we have these people on you tube -.-
Awesome
Me, a kiwi: write that down, write that down! 😮
I don’t know half these places, but I’ll visit them next time I’m in the area
The salmon would be amazing!!!
Hey mark are you coming to the North Island?
I think your family should visit Guga
New Zealand. Where the men are men and the sheep are nervous.
Delicious 😋
Master Micah is just hovering and taking careful notes. His time shall come. Master eater for sure. But I'm guessing Master Chef.
Yummy ❤
I spent two years in beautiful Cromwell.
