One of my favorite tracks from the 80s.
Subdivisions by the canadian prog rock group Rush, released as the second single from their 1982 album Signals. Written and produced by Rush.
featured: Moog Minimoog, the Oberheim OB-X and the Moog Taurus bass pedals
This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks.
My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers.
Check out the original songs with the original artists here on RUclips.
Thank you.

I was 13 years old when this album came out. I bought it on cassette and went on a family vacation and ignored my family and listened to this the whole time on my fake Sony Walkman (mine was a General Electric Wanderguy or something stupid like that). This song captured the mood and meaning of being 13 years old, and I was hypnotized by it. Nice rendition!
Wonderful memories.
Thank you for your comment 🙌
My favorite Rush composition. It came out when I was 2 years old, and I didn’t first hear it until I was 23, but I otherwise feel like Neil (May he Rest In Peace) was writing my life story.
Agree with you.
Thank you for your feedback
Lovely! As the Rush kids love to say, "Now try playing all the parts at once while singing and strapped to a bass guitar!"
Thank you 🙌
Takes me back to September 1982 when I was 15 and hearing this for the first time.
Having this without guitar means I can use it as a backing track for my practice 😊😊 thank you ❤
Thank you for your feedback 🎹✌️
Marko - „The Analog Kid“ 😎👍
🎹🙌😉
Love a bit of the OBX. Great sounding synth. Just sounds so fresh and different to other synths. Can see why bands like Japan, Thompson Twins, etc used it. Another great demo by a talented man. Thanks for this and the wonderful tunes you did for us each week. Nice moog too your playing there.
Couldn't agree more!
Thank you Michael for your feedback and your kind words.🙌 I really appreciate it. 🎹✌️
I admire your work in this direction. It always pleases me and gives me a good mood. Thanks!🎼🎶🎹🔥
Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it my friend.🎹🙌

Oh yes. Ami-Synthpower-Sound Made in Canada 😎. Geniale Band und für mich einer der besten Songs von Rush. Dazu ein erstklassiges Cover von Marko „Geddy“ Ettlich. 😊👍🏻👍🏻
definitiv einer der geilsten Songs von Rush. Wahnsinnig viel Power. Ich danke dir vielmals.👍
As you are playing I can hear Geddy Lee singing the lyrics in my head. Being Canadian Rush in one of my favorite bands. They inspired me to get the Taurus pedals a long time ago and I still have them! I can remember seeing them in Toronto. We had side stage seats. We could not see Geddy or Alex very well but we had a great view of Neil Peart playing the drums. We really enjoyed watching him play. Thank you for the memories and well done!
Thank you so much for your feedback. Very nice 🎹🙌
Listening on quality headphones, this was unparalleled analog goodness, sweetness, and fatness in every way…outstanding performance too!
Thank you so much 🙌🎹
Rush "Subdivisions", get in. You made my day.
Thank you for your feedback 🎹🙌
Awesome! Can't beat that OB-X
Thank you 👍
I'm so old I consider this newer Rush : )
Great job! Very well done. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks a lot 🙌🎹
Diesmal wirklich seeehr nah am Original. Top!
Danke.
Love love this work. Moog in action is super cool.
Thank you so much
Super Awesome, Loved it
Thank you John
шикардос!!!
Спасибо большое 🙌

So very good. This one made my day. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your kind words🙌
Glad you re-uploaded this again. Great work!
Thanks a lot 🎹🙌
Very nice my friend, but 1 question, where those drums come from haha, great job. I was going to do this cover too, but I have to use the VST OB-X version haha. You have the actual physical keyboard :)
Thank you.
The drums. Linndrum and Simmons.
Wow! 😎
Thank you 👍🎹
@@retrosound72 You’re welcome!
Nice 😊 loving the sound of the Moog
Thank you so much
Great job. Nailed it.
Thank you 🙌
Great as always ;)
Thank you 👍🎹
One of the best rock synth anthems. Did you program the drums? great job, that was harder than the synth parts I assume
Thank you for your feedback.
The drums are samples and programmed with my emax sampler
Show d+
🎹👍
Wow, I really like it as an instrumental, without Geddy screeching ;-) Jk Good job!
Thank you 🎹🙌
SENSACIONAL GRANDE ABRAÇO MEU AMIGO BRASIL RJ
Thank you so much 🎹🙌
Which chorus pedal did you use for the brass? It's very lush and swimmy.
I use the EHX Memory Man Deluxe here.
Sounds good, but there seems to be a bassline missing?
No bassline is missing. The smartphone loudspeaker is not playing it.😉
@@retrosound72 Thanks for the comment! I'm one of the few % that don't watch RUclips on a phone. I was listening to your tune on my home stereo system. I do hear a bassline, but may be more subtle than the original Rush recording. You are a very talented person BTW.
