Cant help but tear up thinking how amazing he played for her knowing the time she had left. He shattered her expectations and rested peacefully knowing her son was in good hands
I was thinking that too. It was very unfortunate that she passed away very early into his career but she thankfully did get to see her boy become a star that every fan in the stadium yelled and cheered for. That's honestly the most you can ask for and she got to see it happen.
Here I was thinking last night that my dream goal was to somehow get 1,000 views over the course of this video's history and we are currently at 2k and counting just within the 1st night alone....Absolutely mindblown and happy all at once and that's all thanks to you guys! And the support has also been above and beyond my expectations! Much love and God bless! 🙏❤️ Edit: Over 8k....yeah that's just insane. 10k soon? 2nd edit: 60k+ wasn't expecting this by any means 😂 Don't forget to follow my Mavs fan page if you haven't already for more MFFL content on insta! That 1st Game Of The Season Against San Antonio Was All I Needed To See From DLive. The Energy, The Physicality, The Length, The Ability To Rebound. I Instantly Became A Fan Of This Young Man
Thank you so much for this. D-Live seems like a great kid, and he is a wonderful player. Remember before the season; we all thought he was our Five of the future, but we didn’t even know if he would play this year. He’s been a big reason for the Mav’s success.
That is true. And people misunderstand why we brought Gafford in. It didn't undermine his talent at all, we just simply needed a more thorough rotation for when Lively wasnt playing. And now we arguably have one of the better center rotations in the league. With both being at such a young age too! Lively is still just as pivotal to the future of the Mavericks even with Gafford as the starter
From France: incredible kid! I wish him all the strength and force to overcome what he went through…Basketball is a relief and medicine sometimes, so happy for him, Kye take care of this young man!
Greetings from the US! And yup, I get what you mean. When I played basketball years ago, it was mainly because I literally fell in love with the sport. When everything goes in perfect harmony on the court, its a great feeling!
I remember thinking for a little while before making this video what song I should feature and it suddenly clicked and I knew it would be more than a perfect fit!
Happy for Lively! It's crazy that a player his height possesses the athleticism and mobility he has. He truly is a great steal and draft pickup. I'm excited to see how he grows as a Mav! Fellas, we got ourselves a true big man! :)
His love for his mom captivated me to watch this guy.. we'll never know what hes gonna do on finals against celtics. But this guy and gafford and the other center white guy are the bridge thats why mavs has reached the finals.. his grief will give him strength to play defense against big men of celtics.. defense is vital to win the championship..
Dude just catches anything around the basket & turns it into a dunk. Lobs, rebounds, deflections, whatever. If it gets to the paint on the offensive end, he's claiming it.
Guy is 7'1" with 7'7" wingspan, good vertical, very high IQ, ahtletic af and amazing timing. If he adds a tad bit of muscle he'll be really unstoppable.
Great heart you have, thanks for this emotional video. Hope this kid can overcome the lost of his parents as such young age., then he will be a Monster. Dereck lively II, your brothers and sisters love you!! Lets go MAVS!! MAVS are your family forever!!
Thank you first of all and I'm sure he will find the strength in himself to overcome this. Kid is built like a strong-hearted warrior. I know this playoffs will be dedicated to his mother
An old school big man type.. very efficient inside the paint.. knows how to operate underneath the basket.. very good at positioning.. i love how he plays the game.. this kid is very good for me
Call me old school but I think teams and GMs have really dismissed the impact that an old school defensive big could have on a roster as opposed to these wacky hybrid offensive freaks at the 5 position in this guard-and shooting-inflated era of basketball. People forget that the priority for any true big is to protect the rim, grab boards, and be the last line of defense when no one else is able to play as physical. We are seeing that now with Lively II. AND he just broke a NBA HISTORIC RECORD for highest +/- in a playoff series by a rookie at +71 vs OKC. And now he's at +87 in TOTAL in the postseason and +19 in his first game against one of the most historically greatest defenses against Minnesota in Game 1. AND HE'S JUST A ROOKIE AT 20 YEARS OLD! He can't even drink alcohol 😂 In other words, no OTHER word describes him better than...IMPACT
If I make another video soon, it's because of you because people need to actually understand how good this kid is and not just look at the box score stats.
@@ElectricToucan man look at this kid he is very effective.. like he's been playing very long with his.. he knows how to connect with his teammate.. hope this kind of talent got a well deserve appreciation in this era.. i love watching how the kid plays..
Technically that was real live footage from the AAC arena in Dallas when they took a moment to honor his loss with everyone in the stadium but much love!
He has been instrumental this season. Sky is the limit for him, he's still just a kid, it's astonishing that a rookie has that kind of an impact on a legit contender. I wish him only the best, not only cause I'm a Mav, but also because it's what he deserves after all he went through.
And at least a 6-7 min highlight reel from the postseason alone too. One of the greatest rookies in postseason history (judging by +/-) as he is right behind Manu Ginobili
What’s crazy is that lively was what the thunder needed against Dallas these playoffs. Chet wasn’t enough. They asked Holmes to play offense, defense, and get rebounds for a whole series 😅
Mavs knew that they would still get Lively at the 12th pick, so they traded with OKC 2 spots down because they really wanted our pick. Except they had to take Bertans if they wanted it that bad 😁
they raised a great young man. RIP Kathy & Dereck.
RIP Kathy!! D Live is that guy I could have never imagined he would be so good as a rookie. Heres to hoping he has a great career with the Mavs!!
Cant help but tear up thinking how amazing he played for her knowing the time she had left. He shattered her expectations and rested peacefully knowing her son was in good hands
Lively has developed so fast it's crazy. I'm so glad he got to have a great rookie season that his mom got to watch.
I was thinking that too. It was very unfortunate that she passed away very early into his career but she thankfully did get to see her boy become a star that every fan in the stadium yelled and cheered for. That's honestly the most you can ask for and she got to see it happen.

One of most athletic 7'2" I've seen
One of the most enyojable rookies, i have witnessed during all my years watching the NBA! Dallas needs you! Greetings from your fans from germany!

Same! As soon as I saw that first dunk, I knew Dallas had someone special. So happy we drafted him
Todo en mundo fue a ver a Wenbayama pero lively le enseñó que venía fuerte y se ha hecho tremendo jugador en poco tiempo siempre mavs
Those defensive stops are insane. This rook is fearless. Hope they win the title this year!
It's definitely possible!!!
The idea that he could win a championship makes me tear up every time. You know he’s just gonna fall apart after winning and he has every right.
Lively is a super player. His mother made an excelent man😢😢😢
Believe me, this young man will be famous ❤

rest in piece Mrs Drysdale, you are the real mvp
He really lives up to that last name🚀
From Dominican Republic we enjoy with DM and our favorite rockie player
Very good video, I also felt my emotions being stirred up. Thanks
Go Mavs
Such an amazing and beautiful video. This is bigger than basketball and thoughts and prayers to those who have been affected by Cancer.
Thank you! And it definitely is!
Respect!!!

Excellent Video and Tribute💪🏽👑💯

I do have some ideas in mind for future videos but I'm just improvising this as I go 😅
Bros a Monsterer mann😤🐴💙
Dereck sẽ thành công ở Dallas, mong là đội hình sẽ không mất đi những cầu thủ như vậy

Great video indeed. Go Lively!
Thank you! Go D-live!
And now he is in the NBA Finals as a Rookie. I hope Dalles will win vs Celtics
that makes me so sad to hear her say she was honored to be his mother. rest in peace...
Heartwarming,... dereck will be one of the best centers in NBA,
Good positioning and movement without the ball. Good outside defender too for his size.
He will be a DPOY one day!!!
Subbed!
Much appreciated! 🙏
What’s crazy is that lively was what the thunder needed against Dallas these playoffs. Chet wasn’t enough. They asked Holmes to play offense, defense, and get rebounds for a whole series 😅
I mean Chet is still great for OKC, but they really fumbled taking Wallace over Lively. That's for certain
I hope he stay at dallas till he retire !
Hopefully so!
First time I saw this trade to Dallas, I was like, they found their next Tyson Chandler
Wow nice move🎉
Love this video definitely getting a like fa it
Hi nice video 👍👍
If he knows how to Skyhook…. And Hakeem’s footwork…. Anyway, eat healthy, live healthy and he will go far.
He is like young Pau Gasol without midrange
He is the rockie of the year, dont wenby
I thought mavs drafted lively...damn
Mavs be hittin licks fareal
Mavs knew that they would still get Lively at the 12th pick, so they traded with OKC 2 spots down because they really wanted our pick. Except they had to take Bertans if they wanted it that bad 😁
@ElectricToucan wow haha mark Cuban a shark fareal huh
@@super.17- Nah thats the Nico Harrison treatment. He's the real mastermind behind the Dallas Mavericks since we got rid of Donnie Nelson
@ElectricToucan right Nico Harris you sho right!
Two hand dunking like Kenyon in his hays
Lively Lost his father and her mother ???😢😢 Nooo
Yeah. And at a very young age too unfortunately. Kid's been through a lot. But he's making his parents proud that's for sure!
😢@@ElectricToucan
he blocks dunks while on tiptoes, thats what 7ft ++ gives you. i love centers over 7ft at least real seven ft is ok . i dont like 6.11.
His mom was suffering from Cancer?
Unfortunately yes.
chandler is rubbing off Dlive
The second coming haha. And if youre asking me, he's got a higher ceiling than Chandler as long as he keeps improving his physical fitness
He is better than wenbenyama
I wish Denver could trade for him....
We had to tank at the end of a season literally just for him in order to retain the pick. It might be a high ask if anyone wants him at this point 😅
@@ElectricToucan Literally the missing piece for Denver :( :(
What you're missing is a good bench. @@JJ-vp3bd
@@JJ-vp3bdatleast yall won the championship atleast once, and Mavs haven't won a single one yet with the new guys
