You are my life saviour for absolutely everything regarding nail. I appreciate you so much and also I'm incredibly thankful for your dedication, thoroughness, attention to details etc. You are A-MA-ZING!!!
Omg you are dropping gems but the way you speak is literally perfect. I have a hearing impairment and I don't need to use captions with your videos that is how clear you speak!
Thanks so much for making this series Liz. Your tips are perfect for a non trained self taught who just loves doing my own nails. I have learned so much for you already. You are a great teacher, everything explain well and easy to understand.
I’m a first timer due to quarantine and I’m looking at the bubbles in my gel as we speak. Very informative video. I can tell how knowledgeable you are!
1) your make up looks fabulous! 2) I loved listening to you. You really know your stuff. And you share information clearly and succinctly. 3) you also share info without attitude. Kind of uncommon but very cool and it makes grasping what you’re teaching much easier. 4) I like how you repeat the info your sharing. Some people talk fast and it’s easy to miss things. You repeat things at least twice and that helps to make sure your audience is absorbing what you’re sharing. Great job! I look forward to watching more of your vids! Thank you!!!
Also a quick tip in case it helps someone . If you use the homemade nail cleanser from this page . Make sure you let that cleanser fully dry before applying any gel polish (I like to wait at least a minute ). I couldn’t figure out why I kept getting uneven application . Trial and error lol .
Finally a video that's about the actual problems I have and have noticed, but didn't know how to fix. All the other videos give super obvious advice that's always the same. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much. I have all these problems at home. Other than the nail tutorial I couldn’t stop starring at your face. Your skin is so flawless. You might have to do skin tutorial next. I want your flawless skin. 😊
This helped ALOTTT!!! I actually mixed differrent brands my polish came out so clumpy! It was frustrating and relaxing at the same time bc i love nail art! Thanks for the tips
Very good information. I have been a nail tech for over 20 years but there is always something new to learn. Thank you! Keeping do what you do to help others.
I have watched many hundreds of nail instruction videos and have found yours to be the most informative ones yet. I love nails and have been getting my nails done for quite a few years. I decided to try to teach myself how to do my in-fills because I like to change my nails often and it can get expensive. Not to mention that where I come from(North Providence RI) although there are many many nail salons oh, I could not find one in the state who did actual sculptured nails. So I decided to teach myself. My problem seems to be now that because I do not have a beautician's license it is extremely difficult to find quality products. And although there are some sites that will let someone like me purchase them online the shipping can often be equal to the amount that I spend on product. Please please do you have any suggestions as to where I can buy quality products without having to go out of the United States? I hope you keep making your videos you really don't know how much someone like myself appreciates them
Why I haven’t I ran across your channel a lot sooner?? Your videos are amazing and educational and GIRL your makeup is on point!!! 👌🏽. I’m not a certified nail tech but I have been doing my own nails for years and you def got a new subbie in me.
I was in denial but I decided to watch your video thanks now I understand some of my biggest concerns are actually fixable. Great information you gave. 😁😁😁😁
Thank you so much for this video! The number one thing that keeps happening to my manicures is the gel chipping. Thank you for the reminder to keep my nails moisturized with cuticle oil!
This video was very informative! I was having problems with my gel polish as I'm new doing nails, and now I know how to resolve these issues for future applications. Thank you.
Liz, it happened to me. My nail came out the lamp and it was wrinkley and made my skin crawl. It was my fault. I used a different manufacturers base from the gel polish. Thank you for this video. Had you not done this video, I would have pulled my hair out testing things trying to find the culprit. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Thanks this helped so much! I only have this problem with my black nail polish and I was freaking out because I didn’t know what I was doing wrong or why it kept doing this 😭 and I didn’t know how to fix it but thanks to you I finally fixed it!! ❤️
Hi Liz, I found your videos extremely useful. I started to do my nails at home and have a lot of fun doing it myself. What if you don't like the look of nails and want to change it next day. I decided to change color of my nail day after application and couldn't remove it with acetone. I am sure I didn't remove all the base coat. I applied another layer of base, color on it and top coat. Is it all right to leave a bit of product on the nail?
Your video taught me a lot about gel polish. I have had all of those issues before and really didn’t understand why this was happening. Be putting out more videos.
This may have just restored my faith in gel polishes! I've been making a combo of all these mistakes & actually blaming the weather. How silly, right? Well, ima Leo, so I'm never wrong. Either I'm right, we're both right, or C. there's an alt truth. Lol. Glad I found you. #Subbed
This is the first video I've seen of yours! I agree you do a great job explaining everything without sounding redundant. And you get to the point right away. I'm also self-taught and enjoy doing my own nails and you have helped me tremendously! The length of time it takes me to do my enhancements from start to finish is still quite long but gets better every time. You're now my go-to for everything nails....Thanks and keep 'em coming!
Best gel problems & how to fix it on line & possibly in the classrooms too. Excellent video presentation. I especially like how you present the problems and fix-its in detail. PS. Send & share the love, and you will always attract love. This is also a great message!💖💖💖👍
I agree on the product brand clashing with another brand. That is why I stick with all cheap AliExpress one brand. That way if any problems I 've not wasted my money, but so far so good. I actually used to use mixed brands of Alie and got lucky with no problems as well. I bet most reasons are people not making sure the polish is mixed well so the latex is mixed well in a bottle that sits unused. Great video!
Only problems with those gels are the ingredients. Lots of people are getting allergies from them and they are not as controlled or high quality as other brands. Just keep an eye on it.
Wow, this is 3 years old. Anyway, I just did a gel manicure for the first time on myself. It appeared to be coming out nicely but when I finished curing everything I saw bubbles in three nails on my right hand and one on my left. I started to panic but decided to check RUclips to see if I could find a solution and came across you. I am now in the process of buffing those nails and hoping that the solutions you provided will work. I will update this comment and let you guys know. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise.. ❤️
Wow this Video is exactly what I needed. I've had all these problems and the worst one being peeling. Sometimes the gel peels off the next day. And Yeah I have very thin flexy nails and I do mix and match too. Gotta stop doing that. Thank you so much, you helped me a lot.
I love the advice!! Thanks!! I do want to ask though, what if all my products are the same brand but I still get pulling and wrinkles 😢 idk what I’m doing wrong but some of my nails come out amazing but others don’t and it happens so often. Love the video tho once again ❤
Thank you I’m a beginner nail tech. They have these problems and I was always wondering how to fix it quicker instead of taking everything off thank you again
I like so much your videos. Because: 1. There is so much information and science in the explanations. 2. You have so much passion and such nice energy. 3. Your makeup is beautiful.
1st of: I LOVE your makeup 😍 and 2nd: I just bought a black gel polish and I applied 3 layers and when I was done I noticed they got so wrinkled. At 1st I thought the gel polish was not good quality and it was too thick when I applied. So now I know probably I needed more curing. Ugh, I will definitely give a try and apply thin layers. Thank you for this video (I know it's not new but I just found it hahaha)
This video was SUPER helpful👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 thank you so much. I did my own gel nails and used gel builder and i didn’t cure it long enough and experienced the bubbling and indentation on my nails. You showed me how to fix without starting from scratch. Thank you ever so much!! 💜
After watching this video and applying the information.... I realized how many things I was doing WRONG! Biggest mistake.... mixing brands!!! I just purchased the Essie base and top coat.... the Essie polish that I thought was junk polish.... just went on easily and flawlessly! It was my techniques 🤦🏻♀️ not the products! Thaaaaaaank you!
It’s by far one of the most educational tutorial I’ve ever watched. Your explanations help us to understand the issues and remember the fixes easily. As everything makes perfect sense!! Thank you so much. Look forward to seeing more tutorials from your channel!
Thanks! I just wear gels but it's good to know info! I thought the bubbling was caused by uneven application of gel then it wasn't filed smooth enough! Good to know so I can say something when I see it!
Thanks for the GREAT advice! I started creating my own press on nails and have been experimenting with all sorts of gel polishes and I can guarantee that I've encountered all of these issues. It's great to know I don't have to start all over if any of these problems happen! You rock!🤩🤩
Awesome, awesome information, as always! I have a friend whose nails I do who has horses, and no dishwasher. She's in water a lot. I tear my hair out when she sends a pic of chipped gel in less than a week. I've told her to keep her hands moisturized, but she's not disciplined. I'm concerned about possible damage to her nails, as I'm soaking everything off and starting over in less than two weeks. I'm going to show her your video on chipping, in hopes that she'll take my advice to heart!
Oh yeah I'd send her over to watch what about wearing gloves when washing dishes? Tell her put a pair right by the sink (or bath ...if bathing kids) so they r handy. I put my own cuticle oil mix by all water sourves in my house so on more able to use it too. (Kitchen sink, shower, bath, even though I wobt soak my nails in the tub just in case I oil up before)
@@nailsofinterest I'm with you, but unfortunately, she has arthritis, which makes wearing gloves difficult for her to grip things. If we can get her dishwasher situation rectified, and her hands moisturized (I even gave her a Mary Kay Satin Hands Pampering set with spa gloves), there might be a standing chance of a manicure that lasts longer than a week!
Suggest she try a different dish detergent, too. Some definitely do more of a job on my hands than others - especially if it has a fragrance in it. It’s not a perfect fix but it might make the damage less,
wow the tips for gel polishes that pull was amazing. I was struggling with this a week ago and was so stumped because I’ve never had hay problem before. Thank you!!
My natural nails are thin and Bendy all the time! Always have been... it’s just runs in my family & there’s nothing I can do about it .:. anyway I cant make manicures last -that’s why I don’t get them ...they come off in like two days. You’re literally the only person I’ve ever had say there’s a solution or that it’s not my fault because I guess most nail techs don’t think I really like the way that you explained everything and you actually know what you’re talking about. I went to cosmetology school to but I didn’t end up taking it any further and die you know I know that I need that’s why they fell off but I didn’t know there was anything I could do about it! so thank you for the solutions are offering and I can’t wait to see the thing that we haven’t got to yet I mentioned. Do you have any specific products you could recommend for either more flexible polish or a better solution ...mine are literally like paper though!
Hi Liz. This video has really helped me. I started to get irritation under nail beds, then is spread to around the cuticles, over a 3 month period. Process of elimination thought it was then the gel. I had a mini lamp, gel looked perfect on top, after testing it wasn’t curing right through and as for my builder gel, was like putty. Has caused some of my nails to partly lift from the nail bed. New lamp now, itching has stopped and am waiting for the nails to grow out. I’m reading this so much on fb nail groups and sharing this video. Please do a video on just how to test the gel for curing and problems of uncured gel. Thanks so much.
I really like your videos, they help me plenty😍 I watch'em over and over to soak up all the info. Recently even had the courage to order an e-file - with the help of your videos I can start practising! Thank you❤
Such a great video! Very informative and to the point and has solved alot of the problems I've come across. Have you ever done a video on how to cap short nails?
Thank you. This is food for thought. I have been trying to apply ugly duckling gel polish in an OPI UV lamp and the layers are not curing all the way through. I have been getting wrinkling and peeling everytime I try it. Followed all the steps. Prepped and cleansed the nail. Use UG base coat. Two coats polish and a top coat. Still not curing through 7/10 times. Coats are suuuupppper thin. As thin and even as I can make them. It has to be the lamp. I am so frustrated. I am an acrylic girl. I don't like gels, but gel polish is so popular now I want to make it work. Hope the same brand lamp will help.
Some gel polishes are only cured under LED lamps, not UV, which is probably what your issue is! Some polishes can cure under both, but most are LED or UV specific. Hopefully getting a different lamp helped your issues!
I know this is the third time a leave a comment at this video but I'm laughing out loud sooo loud remembering all the times I thought many of the gel brands I bought were terrible and it was just me mixing different kind of product from different brands getting incompatible issues... 😂😂😂 I love this channel ♥️
I have been binge watching your videos for the past few days and they are SOOO informative. I am so glad I came across this video. I redid my soft gel extensions and my nails look better than my first attempt put my gel polish application looks terrible 😢
This has been so very informative!!!! Just made me feel so much better about my client complaint.... it put all the pieces together and helped me be more comfortable with the fact that I had indeed done all that I could’ve done to the extent of my abilities and no matter what else I could’ve done would’ve helped..... thank you! These tips are going to help so much! 🙏🏾
Thank you so much Liz! Especially the last part helped a lot, since I always had this problem with my nail curling underneath the gel. Especially in winter on my thumbs and index. I solved this doing a mixture of really nurturing my nails with cuticle oil every day and also e-filing the nail underneath where it lifted. I haven’t heard anyone talking about this issue so it’s really cool to finally hear from a professional 👍🏻 Ps: I also love your make up in this video!💕
OMG! I am totally loving all of your videos so far!! I am a complete novice when it comes to gel nails. Due to COVID-19 all nail and hair salons are shut down in NY state, so I am going to try doing gel polish at home for the first time. Your videos give me the confidence to be able to keep my nails looking good during this time of shut-down.
This will help me so much whenever I run into this problem. Now I will know exactly what to do & be prepare to take action!! Tysm for being a fantastic teacher!! 💟💛🖤💜
Thank you so much for your helpful advice. I’m a diy’er for about 9 months. The last 2-3 months I started to get an irritation to my finger tips, initially started under my nail, then recently all around the nail became itchy which eases after a week. Thought it was the acetone starting to cause issue so with help from your efile videos I managed to remove the gel with an efile. But new set the itching started again but bit worse. Tested the builder gel that I had started using around about the same time the problem started (totally forgot), well my mini lamp didn’t cure it properly, even after 120secs, tested one of my white gels for 60 secs, looked cured from above but when I peeled it off the paper it wasn’t cured underneath. I’ve ordered a new lamp now, hoping the itching wears off and the next set I do will be ok. Though I’m not going to use the builder gel again bought a poly gel to try instead. Really annoying as I love my nail days experimenting and being arty 😏
I love the tip about putting oil on the nails everyday! I thought it was just a sales gimmick! How should gel be removed if you get a little bit on the cuticle before you cure it?
Thank you for using a picture from the "chipping repair" article that I did for Nails Magazine. I recognized my clients nails immediately. As well as my table top.
Do you have a school course? You are so much better and thorough than really expensive, cheaply & poorly courses I know of. If you don’t, 😟do you have any suggestions.? Thanks, love your videos!
I mix and match several top layers since I do nail art. My biggest issue currently is trying to keep NON-SOAK OFF HARD GEL off my nails for right now since my health has been poor and my nails have become weak due to lack of nutrients. 😕 I hate it! So now I have short nail to deal with. But ironically I just attempted to not only use stripe tape and foil with some hand gel nail polish design. In less than 12 hours...the foil is starting to chip off from my "diagonal line" at the nail tip. I know that the hard gel would work as a good occlusive top coat...but on one of your other videos (and you touched on this on this video here too) that the bendy, thin nails...by using the more rigid product even on top, it likely will shatter on top. So, its Christmas Eve and I pray I have the energy and patience to handle the day without a literal breakdown due to (non-nail circumstances, LOL), but I may buff the ends of my nails where that dang foil is lifting...use the cleanser, which I keep in a glass spray bottle, and I will try using the IBC Intense Seal No Cleanse Top Coat that cures LED/UV. I'm crossing my fingers. Its 8AM...so i best get crack-a-lackin....cuz i think you had a hair video i saved i best re-watch. Oh yes...i save a lot of your stuff! Whatever channel you have...i seem to find you. Scary right Liz?!😱
Liz can I please ask what brand gloves you use. They look really nice and thick/strong. I use gloves too but mine appear thinner than yours and I tend to file through mine. Thanks for an informative video xXx
Chipping and lefting base coat is like a foundation thank you I already saw all your tips the top 5 tips clean the nail buffing and re apply the curing issue product right flexibility💅💅

Sarah Harrison that was a good one!

This is one of the beat replies I've seen on you tube in a long time and it totally makes sense and I love it.

Yes should the nail should be dry dry dry. And may even look chalky.

I have been having major problems with wrinkling so I clicked on this video and I recognize you from Zuzie’s videos! Thank you!
Which are flexible products? I love your video. Will update myself with more of your videos. Love how you explain. Best nail teacher ever👍
You are so awesome. I learn more from you in 1 video than I did in my entire time at nail school. Thank you!
AshleyG Honestly though - and this video was free and my course was $5,600. We didn’t learn any of this.
Thanks this helped so much! I only have this problem with my black nail polish and I was freaking out because I didn’t know what I was doing wrong or why it kept doing this 😭 and I didn’t know how to fix it but thanks to you I finally fixed it!! ❤️

@@michelleoss-payne9641 oh my I do hope so arthritis and no dishwasher yikes! I hope you can find a way to help. You seem very kind
@@nailsofinterest awww...thanks.
Suggest she try a different dish detergent, too. Some definitely do more of a job on my hands than others - especially if it has a fragrance in it. It’s not a perfect fix but it might make the damage less,
Thank you so much for what you do! Very informative for a home enthusiast like myself. Your eye makeup and eyebrows are so pretty 💜
wow the tips for gel polishes that pull was amazing.
Love her thorough explanation 🤍
I really like your videos, they help me plenty😍 I watch'em over and over to soak up all the info. Recently even had the courage to order an e-file - with the help of your videos I can start practising! Thank you❤
This is so helpful I have just started... I'm a begginer and your tips are fantastic thanks 😊
Such a great video! Very informative and to the point and has solved alot of the problems I've come across. Have you ever done a video on how to cap short nails?
YOU ARE THEEEEE GODESS OF NAILS!!!! THANK YOUUU!!!!!
I just had the puckering issue last week! Thank you! You explained the solutions perfectly.
Please share if it do work. Thank you. Hope it do.
This experience happened to me as well, when I had my less expensive 9W uv/led lamp. I upgraded to a 36 watt lamp and have had no further issues!
Some gel polishes are only cured under LED lamps, not UV, which is probably what your issue is! Some polishes can cure under both, but most are LED or UV specific. Hopefully getting a different lamp helped your issues!
Yes make sure if its LED or UV!
Thank you! I have a friends nails that have just chipped. I knew if I searched your videos that you would have a reason and a fix. Love your videos.
Thank You! I know this is an older video, but boy.....what helpful information! Thank you!
I couldn’t pay attention because your make up was distracting me. It was too perfect.
Haha thanks!
I know right? Her skin is FLAWLESS and I looked several times to see if she listed her makeup! Such a beautiful lady.
had to watch twice too , your eyes are hypnotic in a good way
YES, right?!
I was hypnotized by it as well😍
Thank you so much Liz! Especially the last part helped a lot, since I always had this problem with my nail curling underneath the gel. Especially in winter on my thumbs and index. I solved this doing a mixture of really nurturing my nails with cuticle oil every day and also e-filing the nail underneath where it lifted. I haven’t heard anyone talking about this issue so it’s really cool to finally hear from a professional 👍🏻
Ps: I also love your make up in this video!💕
I just started doing my nails myself to save me money. This video was so helpful!
No sorry. These videos are my school. :)
Finding your Chanel has honestly been a godsend. Thank you for all your time and dedication to sharing your experience!!!!!!!!
Hi Liz,
Where can I get that nail hand?
Liz can I please ask what brand gloves you use.
They look really nice and thick/strong.
I use gloves too but mine appear thinner than yours and I tend to file through mine.
Thanks for an informative video xXx
I just posted a new vid today about gloves and I added a link to the exact ones I love to wear. :)
Chipping and lefting base coat is like a foundation thank you I already saw all your tips the top 5 tips clean the nail buffing and re apply the curing issue product right flexibility💅💅
