  • The Outback's always been a bit of a favourite, but when attempting to overtake at open road speeds it can feel a bit gutless. No more!
This WRX'd engine version brings a heap of extra punch to the party. Climb in and let's got hunt a Nissan Leaf.

I’ve had the XT Tourer for a week now and love it. I have come out of a Mitsubishi outlander PHEV Exceed (2019) model. The latest top of the range outlander exceed tourer is $13k more expensive than the outback in Australia. I was torn about not being in a PHEV or at least a hybrid but the Outback is beautiful to drive. The power you have when needed is a delight. I will miss the economy of the PHEV which I charged up every night but the driving experience and comfort of the outback is significantly better. I was considering the Nissan x trail hybrid and was very impressed however, the Outback won the day. Great review and have subscribed

Thanks very much for that feedback and good to hear the Outback XT is doing it for you. You made a good choice there as that turbo makes a world of difference to the Outback, as you say, for relaxed and unflustered driving.
Really glad to have you onboard as a subscriber, too. Much appreciated. Cheers. Blu.

Great review BLU, Really like in 2023 Subaru are still old school with Modern Refresh's and about time the Outback got some more HP under the Bonnet.

Looks good. How’s the gas mileage?

I’ve seen people get between 5.8 to your 7.8sec to 100. Actually the 5.8 might’ve been 60mph, but 100kph was def at least 6.1sec

Thanks for the insight. I’m just quoting what Subaru themselves say, and you can be assured they’ll use the absolute best figure possible. Not saying downhill in a tailwind but doubt that it’ll go quicker than low 6’s. Cheers. Blu.

Why does the nz model need 95 octane fuel where as the US model run on 87 plus octane

Does that version not have the roof racks that move across from the opposite side?

No, the swing across roof rails come with the Touring spec. Clip on cross bars are an accessory in this X spec. Cheers for watching.
