    Probably the most complete review I've seen on this awesome pack. Thank you for the very useful tip about the option to put a 1.5 liter water bladder back in the conceal-carry section. I live in Canada, so I won't be using that space for a handgun anyway. Good job!

    Fantastic review, all about the bag and not what's in it. Appreciate you taking the time to make and share this fine piece of work.
    Be safe and be lucky, Wol.

    Fantastic review! I have been trying to figure out what that pass through was from the gun compartment. I would have never figured out that it was for a water bladder.

    thanks for sharing your comprehensive review Simon, i really like the suggestion of the water bladder pipe routing / concealed carry compartment(s), which is usually only pitched as a weapon carry in most US reviews i've seen, obviously not applicable to a UK #EDC carry specification. i hope you return to RUclips one day as your reviews are top quality!

      +Barodial Soul I've had some issues to deal with (a serious injury, some health and family issues, and a distinct lack of filming opportunities caused by a mixture of my day job and frustrating amounts of wind ruining the audio).
      I've resolved the wind noise issues now by getting a much better mic with a muffler on it. My health has started to improve, and I'm dealing with the other issues in my life.
      New videos are now somewhat imminent, and I'm going to shoot for uploading at least one "skills" video and one "review" video every week.

    Another good review! The suggestion about the water bladder in the concealed carry compartment really made my day :-)

      Beowulf Agate That was probably the very first "undocumented trick" I discovered with any of the Maxpedition packs. Given that I don't carry a concealed weapon, I figure it's a good idea to repurpose the compartment for something.... useful :)

      Packed To Live Quality review. I do use that section for a large caliber handgun and the whole pack carries beautifully even with spare magazines. Mine is a grab and go pack, not to be confused with a get home bag, really confusing with all of this tactical nonsense. Anyway, I truly despise the women calling this a "manpurse". I think they are just jealous that we have such cool EDC bags!

    Great review of an awesome bag.
    I believe the velcro on the bottom of the water bottle pocket is there so you can fold it flat when not in use by using the bottle retention strap on that velcro and cinching it.

    First thing, you speak well. You are smooth and thorough with descriptions and explanations. First time I watch one of your videos.
    Secondly, as we all know, Maxpedition designed the rear pocket with the capability to carry a pistol. Of course that doesn't mean IT HAS to be used for that anymore than the bag has to be used for any particular purpose, but people seem to ignore that pocket yet it's perfect for maps, towels, notebooks or as you mentioned, a bladder bag.
    I read below and looking forward to watching your "paracord handle wrap" video.
    I would like to know how you feel about the relative size of the Fatboy versus the Jumbo. I feel the Jumbo is just too big to carry around (unless I am sightseeing-Or in the car) thus I'm considering the Fatboy. I had two people suggest the Jumbo is not incredibly larger and in many ways is better than the Fatboy. Love to know your thoughts. You obviously make good observations.

    • @PackedToLive
      @PackedToLive  7 лет назад

      Unfortunately, I don't own the Fatboy because the specified capacity seemed too small for my needs... but ultimately it all depends what you're looking to carry.
      Don't forget that they do a whole bunch of variations of the Versipacks now :) Each one is designed for a particular type of carry... so, as I'm sure you will, it's worth taking the time to compare the entire range before making a purchase :)

    Hi, Simon. I would very much like to visit your woodland again, as I enjoyed our -6 weekend last year. It would also be nice to catch up. Unfortunately I'm unable to make this weekend due to work and I'm out next weekend. But if do one in December, January, February and I'm not on call that would be grate. All the best Carl

    Simon, i notice that you have a paracord grab handle on this bag - is this a modification that you did yourself? did you cut the original handle off? was it easy to do if you did this? thanks

      @PackedToLive  9 лет назад +1

      Eren Çanakkale not sure how you "show" comfort, but I can say that I've done 8 hour long hikes with my kit in the Versipack, and I certainly wasn't uncomfortable.I agree that I should probably have shown how the waist belt works etc. I'll do a followup video showing how to do the waist belt and shoulder strap to maximize comfort and upload it soon :)

    Just re-watched you video and saw that you had a Janus there. Since watching I've gone through half a dozen websites including Max's and can't find if the Jumbo has 2" Duraflex WARRIOR buckles (like the Janus). I would just like to know if the Janus can be an extension to the Jumbo strap. Peace again.

    • @PackedToLive
      @PackedToLive  9 лет назад +1

      ReinhardvonHolst Yes, it has the awesome 2" Duraflex WARRIOR buckles matching the Janus... and yes the Janus is designed specifically to mate with the Versipack shoulder straps :)

    • @ReinhardvonHolst
      @ReinhardvonHolst 9 лет назад

      Packed To Live Thank you, sir! The jumbo is now in my Amazon basket! I've had the Janus for a while, yet it's no Fatty if you know what i mean, but at least the Janus now has a home. Peace.

    • @PackedToLive
      @PackedToLive  9 лет назад

      ReinhardvonHolst yeah, I have a Fatty as well (it's the pouch I use for my GoPro and NV camera equipment, microphones, ICD audio recorder and cabling for all that stuff).
      Not sure how you'd make a Janus more capacious without it being excessively bulky, though. It's designed for EDC and interchange, rather than carrying everything and the kitchen sink :)

    • @ReinhardvonHolst
      @ReinhardvonHolst 9 лет назад +1

      Packed To Live thanks again for your replies. I'm more of a contour roam man. I have plenty of adrenaline junkie type vids using it.
      At the mo i use the Janus as a water purification, condom, life straw, wind up torch holder, note pad and spare battery holder since the rest of my edc carries the majority. Peace again from Berkshire.
