So, being that she didn't take any professional acting lessons, any upcoming movies with her where she has multiple speaking parts might ruin them.

Tom Cruise killed the Mummy and it really stunk, Valerian just didn't do well (Not RiRi's fault). I think Xmen won't do well for some reason. Nobody really cares about any of those kids (I mean, who are they and I'm not sure anyone cares). Sophie is big cause GOT but really I'm still not sure she can carry a film and she and the rest of those kids are supposed to become the focus. Justice League will do well but Cyborg's stand alone will probably flop which isn't the actors fault tho. Oh well, in the words of Tameka Foster "Not my circus not my clowns"...
What a massive pity about BOTH leads. Forget Rihanna, what were they thinking about the two leads and their horrible, cringe-worthy acting and dialogue. Sometimes confusing and convoluted plot was forgivable for an excellent ending and stunning visuals. But you have to sit through the worst chemistry seen in cinema in many years. I fully understand those who did not last til the end.

The movie obviously had its flaws but I don't think Hugh Jackman or Ryan Reynolds were the problem. They probably just showed that image because that's what most people know him from. It's far from his first movie role which was (according to IMDb) back in 1967.
i thought that at first as well and thought WTF???? *HOW??* that performance was masterful! but i think it was possibly a reference to his old work, BEFORE the mastery. they also used brad pitt's pikey in snatch as an example of "different language hiding a bad performance" - which i'm going to assume was purely tongue in cheek, because a) he's speaking english, just in a pikey accent (which, being irish, is 100% crystal clear to me and i have no trouble understanding any of it) and b) that performance was also brilliant, and the highlight of the movie!
Everyone has a go at Emelia Clarke, saying her role as Khaleesi was cold and stand-offish and everything but people forget that is literally what she's meant to be like. That is the exact way the character is meant to be portrayed and it becomes all the more evident that Emelia's acting ability moves beyond that after watch "Me Before You" where her character is almost the complete opposite of her role in Game of Thrones and yet, she does incredibly well in it

I honestly think the dark phoenix thing with Sophie Turner might turn out to be a disaster. Not only because they made the dark phoenix saga so bloody hamfisted and deus ex machina in a crapola Overpowered way, but because Sophie Turner's -- I don't care about her accent though- presence by itself was so mediocre. I don't know if she is necessarily a bad actress, but her acting was pretty meh in this. She sounded as snotnosed, bratty and mediocre as she did as sansa stark, but actually with sansa it fits. Jean Grey needs to have this timeless ethereal 'there's more to her than meets the eye' (while the irony is in film you'd need to sense that through her appearance and acting) feel to her. Honestly, I was baffled to hear Saoirse Ronan was turned down for her to take over, because I think based from her onscreen presence she could have done a much better job.

That said i dont see how anyone watching the xmen movies..any of them can get behind them. This most recent reboot is worse in every way...but still the ONLY reason the "original" X-Men stands AT ALL, is simply because we as fans have wanted a live action version so long and they hit JUST enough cannon to mostly placate us. FOR ITS TIME. But even the original X-Men falls apart when compared to any number of other amazing adaptations we have had from other studios from comic books. I was completely neutral to the character grindelwald before seeing fbawtft, I was intrigued by the story he had with dumbledore and liked the guy they cast for the flashbacks in the hp movies. but as soon as I saw Depp I gained a deep hate for the character, which will probably ruin the next films for me. unless they make up for it by casting a GREAT dumbledore but I wouldn't count on it.

How can they judge something that they haven't yet seen? Maybe some of them turn out great, they made it seem like every actor got only chosen by his or her popularity and that everything that matters is indeed their popularity and that's just stupid, because most movies turn out so popular because of their acting skills in general. I've never seen Game of Thrones and my only experience of Sophie Turner has been X-Men, and I really wasn't impressed. If she wasn't famous and known for having red hair, I doubt she'd have gotten the part.
problem with most of the game of thrones actors (especially the ones that started out as kids), is that they have been in it so long, and the scripts start to be written around them, rather than the actors adapting themselves to the script. so yeah she does a good enough job in GoT NOW, but its far from brilliant and X-Men shows its not just on the show

Maisie is has been very hammy and one-dimensional in the last three seasons. Sophie is more nuanced and better in my opinion but she wasn't good in Apocalypse. Likely she needs to change her acting style to better suit the franchise. Emilia is just awful, very charming but can't believe she's had 3 emmy nominations and Michelle Fairley had none.
To be fair, Apocalypse had a poor script and director. A good script and director will give an actor the tools for a good performance. Bryan Singer is an idiot that has made only two good scenes, not films, scenes. Nightcrawler Whitehouse in X2 and of course Quicksilver in Days of Future Past. FOX is a company of idiots and the fact that Singer is still in charge of X men is proof of that. Deadpool was their best X film because they didn't care enough to stick their fingers in that pie. All the X Men films have been mediocre. Sorry I went on a rant there. And don't get me started on X-23. She needs time travel to hook up with the X Men.

You're making the argument that because it's this actor's first film role that they will do so badly as to ruin the whole movie, yet there are plenty of cases of actors doing incredibly well in their first cinematic role. For me personally its not the actor chosen for cyborg as much as it is cyborg being in the damn movie from the get go....of all the more tenured/better known/desired members of JL they go with a character about 80% of people only know of because of teen titans. He is going to stick out like a sore thumb and hell he was one of the newest additions to JL in the comics. My personal choice would have been Martian man hunter simply because how other characters of the same look have turned out in the previous years. And well hes just a bad ass character known for being in JL

I actually loved the lex Luther in batman Vs superman. I thought he portrayed a more disjointed side to the part, which was interesting to watch from an audience perspective. I'm glad he will return in the next film.
I thought Tye Sheridon was horrible as cyclops, he seemed very wooden to me in the roll. I also thought he had little to no chemistry with Sophie Turner in Xmen Apocalypse. Cyclops seems like a character who could be really cool if played by someone with some personality, but hes like a bucket of cold water the way Tye Sheridon plays him.

NeOmega i think some major US media already published articles on that. The movie had a lot of chinese money, i heard it from some chinese sources, they are seriously worried about their investment. Also, the studio hired 2 guys, full time, just to stay outside of Depp's resident, when the light goes on, they will call the crew and they will start their filming prep. they had hundreds of actors and crews wait for hours before Depp turned up.
People have low points, but I don't believe talent goes away. Pirates is quick money for Johnny Depp nowadays, but I honestly think he'll surprise us in Fantastic Beasts or any other upcoming projects, and not in a negative way, He's already doing better.

Agreed. Sophie Turner has no stage presence at all with her performance as Jean. She keeps up the same bland facial expression and frowns a little bit and that's her portrayal of a general strong and pretty woman but still Jean is much more than that. I cringed when I first saw her interaction with Hugh Jackman in the movie, there's no chemistry at all. For me she's still a girl who rocketed to fame and has too much coming her way, and probably this is one reason why she did fail to deliver the delicate side of Jean. For example, except the scene where she woke up from nightmare, she seems to feel pretty good about her power...
Game of Thrones actors ever since Game of Thrones came out, are just horrible in almost every role their in. I think it has a lot to do with the people casting them and not the actors themselves though. If you're more concerned with having a GoT actor in your movie, than someone who fits the role, the rest of your movie probably isn't well thought out either.
EsotericSanity Pedro Pascal is one exception. He was fantastic in Narcos. but there are Loads of great actors on the show who had already established careers before Thrones- and will be fine in the future I think. I suppose we are really talking about the young cast that started their careers on this show and make up the core cast, that will struggle with success after GoT. They will forever be Sansa, Jon, Robb and maybe even Arya, though Maisies the best actor of that group. They all - well emilia is pushing as she isn't a great actress but she has been accepted in this role- do a great job with these characters I just think it'll be hard to get meaningful roles in the future.
At least half of these movies were going to be awful no matter who was cast.

Rhianna is not an actress if we're being technical. No one expected her to give a breakthrough performance in her acting debut in "Battleship," and she didn't. So, being that she didn't take any professional acting lessons, any upcoming movies with her where she has multiple speaking parts might ruin them.

Tom Cruise killed the Mummy and it really stunk, Valerian just didn't do well (Not RiRi's fault). I think Xmen won't do well for some reason. Nobody really cares about any of those kids (I mean, who are they and I'm not sure anyone cares). Sophie is big cause GOT but really I'm still not sure she can carry a film and she and the rest of those kids are supposed to become the focus. Justice League will do well but Cyborg's stand alone will probably flop which isn't the actors fault tho.

What a massive pity about BOTH leads. Forget Rihanna, what were they thinking about the two leads and their horrible, cringe-worthy acting and dialogue. Sometimes confusing and convoluted plot was forgivable for an excellent ending and stunning visuals. But you have to sit through the worst chemistry seen in cinema in many years. I fully understand those who did not last til the end.

Her's was the only character worth caring about in the whole film. Heck, I like the bat boys better than the leads.

The movie obviously had its flaws but I don't think Hugh Jackman or Ryan Reynolds were the problem. That I could ignore though because it was quick and subtle and unclarified......but that bit about stage actors being to hammy on film with a close up of Anthony Hopkins was pretty clear. And you hit the nail on the head, the rest of their opinions are now officially insisgnificant.

they also used brad pitt's pikey in snatch as an example of "different language hiding a bad performance" - which i'm going to assume was purely tongue in cheek, because a) he's speaking english, just in a pikey accent (which, being irish, is 100% crystal clear to me and i have no trouble understanding any of it) and b) that performance was also brilliant, and the highlight of the movie!
Everyone has a go at Emelia Clarke, saying her role as Khaleesi was cold and stand-offish and everything but people forget that is literally what she's meant to be like. That is the exact way the character is meant to be portrayed and it becomes all the more evident that Emelia's acting ability moves beyond that after watch "Me Before You" where her character is almost the complete opposite of her role in Game of Thrones and yet, she does incredibly well in it

I honestly think the dark phoenix thing with Sophie Turner might turn out to be a disaster. Not only because they made the dark phoenix saga so bloody hamfisted and deus ex machina in a crapola Overpowered way, but because Sophie Turner's -- I don't care about her accent though- presence by itself was so mediocre. I don't know if she is necessarily a bad actress, but her acting was pretty meh in this. She sounded as snotnosed, bratty and mediocre as she did as sansa stark, but actually with sansa it fits. Jean Grey needs to have this timeless ethereal 'there's more to her than meets the eye' (while the irony is in film you'd need to sense that through her appearance and acting) feel to her. Honestly, I was baffled to hear Saoirse Ronan was turned down for her to take over, because I think based from her onscreen presence she could have done a much better job.

That said i dont see how anyone watching the xmen movies..any of them can get behind them. This most recent reboot is worse in every way...but still the ONLY reason the "original" X-Men stands AT ALL, is simply because we as fans have wanted a live action version so long and they hit JUST enough cannon to mostly placate us. FOR ITS TIME. But even the original X-Men falls apart when compared to any number of other amazing adaptations we have had from other studios from comic books.
Anddd with that out of the way i dont see how blaming Sophie Turner for her role is her fault, is she the best actress around? no. But there wasnt a single performance in any of the "new" xmen movies that i would consider good. How can they judge something that they haven't yet seen? Of course they could be right, but these movies haven't come out yet, they don't know what is about to happen and how the acting turns out and they won't until they finally watch the movies. Maybe some of them turn out great, they made it seem like every actor got only chosen by his or her popularity and that everything that matters is indeed their popularity and that's just stupid, because most movies turn out so popular because of their acting skills in general. So how can all of these be so bad at acting? To be fair, I don't know every actor or actress mentioned, but still I don't think they should already criticize them without knowing how well they will play their roles in the movies. And even if their acting will be bad, the movie itself can still be great and it won't be ruined.
Apart from that hate is subjective, so them hating on people doesn't mean that everybody thinks that way. Few people will always be content with these actors and actresses.

I've never seen Game of Thrones and my only experience of Sophie Turner has been X-Men, and I really wasn't impressed. If she wasn't famous and known for having red hair, I doubt she'd have gotten the part.
problem with most of the game of thrones actors (especially the ones that started out as kids), is that they have been in it so long, and the scripts start to be written around them, rather than the actors adapting themselves to the script. so yeah she does a good enough job in GoT NOW, but its far from brilliant and X-Men shows its not just on the show
Majority of X-Men’s casting are unimpressive though. Imo only both incarnations of Magneto & Professor X, Wolverine & Kelsey Grammar’s Beast stand out.
Aside from that, in all the X-Men films hardly any castings were perfect, and both Sophie Turner & Famke Jansen arent helped with the poor scripts they were the focus in either

See the thing is is that Rihanna isn't the one who will mess up/messed up Valarian. The main characters were casted so wrong it's cringe worthy. Although Dane DeHaan is a great actor, he is just not convincing enough to play the kick-ass hero Valerian. And Cara's performances before the movie are questionable at best. When you put those to together to play lovers, or make them seem to have any romantic connections, you're just looking for trouble.

Maisie is has been very hammy and one-dimensional in the last three seasons. Sophie is more nuanced and better in my opinion but she wasn't good in Apocalypse. Likely she needs to change her acting style to better suit the franchise. Emilia is just awful, very charming but can't believe she's had 3 emmy nominations and Michelle Fairley had none.
To be fair, Apocalypse had a poor script and director. A good script and director will give an actor the tools for a good performance. Bryan Singer is an idiot that has made only two good scenes, not films, scenes. Nightcrawler Whitehouse in X2 and of course Quicksilver in Days of Future Past. FOX is a company of idiots and the fact that Singer is still in charge of X men is proof of that. Deadpool was their best X film because they didn't care enough to stick their fingers in that pie. All the X Men films have been mediocre. Sorry I went on a rant there. And don't get me started on X-23. She needs time travel to hook up with the X Men.

You're making the argument that because it's this actor's first film role that they will do so badly as to ruin the whole movie, yet there are plenty of cases of actors doing incredibly well in their first cinematic role. For me personally its not the actor chosen for cyborg as much as it is cyborg being in the damn movie from the get go....of all the more tenured/better known/desired members of JL they go with a character about 80% of people only know of because of teen titans. He is going to stick out like a sore thumb and hell he was one of the newest additions to JL in the comics. My personal choice would have been Martian man hunter simply because how other characters of the same look have turned out in the previous years. And well hes just a bad ass character known for being in JL

People were only disappointed with Depp because the movie came out after his messy divorce. But if the new Pirates movie is any good (which it apparently is) his popularity will rise again. Depp is a great actor, he won't ruin the movie. Movies should be rated by one's performance, not by one's private life. Also, the title of this video is inaccurate. It should be '8 actors who MIGHT ruin upcoming films'.

Don't get all the hate for Clarke's acting. Sure, in GoT she's absolutely outclassed by a lot of the actors and actresses there, but that doesn't mean she sucks. She's still a decent actress, just not a great one. Turner is better than her, but she just doesn't feel right for Jean Grey and it's not just the accent.

Thanks for the correction, lol. I don't expect Famke to reprise her role. That being said, I'd expect the actress who would be playing Jean Grey to be as charismatic as Famke. I'm not really into superhero movies that much but the 00's X-men had an amazing cast.
The fact that it was badly acted might have some significance. Jean Grey looking weak can be attributed to bad acting or being written that way. I don't know much about the comics but it can go either way, the next movie might reveal which one it is

I actually loved the lex Luther in batman Vs superman. I thought he portrayed a more disjointed side to the part, which was interesting to watch from an audience perspective. I'm glad he will return in the next film.
I thought Tye Sheridon was horrible as cyclops, he seemed very wooden to me in the roll. I also thought he had little to no chemistry with Sophie Turner in Xmen Apocalypse. Cyclops seems like a character who could be really cool if played by someone with some personality, but hes like a bucket of cold water the way Tye Sheridon plays him.

I do not agree on Emilia Clarke and Jesse Eisenberg, i'm not a great critic, but they seem good on expressing a variety of emotions, young actors...that's a harsh title up there, btw!

Not to mention having his lines fed to him though an ear piece so he doesn't have to learn his lines. He's "called in" so many of his recent performances it's almost embarrassing.

NeOmega i think some major US media already published articles on that. The movie had a lot of chinese money, i heard it from some chinese sources, they are seriously worried about their investment. Also, the studio hired 2 guys, full time, just to stay outside of Depp's resident, when the light goes on, they will call the crew and they will start their filming prep. they had hundreds of actors and crews wait for hours before Depp turned up.
People have low points, but I don't believe talent goes away. Pirates is quick money for Johnny Depp nowadays, but I honestly think he'll surprise us in Fantastic Beasts or any other upcoming projects, and not in a negative way, He's already doing better.
I m pretty shocked to see someone blunt enough to agree on the lack of acting skills in Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, and unenthusiastic remarks about Rihanna. Usually everyone is so far up their behinds because of their hard on for GoT and Rihanna as a singer that they only believe they are perfect. On Johnny Depp/Colin Farrell - it is kind of amusing to think that someone would actually prefer one unwashed looking douchebag (Farrell) for another (Depp)!
In one movie you are criticising casting someone because their popularity dropped, in a few others you are criticising them because they are cast because they are popular.
This makes me feel like the list isn't very objective much and it is just you disliking said actors in general.

Agreed. Sophie Turner has no stage presence at all with her performance as Jean. She keeps up the same bland facial expression and frowns a little bit and that's her portrayal of a general strong and pretty woman but still Jean is much more than that. I cringed when I first saw her interaction with Hugh Jackman in the movie, there's no chemistry at all. For me she's still a girl who rocketed to fame and has too much coming her way, and probably this is one reason why she did fail to deliver the delicate side of Jean. For example, except the scene where she woke up from nightmare, she seems to feel pretty good about her power...

Game of Thrones actors ever since Game of Thrones came out, are just horrible in almost every role their in. I think it has a lot to do with the people casting them and not the actors themselves though. If you're more concerned with having a GoT actor in your movie, than someone who fits the role, the rest of your movie probably isn't well thought out either.
EsotericSanity Pedro Pascal is one exception. He was fantastic in Narcos. but there are Loads of great actors on the show who had already established careers before Thrones- and will be fine in the future I think. I suppose we are really talking about the young cast that started their careers on this show and make up the core cast, that will struggle with success after GoT. They will forever be Sansa, Jon, Robb and maybe even Arya, though Maisies the best actor of that group. They all - well emilia is pushing as she isn't a great actress but she has been accepted in this role- do a great job with these characters I just think it'll be hard to get meaningful roles in the future.
