If you haven’t heard of necrotic ring spot do a little research. It’s a soil fungus that’s very hard to treat/cure and it can be spread from lawn to lawn when doing aerations. I have two accounts that have it. It can destroy a lawn quickly. Luckily I never aerated either of them before I figured out what was wrong with the turf.
Hey Brian, I just got back from advertising door to door for fall cleanups. I'm glad I watch your videos and you really inspire me. I'm only a freshman in high school and this is the first year I have been in the business.
Nobody in business is upset that you took a couple weeks off, we all know what it takes to make it in this new world. When you come back we’re still here for you bro!
Great stripes! Always helps when clients water their lawns during drought conditions. What height do you mow at? I measured the blade distance to the ground when our Exmark 48" Radius is in the mowing setting 3.5 and blades measured 3.25". I raised it to 3.75 setting and blades measured closer to 3.5". When mowing in setting 4 it doesn't seem to mow as well. Then again lawns are dormant and lack growth as clients tend not to water. Looking forward to see how the new house turns out.
Yeah the tip to tip video was pretty cool. I’ve started going as wide as possible - really makes a difference. Only thing that’s a drag is when you make a 300yrd pass and realize you went too wide and left a 1.5” strip haha.
Another great video - can't wait to see the Husqvarna backpack video! Hey - junk that chute blocker and get yourself a QwikChute! Way, way better! Big advantage is the handle moves forward and backward rather than sideways (no blocking your camera). That's much easier on your wrist, plus it is intuitive. They have great setups for stand-ons as well riders. Okay - thanks for the new video!
So far our summer: first week of July, all lawns went doormat. As of last week, all lawns came back thanks to a 4 day monsoon storm. Already going back to doormat lololol. I swear, we can get 4 inches of rain, only for the lawns to last a day or two more lololol SMH
I talked to my CPA about it and he said to be very careful with the ER tax credit. I don’t qualify as we did not lose money. Talk to your cpa. If you qualify, they can do the paperwork for you. He also said not to deal with these “specialists”. They tend to get people qualified who don’t and then the individual gets stuck paying everything back including the cut the “specialist” received. It can also trigger an audit.
Hopefully this Sunday! The season was getting a little wild and Sunday nights I was trying to do too much to get the week ready. This time of year I think it's more manageable.
Can you do a video on why you went with the Advanced Chute System instead of the Exmark OCDC chute blocker? I feel like the Advanced Chute handle takes up too much space.
Cheaper and honestly I just didn’t want to deal with cables anymore. And the Ballard Chute is bulletproof, and if you do something you can order replacement parts ez.
That’s not very nice to charge your employee for something that’s a tax write off at the end of the year because it’s a work experience be kind to theses who are helping you.
And, people don't understand what a tax write off is and it's implications. As if all company experiences are basically free because they are a tax write off. Lol.
@@mattpahuta Exactly. It’s still less money in my pocket either way. The major difference is whether the government is getting our money or a parts supplier is.
Thanks Brian for the tax credit website information! Super fast, easy to work with. My business qualified and I had no idea. Forever a fan now lol! Just gotta wait my 20 weeks to receive the payment.
Is that a 570BTS blower? I think that is basically the Redmax EBZ7500, which I run. Love it! Though I think you have the 8500? And yes to the aeration video. Glad to see you posting again and I figured that things were popping off on your end....which is not necessarily a bad thing!

Hey Brian, Rob only did one outside border. I do two, and this allows me to keep the outside birder clean from turns. The inside gets all the turns, and it doesn't look bad either. Maybe you can give it a try?

I would love to move to Michigan and come to Michigan and work for you. lol I'm really getting sick of NYS. I guess pretty soon it's going to be Impossible to get ammo. Seriously considering selling my house and moving to some other state
I’d love to be able to qualify but I’m just a lone wolf out here doing everything myself. Lol maybe next year I’ll be able to qualify and have an employee. But as for right now I’ll just keep pushing. That’s all we small business owners can do. Never. Give. Up. Thanks Brian! Love what you do! Keep on keepin on!
How to prepare the lawn for aeration would be great to know. Should we make sure it is watered a lot before aeration? Should we cut it short before aeration? Anything else?
Does any of the lawn companies dethatch lawns? I assume most push aerating because it's quick easy money, whereas dethatch requires more work than aerating.
If you buy a lot of shovels bring the entire LAL out to your property after the conference and we can all turn the soil, and the entire property will be done in only a couple of hours. lol Bend the blade straight or call Kory Ballard for a new blade. Shouldn’t have to fear an audit as long as it’s done correctly. And if you have proper books, an audit shouldn’t be a concern either.
