@@stupidhandles the concept of the game is entertainment, if every time a contestant was telling the truth they acted completely falling apart and being unable to form a coherent story it would wear thin pretty quickly
Interestingly, large parts of what he says seem to be correct. "Do I love you (Indeed I do)" by Frank Wilson is, in fact, a Motown record, whose original prints were largely destroyed, with only two known records remaining, which are sought after by Northern Soul enthusiasts.
Got rereleased during the Northern Soul era. It's a very famous track. (It features in practically every documentary or film about Northern Soul, pretty much epitomises the scene).
Craig used to co-manage my son’s band (Tiro Lark) with Roeg Best (brother of Pete Best of early Beatles fame). He got them to do a cover of this song. (It’s on RUclips).
I thought there might be some truth in that cos I know the record in question it was used in an advert some time ago on TV so it does exist Graig did a great bluff👍👍👍
That's actually why I thought it was a lie, because I didn't think the song was that rare. I know it quite well. Except it turns out that that bit *is* true.
I think that was the most believable lie I have heard on WILTY
It's the straight face that does it for me.
Wow he smashed that! I was almost disappointed because it seemed so blatantly true and mundane. He was just so smooth at lying.
I thought it was it a lie because details were too specific. When people lie they tend to over explain because they feel it's more convincing
If it was true, Craig has no concept of the game, so I went for lie.

Some get carried away giving details of their truths, telling the whole anecdote like an after dinner speech. Craig seemed to play the game well.

Maybe he really did buy a the record for £5k but he didn't fly to Aus to get it

It's sneaky how they use 9/10ths of true stories to get a lie. 😁
That was the best constructed lie on WILTY in years
I completely believed him 🤭🤭🤭

small world.
Craig's a cutie pie! He had such a sweet mischievous smile in Red Dwarf.
Funny story is there is only two copies of this version of this song actually around and one did get bought for 28000
Craig's love of funk and soul music is so well known that this story is just believable enough to fool almost anyone who is familiar with him. 💜
Please welcome the man who never lies on robot wars
Craig charles.
Craig is first up tonight...
"I once had a mate, Petersen, who brought a pair of shoes with artificial intelligence. Smart Shoes, they were called..."
lmao brilliant
He had me fooled all the way through, was sure it was true. Obvious thinking about it, that he'd be capable of thinking of a rare record, but even so.
If you ever see Craig on one of these type of shows or being interviewed he does tell a good story very well
Wow, he built up the whole story on the spot!
I absolutely adore Craig Charles being a huge Red Dwarf fan and Would I Lie To You. I hope the rest of the dwarfer cast make an appearance
I wanna see them go head to head.
0:16 Could someone explain the 100 metre sprint record to me?
He would have travelled in Starbug
Craig!!!
I see Craig Charles, I click
I buy vinyl. It could absolutely have been true, we aren't well people! 😂
Shouldn't sniff it.
Playing it on a record player is better.
I can't imagine anybody not loving Craig.
Rimmer would be jealous enough to hate him.
Wow he did an amazing
At 1:06 starting to lie for about 10 sec
I thought there might be some truth in that cos I know the record in question it was used in an advert some time ago on TV so it does exist Graig did a great bluff👍👍👍

Robot wars!
Lister would have done it. He'll he would have done it for a good vindaloo
You mean give up the record or MAKE the vindaloo.
Takeshi’s Castle 😂
He was better singing Rastarbilly Skank.
