I have the 24oz version (GeoPress) and love it. The one I have (the 24oz) addresses all the requests of users (less cross contamination, larger volume, better/easier spot for caribiner, pour/drink spout). Regardless of which model you choose... BUY ONE! You won't be sorry. NOTE: Remember no matter what you have for a filter, always carry a single walled stainless steel bottle/cup as a backup.
I got the grayl ultralight for $45CAD since they upgraded the bottle. My plan is to use it when travelling to the USA 🇺🇸 and other international destinations when water safety is an issue. Remember to burp the unit when flying or your gonna have water 💦 coming out of the grayl on takeoff 💡
I've ordered two Grayl 24 oz filtration systems and six replacements, just to make sure. I have Sawyer filters and an Etekcity water filtration system for good measure. I've not tested the Etekcity but we will see how it performs.
Really good information Brother. I've sure been eye balling this thing for a while. Right now I have 5 of the Sports Berkey bottles. One thing I really like about the Berkey is a 25 year shelf life. Thumbs up video buddy ~ John
Great product, I went with the Liberty Icon by LifeSaver as it also filters viruses but with more functionality like filling hydration packs, hand washing etc.
I left my filter out to dry and it ended up mildewing. The filter is big and it’s hard to dry it out. Running bleach through it when done using it would probably be a solution. I would use for an emergency kit but no longer use it for backpacking and camping.
I was wondering is there a chemical dye, that can test if water has virus and bacteria? Also what would be the best filter to filter out all bad stuff (i.e this Grayl, Lifestraw family, etc)?
Just inquiring. Honestly interested. Do you actually use this stuff that is given to you or are you just a voice of sponsorship? It'd be more effective if customers saw you use it in a scenario other than just a demonstration in your yard.
I like the channel. But the idea of bottle is not a good. 1. pressing? Mechanical failure might occur! 2. Lips close to the contaminated water and cup..
70 to 90 dollar purchase price with 30 dollar replacement filters that are only good for 40 gallons?? no thank you doesn't compute as a viable purchase plan.
3 years with mine & is the best ever! My hiking group lived a week, solely on it. A priority purchase!
"God bless America, long live the Republic!" Music to my ears!

LOVE the grayl!!! I have both the small and larger one. Works SUPE!!!. Thanks for the great review!
I like the idea behind the grayl but i find it unnecessary in many areas especially in NA. Now after a grid down i fully understand. Good review

These are always on sale. I got mine for 20% off of the Geopress (bigger one) for around $75
tbom32 bigger one is way way faster
@tbom32 where have you found it on sale?
I was just checking it out on Amazon
Cristian G check their website directly. It’s where I bought mine.

I think that's the one Corporal's Corner has shown and liked. Looks pretty cool
Will it filter chlorine from tap water?
Those other straw designs are meant for only one person to drink from. The Grayl system produces a container of water that can be shared.
How much better is the Grayl Geopress?

Can you back-flush and clean the filter?

Do these things work with ocean water ?
No, not graded to filter out the salt from ocean water.
Sulfur water ?
That looks like a bummer idea pard. Nobwa6 to fill other bladders and it don’t look light weight!
Choose wisely for the true grail will bring you life but a false grail will bring you death

this is the best system thats out there.........
If you're a prepper, its common sense to have more than 1 kind of water filter.
The bigger one is what you want than.
and the link says 89 bucks not the 59 you mentioned
Yet there's untreated water on the outside.

Good point. I’m sticking with a sawyer and a steripen with chlorine as a backup. Or boiling.
Sorry, I'm not going to trust giving my kids water that positively depends on a rubber gasket !
