I’m setting mine up now. I have from September through March notes on tiny pieces of paper in a clip binder. So, I’m coping those down by subject on a blank page and starting new tracking for April, since we homeschool year round and my boys finished their math curriculum before March (my middle was determined to complete Kindergarten before turning 5).

For the field trips, I’m putting all our wish trips and costs and reminders for each (like what to pack for food).

On Math U See, don’t forget that it is mastery. So, not every page has to be completed. My 4 year old completed Primer in less than 4 months with doing more than one page a day, however many he chose, and oldest completed Beta in the same time period because some lessons he only took the test due to already having mastery.

I received my planner earlier this month and have spent the last week or so deciding how I would like to set it up. I have taped in a 1000 hour outside challenge inside next to the title page, then I coloured in the title page, the contents page is now our 1000 book challenge page, then the first blank page I'm going to use it as my page for our goals, hopes and dreams for the year and our mission statement. The next 2 blank pages I have placed in some post notes and made this my brain dump dash board and I can change out the post it notes as I use them. I'm also starting my planner in June. The first calendar page I'm going to use it to put themes that I'd like to cover that month, I'm hoping to work maybe 3 weeks on then to have a themed week so this is where I will put those theme ideas. On the monthly field trip page I'm just going to put where we have went and the date then on the weekly page I will add in a bit more detail for that. The next page is blank so I plan to tape in a 2023-2024 calendar and mark off the dates that I hope to do school on. The next page is the attendance page where I will just colour in which days we have actually done lessons. The classes page I'm going to use each box as a seasonal box of what classes, clubs or activities we are attending. The 1st curriculum overview page I'm going to use as our sensory play ideas for each season where I will also add on a post it note if I need supplies, books, toys for that season, then I can remove the post it when I no longer need it. My 3 youngest kids are 14,6 and 2 but my 14 year old daughter may be going back to school so currently the next 2 curriculum overview pages will be set up one for each of my 2 youngest kiddies of what I would hope to achieve with them for each season. My next 2 overview pages are still blank. For the first 2 book list pages I'm going to use those to record the books we read and the date and as the year goes on I plan to periodically print off the pictures off the books we read to stick in so it looks more fun. The next book list page will be for my little boys and the books I need for their curriculums (blossom and root early years 1 and level 1) then the next book list page or 2 will be for our morning/afternoon/bedtime books, then the last books list page will be for my reads and future books I want to remember to read for myself and the kids. The curriculum progress pages I think might change as we progress through the curriculum for example the rest of this school year I have a few bits and pieces I would like us to complete so I might use a few for that as I love to check off boxes to keep me on track. For the monthly spread I'm going to use that as a daily report I think maybe just like a quick snippet of how our day went and on the notes section maybe put what we would hope/need to achieve or change up and on the month in review blank pages I'm going to also use them as memory pages for photos, pictures and words of the highs and lows from the month. And for the weekly overview blank page I would like to put our high and lows for the week in words and pictures/photos so we can remember special and important moments or days and also the funny things my kids say or do then on the weekly goals I will brain dump for the week then on the schedule I will slot in each day what I would hope/like to get done from the big weekly goals list. Then on the weekly plan page write in what we actually got done and maybe also add in some photos. Then at the back pages I would then use it for curriculum ideas for the following year, a report of how this year went the good and the bad and our hopes and dreams for the next year. If you made it to the end thank you. My hope is that I can just use this beautiful planner like a year book where we can look back on all our memories with fondness. I loved your video, excitement and ideas. Honey I was and still am exactly the same about this planner xxxxxx
