Makes you think twice about buying an older aircraft. Great video. I would like to see more on treatment versus repayment.

The aircraft Illustrated Parts Catalog would have a breakdown of the individual parts that comprise the roof area.
Standard torque values would apply unless otherwise specified by Cessna. Not sure if the older Cessna service manuals call out standard torque values. The SRM for the restart aircraft has much more information regarding hardware specifications. Thanks for watching!

Was the corrosion shown on the block and rear spar sufficient to force replacement, or could you clean them and then treat them and if so how? Thanks

Roy, thank you for posting this video. I’ve recently become concerned about this after Jason Shappert’s 152 surprise and the PA28 looming AD. How much to do this exact inspection on a 182 and simply changing the spar carry throughs when it’s all disassembled?

I know this is an old video. I would have liked to see if you cleaned up the block and or the carry through so that we could have seen how to clean it up and what would be the proper way to do it and to what extent the cleaning would have to be done to have it acceptable. Then I would have liked to see the reinstall using the protection you mentioned should be done on reinstall. I mention this as I went to a&p school and the explanation was just as you showed, but never showing real life carry through. Just quick this is what you would do with out any real life handling of a problem. Thanks again.

Sorry to say that 3 years later and no one has responded to my questions.

I just discovered your excellent series of videos. I have one question? Is there a Cessna "Assembly Manual" or "Illustrated Parts Guide" that shows all of these internal parts and the torques required?
How do you know how much to tighten those AN bolts?

Excellent videos, thank you. Would the corrosion shown on the rear carrythrough be repairable, or would that require replacement?

It is very repairable. It was just surface corrosion and not inter granular.
