I bought one a whim while at my local academy. Looked like an interesting pistol, and I certainly didnt have one like it already. Had a light/laser combo that I threw on the rail, zeroed it at 15 yards and I'll tell you what, it's one of the most fun guns that I own. Almost no recoil from 45 cowboy loads and astonishingly accurate. It's like a laser guided hole puncher! Super fun, for $200 bucks, dont overthink it. It will absolutely put a smile on your face at the range.
Very economical firearm. For those of us who live in the country this would be easiy to store on your lawnmower, tractor, or on your person. It’s light, skinnier than a S&W Governor or Taurus Judge and ya don’t have to worry about scuffing it up, it’s a tool! #4 birdshot for snakes and buckshot or .45 Colt for 4-legged predators. Bought one a year ago for my daughter and her husband.
@SickAntired-t7g, I really like the idea of having this for snakes. Copperheads especially, as I've regularly had them in my yard through the years here in eastern NC. Also given the fact that NC leads the US in venomous snake bites in large part due to the copperheads excellent camouflage!
I love it, i bought one for my dad whos nearing 80 and its very simple for him to use around his house for snakes or God forbid home defense. Cheap and versatile imo.
We immediately view each handgun for self defense, not considering there are other applications. This might be perfect for a farmer to protect the roost from raiders, fox, or other vermin. Maybe a rancher to dispatch large animals. Or a hiker/camper who may want a small portable versatile capability to adapt to either birds or four legged critters for a camp meal. Seems to me a good value in those instances.
Custom wood grip could be made and you can un-screw the rail and add a traditional rear site easily. Are rear sight could be easily machined from the rail/sight or an adjustable rear sight could be modified and fitted.
I picked up a new one for $200 about a year ago. Its unique and useful for that price. My neighbor says its a lil intimidating when he saw me outside with it. Its a good answer the front door gun as long as you have a backup on you.
@@TheFirearmGuyIt seems like it was designed to be a portable survival weapon. Between .45LC and .410, it accepts any payload, much like the Taurus Judge / S&W Public Defender series revolvers. Or it can use special issue ammo like non-lethals, pepperballs, loud blanks, or flares. The difference between the revolvers and this is capacity and simplicity. Much quicker and easier to disassemble this weapon for cleaning / servicing / parts replacement than the revolvers.
I wouldn't use it as a survival gun because the spread is so bad past 15 feet you cant hit anything and the 45 colt just shoots ok. When you need a gun you need a gun not a toy
I have a woodchuck infestation on my property; I bought a Brawler so that I had a compact 410 to "discourage" the population of Rodents Of Unusual Size". So far it's done a find job. I like the 2.5" buckshot loads as well; I've tested them against stand up silhouette targets and they are minute of perp every time back to 25-30 ft. In my book its a winner. I recently purchased a Rossi Tuffy Survivor to go with it....
Would never carry or use for self defense. But hell yes I want it for a range toy. Just looks cool. Can't be all doom and gloom. Gotta have fun sometimes.
Years ago, I bought a Cobray/Leinad double barreled 410/.45LC derringer. I just thought is was neat looking and it was cheap. It's now the gun I've carried and USED more than any gun I own. It's handy for the tractor/mower/offroad buggies and does a great job on rattlers and copperheads.
The Rossi Brawler is absolutely a winner, especially at this price point-an excellent choice for those seeking a solid single-shot option. Speaking of single-shot handguns, I can't help but mention the outstanding Freedom Arms Model 2008 series. The 15" variant is a marvel, available in 17 different caliber chamberings, ranging from .338 Federal to .357 Magnum. The 10" variant offers versatility too, with 7 chamberings, from .460 S&W Magnum to .357 Magnum. In my opinion, the Model 2008 series is arguably the best single-shot handgun available today. Just thought it’s worth a mention for those exploring premium single-shot options.
Not when you are talking about hunting. This gun is a little more novelty than practical but across the board a single shot is my favorite hunting rifle.
@@chucksherron I've had many single shots through the years but currently only have 2. An old Remington 22 rolling block and a Sharps 45-120 falling block. I've had shot guns, rifles, and pistols through the years.
“Get one! You know you want it! Get iiiiiit!” Whew… Sorry, the voice in my head that always takes over whenever I’m looking at guns suddenly came out 😂
Fishing and boat guns are generally specialized pieces of equipment. This would come in very handy for cottonmouths, rattlers and pythons. It also would work well on rabid coons and or bats.
It's a cool idea one thing I've never understood about guns like this is why it's not made to fire more powerful rounds like .454 casull or even better .460 S&W magnum both of which can be chambered in these guns since they're chambered for 3" .410 shells and both of which would blow these guns up within 1 or 2 rounds.
I agree Dan, I don't see it as the best option for self defense. I'm not ever a really big fan of single shot guns/rifles in any case so theres that. I'd rather get a Taurus Judge, it's more compact and you get more shots. BUT I could see this as maybe a decent 45 colt hunting pistol for deer depending if you're getting any accuracy out of it.
For the $$ it is a fun snake, varmint gun. And you can treat yourself to some 45LC action. I like mine. Release sometimes sticks but should work out over time.
It is definitely a novelty pistol. While I do own a novelty handgun, the Altor, this is not one I would be interested in. Thanks for the video and have a blessed New Year.
Blue strip is a tammer rubber plug, Hogue makes grips for large caliber Taurus handguns with orange tammer grips. I’m sure it’s the same thing. Supposed to subdue the shock of the round to your hand, Tame it so to speak. 👍🏻
I like mine, got it when they first came out. I shoot alot of 45 colt anyway so that was a plus. To me its a cool little woods gun, trapline gun, kayak gun, stuff like that. I also have some adapters for it to shoot 22lr and 9mm just makin it that much more versatile. Great for snakes, or dispatching other critters if need be in my opinion. They remind me of the old commanche pistols from years ago, but those a really hard to find. So when i saw this thing i just had to have it.
Don’t forget you can shotgun barrel adapters for break action guns. So you could also shoot other calibers, including.22, which makes this more practical, for hunting small game, particularly with a scope or red dot.
This is the consolation for not being able to get the short barreled rifle Turkish revolver version that they sell in Canada. Taurus/Rossi saw that hole in the US market and went for it with what they could do.
It's something people get as a novelty and it's not expensive. Rossi should have made it in double barrel and maybe they will, that would probably broaden the market for it.
I was actually going to pick one up today but the shops were close I just think of getting it for a range fun toy cool factor plus thing single shots are cool
Thanks Dan, I was curious about this. Not ideal I know, but maybe two of these on the nightstand might be okay for fast reaction if someone breaks in. About $100 too much though.
Looks like a whole lot of fun ---and shotgun cartridges (including the .410) are the easiest thing in the world to reload in a SHTF scenario ---the primers are the same size as all other shotgun shells ---so buy a bunch of primers and gun powder ---you can always melt lead down and make your own slugs (using a drill bit and a block of wood, a little wax in the holes makes it easier to get them out of the wood, you can make your own wads out of cardboard)

Not sure if they plan on coming out with other barrels but that would make it more versatile. I have a Thompson Center Super 14 with multiple barrels, but don't have a .410 barrel yet. I think I'll stick with my Thompson. Thanks for the video.
Pretty decent snake gun. The longer barrel will keep the shot closer the the bond arms snake charmer. It’s basically a budget howadah ( yeah, I know I misspelled it).
loved being on your chat coach , we love your vides! Happy New Year, is there a warning on slugs on these ?, as a farmer this can be a useful firearm, farm has many of those little critters aboutin the fields, 410 is all my grandfather needed for 140 acre farm
IMO if you have the guns you really need then buy all the fun guns you want. There are only a couple guns I bought that I regretted buying. However, there are several I regret selling. I think the Brawler is a bit of a novelty but I do think it would make a decent tree stand gun for close range game when archery hunting. Our turkey season is open at the same time as our archery deer season so throwing this little gun in the pack would be kinda nice for when a big gobbler struts right under the tree.
I think a fun gun for the price. I could see it as a good farm gun, boat gun, etc. With the 9” barrel you’re going to get better performance out of whatever round you choose to use in it, in addition to not losing power from the cylinder gap in a revolver. This would especially be true for the Federal 000 buck like you mentioned as well as the .45 Colt. I’m curious how the barrel would be with bird shot? assuming it’s rifled I’d like to see how the longer barrel patterns with birdshot vs a Judge or similar. Nice video sir!
It does lose power compared to a revolver_ that 2 inches of chamber that the bullet has to traverse before contacting the forcing cone lets a lot of gas around the bullet
I picked up the brawler as an impulse buy a few years ago. Then a few months later I bought the Taurus home defender. The rossi is good but the 5 shot Taurus is nicer in my opinion. Ammo was a challenge for sure but I have found some 1 oz slugs that were not too bad😁
For the price it would be cool to add to the collection. I have a few North American mini revolvers just because. I don't carry any of them as my primary but they are fun to have.
Isn't this type of pistol what Thompson Center used to produce? It would be nice if you could switch barrels to shoot various ammo, including rifle rounds. Perhaps hunters who like to take game at shorter distances or thick forested areas would like this? Easier to carry without giving up powder and/or accuracy? Also pretty good for testing handloads without risking an expensive firearm.
I think it’s a winner. Would be a great back pack gun in places without brown bears. You could carry multiple types of ammo to hunt small game or if needed to run off mild threats. Looks cool also
It would be interesting to see this pistol with a small Alof's mechanism. More functional for sure but the killer would be the aesthetics. Definitely an eye grabber.
I would buy this for a servival backpack its a small versatile operation for outdoors you can shoot small game and larger game to. Not all gun are for everyday carry.
Bang for the buck it looks fun, however I’d stick to my T/C Contender. Mine currently has the 45LC/410 10” barrel with screw in choke (use with 410 only, remove the choke for 45LC) mounted on it, I can also swap out the barrel for all kinds of different length and caliber configurations. Shoot, with barrels 16” or longer I can also put a buttstock on it and have a carbine. Barrels for the T/C come chambered in .17HMR to.35Remington as well as a lot of wildcat chamberings. The biggest draw back is it’s not a cheap gun to set up. A complete used gun runs $600(+), used barrels go for $200(+), and furniture prices vary depending on condition, maker, and so on.
That reminds me of the old Thompson center contender, which was a fine target pistol that you could interchange a bunch of different barrels with. If they made other barrels that you could put on there and it looks like that should be easy then it would be worthwhile. But certainly not worthwhile as a home defense gun.
Some guns are only ment to put a smile on your face, and there's nothing wrong with that.
A smile on your face along with an eye patch in this case.
It would be cool if they made this in double barrel configuration
Agree
Would be a good force multiplier, but trigger one and two needs to be 10# break.
Yep! They could have charged $100 more and do the double barrel and people would buy it
This. If it was double barrel it would be selling like hotcakes.
Over/under I would buy 2!
Someone else suggested a double barrel. I'd buy that!
It’s a 21st century dueling pistol, and should come in sets. That is what I believe the design is based on.
Yes!
It looks kind of like the custom 45-70 pistols from John Wick.
Modern duel should b read dot or lazer
Reminds me more of the old commanche pistols from years ago. They were single shot 410, 45 colt pistols with chokes.
T/C Contender, and T/C Encore
It is fun, not everything has to be serious. Go out and have some fun, it’s a winner!
I gotta have a follow up round.

The biggest draw back is it’s not a cheap gun to set up. A complete used gun runs $600(+), used barrels go for $200(+), and furniture prices vary depending on condition, maker, and so on.
I like it. Seems well made. At least I know what a Brawler is.
The blue strip is to differentiate from the Taurus models , as they merged a while ago .
That's good info bro. Thanks
I think it's pretty cool
It has that cool factor working for it no doubt
It's definitely not practical, but it does look pretty cool. That's a good enough reason to keep something around 😅
That reminds me of the old Thompson center contender, which was a fine target pistol that you could interchange a bunch of different barrels with.
If they made other barrels that you could put on there and it looks like that should be easy then it would be worthwhile. But certainly not worthwhile as a home defense gun.
Got a red dot on mine, it’s fun, ejector is strong.
Have you looked at the Super Comanche pistols? They are also a break barrel 45LC/.410.
