I can finally stop holding my breath or laugh whenever Caleb expresses eagerness to learn more about Natasha Yar. I've been watching TNG for literal decades at this point but I only realized her name was Natasha in like the last 8 months lmao.
Denise Crosby said if they wrote her character with more dialogue like they gave her Worf-Tasha at the start of the episode, she wouldn't have be inclined to quit. Which uh, makes perfect sense.
Tasha's foresight in placing the Windows XP background for her funeral was really commendable.
Troi's biggest hurdle to overcome is not anything about her character but the individuals who write her character lacking the emotional maturity required for someone like Troi.

@@TheystromReview Hahaha, right? We’re finally here! And it is funny that almost nowhere else do does the franchise comment on the fact that her full first name is Natasha.

Consider Starship personnel. There may be several classifications of Starship staff and it's possible that many signed for a standard 2-year Tour of Duty. At the end of the period of service, personnel may sign again to continue Starship service or exercise options to attend other opportunities within Starfleet.
Denise Crosby's character, "Tasha Yar", offered a unique opportunity to see Starship personnel end their period of service, and move on to other Starfleet career options or return to civilian life. Tasha's leaving could have been more respectful. Production executives didn't have to go, "the monster got Tasha" cliché of 1950's sci-fi personified by Gene Roddenberry.
Starfleet (and the Federation) are never handled in a way that suggests wide-ranging organizations made up of hundreds, if not thousands, working on behalf of humanity's goal of reaching out to the universe. Worldbuilding is not restricted to movies, TV shows can do the same - but it takes real talent.

Random Tar Monster. This episode sucked imo. If Tasha didn't die in the episode it would be completely skippable. I found the episode super boring, it's just the crew dealing with the Devil again. I get Denise's frustrations with the show and I sympathize but her position on the show is much better filled by Worf. 51:00 Of course Gene was upset, he lost his Blonde on the show, did u know she did playboy once? I struggled to make it through the episode this week and its not gonna get better 🙃. Thanks for episode as always guys and special guest Adri.

@@Cap_Olimar I don’t disagree. I can totally understand and align with those sentiments. I think Adri and I enjoyed it more than usual this time mainly because Caleb was experiencing this episode for the first time. I am curious to see how Caleb responds to the next couple of episodes. Thank you for the comment and support and kindness. We appreciate you, Captain!

@thedaystromholodeck it probably doesn't help I'm watching Scott Bakulas Enterprise and its so much better than season 1 TNG (so far). I liked your points that there are glimpses of what makes TNG great, Picard and Data talking about death and some good interactions with Troi.
