@@imfsresidentotaku9699 songs made for movies aren't really songs themselves, they're more like a prop to the film... Plus everytime we hear the original version of this song, definitely this version,, our imagination is immediately brought to visuals of the show...
A real song I feel is one you can make an entire imaginative show in your mind inspired by the theme & tempo of the song.

@@noname-xo5mp I think ur point on envisioning the scene with the song is invalid just because music videos exist. Some people have never seen Shrek (as insane as that sounds) so does that only make it a “real song” to them? Most of my Spotify wrapped this year was music from/specifically made for movies. It’s kind of unfair to say that those songs aren’t “real music”. Some of the best songs I’ve ever listened to have come from movies where they were specifically made for those films. I find that those songs have more meaning to them than what you normally hear on the radio these days. I think Dreamworks and Pixar soundtracks more “music” than music made by say… Megan Trainor or Harry Styles.
When I was really little I used to sing the 'I believe' chant part through supermarkets and everyone thought i was some sort of religious activist 😂

You can just imagine what it was like to be around when this first came out. Fantastic movie, I love the sequels but nothing compares to the magic of the very first movie.
