Brandon was a superstar since he was a child; holding many age group world records. I am very glad to see how quickly he's adjusted to the college program and the progress he's made.
McLear must be hating Charlie Hunter about now. Gets pipped by Hunter for the win indoors, then pipped for Bronze outdoors. Great runs by Jewett and Miller after their very sub-par semi's.
Bummer for Charlie. Missed the Olympic qualifying time by 0.55 seconds to jump onto the Australian team. Ditto for McLear, missing it by 0.60 to get onto the British team.
@M A perhaps I overstste. Very below par semi's for them. Yes, they made it, but considering how good they are, it was surprising tonsee both of them struggle like that.
Super happy for this guy. I was 18 at aau meets and we’d be looking to see what a 13yr old had run just because ain’t no way we wanted to have a slower time. Dudes worked his ass off from the very beginning eager to see what the next 5yrs will be for him
Hunter just wanted the win more than McLear. One time I was in a race, it was between me and some other guy for 2nd and 3rd, but I knew I wasn't going to be able to outsprint him and settled for bronze. It also felt like my legs were going away, my body was okay but I could barely feel my legs so I let the other guy beat me.
This guy is incredible and what a delight to watch him and that freshman ran a 1:44.97 from Texas A&M. The rest of the field all ran sub 1:46 and 1:47. WOW!!!!
I love seeing a pure guts race like this. Running negative splits can win "tactical" races but you're always gonna wonder if you could have left more on the track when you win that tactical race and still end up third
I have never totally understood what is particularly "tactical" about running slower than your best effort or choosing to jog 1/2 or 3/4 of a race and sprint like mad at the end...
@@Sneakypete777 because if you're not the fastest guy in the field over the full distance but you have good kick, it's a great way to win as an underdog
interesting to see hunter go in the middle of the pack, as he usually goes up to the front pack by 300m. I wonder if he thought that the first two guys were gonna go out too fast and fade but then got kinda surprised how they kept going, then got put out of position and had to really move on that last 150m
@@regiseal i honestly think it’s his speed that’s holding him back, he probably runs in the 48s for a quarter (mid to high), so his strength would need to be really upper echelon for him to consistently run low 1:45 and under. Just my speculation
It's very annoying, almost annoying as spoiler titles. I appreciate watching a race as if I'm watching it live....I quickly maximize the video and ignore the comment section until the end also
I watched this when this race first happened but how in the hell did the commentators not talk about Brandon miller more !?!?!?!? The dude is the acc indoor champion. Give him some respect
man this guy is gonna destroy every record when he hits puberty.
Lmaooo
Huh?
More surprised by his voice than his win. I wasn’t ready for that lol Congrats on the win. Awesome race. Go SC!
Lol, same here
Lol his mom was my HS track coach, and his voice sounds the same as it did when i was in high school 10+ years ago lol
his voice and also cooper's just is so surprising
I had to rewind to make sure it was the same guy😂
I guess he is a good singer.
Congrats to Isaiah. Brandon Miller has always been good, congrats to him too for keeping it up.
Agree both showed w lot of grit
And Brandon is another one of this year's amazing freshmen.
He (Brandon) has 3 more years.... he will be making new records.
Brandon was a superstar since he was a child; holding many age group world records. I am very glad to see how quickly he's adjusted to the college program and the progress he's made.
This kid was running 1:50 as a freshman. I saw him at the Missouri State Meet, and he put maybe 5 or 6 seconds between him and 2nd.
Did not expect him to sound like that
I’m glad someone said it I didn’t want to
His voice reminds me of Mike Tyson. Don’t let that voice fool you.
Fr man I was trying not to laugh when he was hyping the team up but besides that he’s a good runner for sure
That's your big takeaway, not his stellar 1:44 ?🙄 He sounds fine
Kinda like Carl Lewis voice.

Lol nice backhanded blunt comment

@@kevinkasp 5 Brits have run the time so far this year, including a 20 year old running under 1:44 yesterday.

I guess they were saving themselves in the semis for a strong performance in the finals.
Damn dude, I ran against Brandon Miller at some youth meets. Unreal talent. Crazy to see him here still killing it.
Same ran against him in a couple 4x4 s crazy

2nd place Miller a freshman!!
Future Olympian in the works.
Miller is is use to winning so he was not afraid to go for it.
Good run USC.
Really ballsy running from both him and Jewett. PRs for both, I think.
@@randyevermore9323 yup PRs for both. They laid it all on the line! And hit the Olympic standard. Well done.
I can't believe Hunter leaned on McLear again.
You mean "outleaned."
Don't think McLear can either!!
hunter a bitch
@@ferno225 he definitely had more desire to win bronze here. A tough competitor.

Charlie love bullying Finley Mclear😭
That's so wrong...but so true! 🤣
That surge at 300m was perfect. Nice form and finished strong. 400 legs are no joke!
Brandon Miller will destroy the collegiate record 💯 he’s been breaking the 800m records his ENTIRE life Great run!
Omg Texas A&M has a future in 800m runners w Miller and Mu
Mu might go professional tho
He ran that race to win....just like David Radisha did in 2012 Olympics. Guts and Glory.
Please don’t give away the winner in the thumbnail, thanks.

Much respect to Brandon!!! Excellent job Derrick and Angie!
Yes Angie and Derrick are amazing!!!
Why do y'all post videos and give away the winner in the thumbnail every time??
“There’s no time like the present” 💯
I always saw Brian Miller at junior Olympics
Isaiah doesn't actually look like an 800m runner. To me, he looks more like a guy who runs the 400m, possibly the 200m.
Definitely 400
Finally somebody said it 😂, he definitely looks more like a sprinter
He won the race before it even started so much confidence 🤣🤣🤣well done ✅
A superb event with great competitive action. Hopefully, the athletes who will be in the Olympic trials get some rest.
My admiration for front runners!
I’ve seen Brandon Miller race a lot since he ran in my state for track races. Speedy boy
amazing you actually saw him - I'm amazed cuz I saw myself in the mirror
Congratulations my Trojan that’s how you go out to finish at SC Baby Fight On just amazing 🤩

jewett isa great kid! great future ahead of him.
Great runner but man his voice lmaoooo 😂😂😂
Congratulations Isaiah Jewett!

Do they still wear spikes on these tracks for like 800m + longer races?(old runner from the 80's 90's)
Yes
Imagine what he'll be able to accomplish once he complete his transition? wow incredible
Go family Jewett for the win❤️
North Carolina A&T 💪🏾
CG to Isaiah rest up. Peak for the Olympics!
Kinda sad hunter couldn’t complete Oregon’s triple sweep
Great Champion
Race starts at 4:23
lol @ 7:55 why does the runner behind Isaiah push his arms down when he had them in the air?
I think he was just congratulating him, not pulling his arm down.
because there is a fly near his belly button where it is full of lint to breed
He sounds like someone is going 800m's into his cheeks
This time would have won Olympic gold the year Dave Wottle won.
Isaiah Jewett is the whites black person I have ever seen...
Anyone know any tips to go sub 2?
Is that his real voice?
no, he worked in the Helium Gas company where I worked and we quit - we refused to be spoken to in that way
That pump up speech seemed like they allowed a make a wish kid to address the team
Classless comment. That was USC head coach Caryl Smith Gilbert.
@Dekai Averett it was the coach. You’re absolutely wrong.
nice young man
And now going to the olympics!
He was just at my school
These dudes are 30 seconds faster than me how tf
Second national championship in one year where Hunter piped McLear at the line 😂
Used to run with him at Cathedral
“Yall niggas keep playing with me like I’m a bitch or something”
Hocker not even in the race *gets mentioned twice
