Thank you very much for such a detailed video! My Dad recently passed away and would’ve been the one to do this. Thanks to you a 31 year old lady was able to replace my belt with no issue!
About how tight should the belt be when new belt is going on? Great video ... mine just had blades hit ...do you have any carb rebuilding vids on this model?
Should be able to move it about around 1/4" is how tight I done this one. Seems to be working great. I'm sorry, I do not have a carburetor rebuild video for this unit. Thanks for watching! 🍻 -Al
Thank you for the helpful video. One mistake I noticed is that it looks like you show how to install the engagement rod upside down (spring facing down) because in the next step it has the spring facing up.
Yeah I have accidently installed it that way a few times before. Doesn't really make any difference on mine, but on top with the spring is the correct way indeed. 🍻 Thanks for your comment!
Al when u put the engagement rod on do u put the engagement rod with the coil spring facing up or down facing deck I see u put yours facing the spring up I tried facing spring up but now way will the front of the engagement rod connect to the place where u put the top washer and clip Thanks
On top with the spring is the correct way. I've accidently installed mine upside down and it still seems to enguage. But the spring sits on top in the owner's manual. Best of luck to you. 🍻
If it doesn't make it length wise, you may have to adjust the nut at the top of the rod. That can get out of adjustment if it is loose or missing the lock nut. Check that.
Great video, sir . I was wondering if you have a video on how to adjust the mower height?? I adijusted mine at 2.5 inches bit my deck wont lock in transport position.
I don't have a video about that yet. You must have adjusted something too much if the deck won't lock. You may have to back off that adjustment until it will lock again if that is the case. ??? Not sure what you done there. The owner's manual will take you through adjusting the deck, if you don't have one, you can find it on John Deere's website. Thanks and cheers! 🍻
You are right-That is the drive belt # for the deck. I must have gotten them mixed up. The OEM # for the serial #'s higher is M150717. Sorry About that. Cheers for the catch. I need to put that info in the comment section. Thanks! 🍻
I have a LT160 and thinking about getting a Freedom 42 deck. Are all Freedom 42 decks the same regardless of what model tractor they came off of? THX great video
The earlier ones have a different timing belt size is all I am aware of. Otherwise the design is true for all of them I think. It enguages with that rod and not a cable. As long as the enguagement works.

I got the belt replaced but can’t figure out how to put the deck cover back over the timing belt.
Should fit back in place-make sure you got it turned the right way. Don't tighten down all
the screws till they are all are in. Hope that
helps you. 🍻

I'm a lil confused, you have the same serial number for 2 different belts

@@bigalsmallengines no worries, I figured it when the belt I ordered was too long. Great video
