A piece of advice I got from a friend made a big difference for me. Your rear tire will always track slightly inside from your front tire. So, going through corners you want your front tire near the outside edge of the track and that will keep your rear still on the single track.

The rear follows the front. Go figure aye lol

Another good tip, if you suffer from arm pump squeeze your knees on the tank and lighten your grip over the bars on smoother sections. Any small amount of flow to your hands brings life back into them.

Thanks so much for this. I’m a new to off-road rider and am honestly terrified of late on the trails. I haven’t done much research on how to ride single track. I was looking more at videos on how to double blip and stuff when I’m not even comfy with the basics. This video really put my current mindset and fear into perspective. I’m about to gear up and go actually have some fun now that I have some basic knowledge and approach to the endeavor. Thank you so much🫶🤙

Excellent video! "look ahead" is so true. I often find myself looking straight down at the very next rock 😅 Practice makes perfect!

@@TheDirtbikeRider I don't like to talk in my videos but I'm not skilled like you. Voice over or real talking is fine. We will support you no matter what. 💪😃

Never look "closer", down. Always look ahead.
Sometimes the best way to go faster, is to go slower. It's all about finding your rhythm and flow.
And, the biggy. Remember to breathe, a lot of people hold their breath when they are highly focused on a task. Breathing correctly will also help you with less arm pump, obviously.
Also important to try and ride efficiently as possible. typically, he who finishes with the most energy, finishes first.
When choosing a bike for ST, try not to get your ambition mixed up with your ability. Small bore 2 T's rock in the ST. "Less is more".

Always pick the smoothest line…unless you see a big rock that can give you air.

Thank you! As I get new experiences - your "kind of" knowledge and hints got me far ahead of where I stand. Your explanation of the track and body preparation gives me a kind of 3D-4D animation (fantasy-hero-track-dragon-seeking) in my head (maybe), but it feels a kind of real (heart rate) - so maybe a bit willingly you have become my teacher at the moment and I am proud of your self-explanatory abilities. One more question to master my approach: Is cleaning the dirt bike really necessary? :)

    • @Faded_5389

You should clean your dirt bike after every ride to keep it's lifespan as long as possible. Especially if you're out in mud or generally dirty terrain.

I want to better understand how to think about the balance of turning the bars, leaning the bike, and weighting the pegs while woods riding. I ride with faster guys and they just seem a lot smoother through twisting tracks - especially those that are not perfectly smooth. Any recommendations?
