The Modeler/tone architecture used in the Helix and HX Stomp is astounding for its flexibility and power. I still have so much more to explore. Thanks the the demo and tips.

Thanks for the video. I've been experimenting with the 4 cable method today using the HX Stomp with my Fender Mustang GTX100 amp. Now the GTX100 effects are not great (and up until now I had regretted buying it), but the modelled fender amps are decent, particularly the twin reverb. I also tried bypassing the preamp and replacing it with some of the helix preamps as you described, and the results were pretty impressive. Really nice crisp punchy tones and lots of flexibility to try different preamps (Matchless preamps sound great). I think this is going to be my go-to set up for the time being anyway, as I had been struggling to get tones I was really happy with using the helix amp+cab/IR's.

New to HX Stomp but quickly learned that there is a slight delay/hiccup when switching presets so I’m using snapshot mode. I’m trying to essentially make my own EVH 5150 iii so Im using a Fender Clean for snap shot 1. Then for the 2nd and 3rd snapshots I use the PV Panama preamp and all the other typical effects.
I am enjoying using the preamps into the Return of the loop.The response is great.
I am a bit confused why some preamps are so quiet..even after boosting a few dB the drives aren't as 'gainy' as in the Amp equivalent.

WOW man this is AMAZING playing, not to mention some gorgeous tones! Really great idea to save DSP space as well as trying something different instead of the Amps or an OD block. I will need to try this out for sure. You keep coming up with ways to make beautiful music John and its really inspiring. Yes... sometimes I’ll put my synergy (tube preamp) in a fx block before a helix amp and it adds a good bit of the secret sauce:) I do find this method generally sounds better with IRs vs stock cabs.
I've been adding preamps early in my signal chain, they can really bring out different dynamics from the regular amps/cabs. The studio tube preamp is really cool too.

I often use hx preamps into both front and effects return of my tube amp(depending on the model, very different eq curves required) in conjunction with my overdrives and fuzz they can sound great. Both evolving my limited tube amp sounds while retaining some of that tube feel from a real power stage. I hardly ever use the full amp models or IR’s anymore in the hx. With a little effort I have got tones I am really happy with.

Nice playing man, are you using just the preamps of the line 6 stomp ? You’re not using your física amps at all right ?
Way I use pre amp. If I go into the fx return and bypass preamp on real amp. When I use amp is usually with headphones or frfr speaker. Or if going into power amp section of katana.
Another similar option: use preamp as a "character pedal" in front of a real amp(no effects loop). I tried with the grammatico preamp into my deluxe reverb to get some tweed like sound and it was great. Only problem was that it sounded really low and i had to max out the output block to get sound, not sure why...
So I think some of them are louder than others - actually modeled on how the real preamps work I think?

They're in the Helix folder inside the 2.9 folder yep!

Hi! I just bought the bundle today, but I can't import the preamp presets in my stomp. Also I can't find the freeze/super ego presets. I'm using 2.9. All the others works fine. Thanks!

In the market for either a stomp or LT. I'm still unsure if the 6 blocks would be enough. I just wish they made a unit with a bit more DSP power in a small package. What are your thoughts?
Thoughts: No matter what Line6 makes, you will want more. I have a Helix and a Stomp. I use the Stomp all the time. Helix is too big for home playing. For me. Just get a Stomp. It's all you need.
how I can use hx stomp with a external tube preamp? because hx Don't have power section. Pls help me. (I'm hispanic speaker, if U can understand) thanks!
Run the stomp into the effects return. You may need to plug a cable into the input to activate the effects loop. I use an adapter plug so it’s not hanging out of the front of my amp.
