The Sword of Kaigen is truly brilliant. It is so emotional and painful but handles it all masterfully and with such maturity that you feel fullfilled at the end. Everything it talks about, it handles so gracefully that I matured along the way reading it. It's about growing, maturing, healing, and moving forward, and many more themes. Truly love that book.
These are my favorite videos! It opens the door to new authors and genres for me. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Love your explanations. Really enjoy following you!
Oh my! Shadow of the gods was already on my tbr, but now you’ve answered my question for an older person / parent protagonist, it is going all the way to the top🥰
I’d also recommend The Art of Prophecy by Wesley Chu. One of the main POV characters is a badass older woman who goes on a quest. The book has great non-romantic relationships along with great plot lines and world building.
great recommendations. i love james islington. especially as a new author he has incredible promise and his character and world development starts slow but is usually pretty good.
Currently reading Sword Catcher and I’m amazed at the amount of tension and chemistry there is, even between Conor and Kel, I seriously can’t tell where anything is going, I’m enjoying it a lot!!!
For the subverted chosen one trope (as well as a great older female character going on a quest) I highly recommend The Art of Prophecy by Wesley Chu. I picked it up on a bit of a whim and I couldn’t put it down (definitely one of my favorite books of the year).
I also feel like Godkiller by Hannah Kaner is great for the Pokemon feel with Skeddy being just the cutest little guy. I'm definitely picturing the Lumens from FaeFarm whenever he's described!
I really want to read LIBRARY OF THE DEAD, FOUNDRYSIDE, and SPELLS FOR FORGETTING! I just read THE UNMAKING OF JUNE FARROW by Adrienne Young and I love Adrienne’s writing and now I want to read more of her books! 😍😭🥰
Would love your recommendations for fantasy books like the way of kings, and other epic type fantasy books but very easy to read for beginners to reading fantasy and beginner readers all together. Looking for my best friend who reads but never read fantasy, and my husband who doesn’t read but would like to start and likes shows like the Witcher. I need Christmas gift ideas for those readers. I’m lost for ideas
Would you be able to include the age rating for your recommendations? ☺️💕 I always love your recommendations but find I usually have to look up what age the book is geared too
Love this video! Since you mentioned Josiah Bancroft, I was wondering if you have read his latest release Hexologist. If so: is it anything like Senlin Ascends? Do you recommend it?
@destineeturner573012 The Farseer Trilogy, The Liveship Traders, The Tawny Man trilogy, The Rain Wild chronicles Fitz and the fool trilogy. Liveship may feel like a digression from the main plot as its different characters, same with Rain Wild. However Hobb ties all the threads and characters together beautifully in the last 3.
the most Divine Rivals book that there is is Lovely War. There's Gods, there's WWI, there's longing, there's letters, it's not fantasy and it's not rivals to lovers, but tone and theme it's the same.
Does anyone think like me? If I were going to read a fantasy novel about a topic like crime families or colonialism or whatever, I'd also like to read some non fiction on those topics.
I was disappointed by book two of the Library of the Dead series because I felt like the author made Ropa act so dumb and totally took away all of her common sense
This is a holy grail of a video, thank you Reagan 😭🙏

Give Blood Over Bright Haven a shot! It’s another standalone by M.L Wang, but this time it’s dark academia!
@@ahyokawolf7207 omg girl i've been waiting for that book since it was announced, and i'm waiting to be able to buy it now.😔😔
My fantasy rec queen from day 1✨
You have a wonderful gift of expression and descriptive language. Great reviews!!!! I’m saving the entire video!!!

I also feel like Godkiller by Hannah Kaner is great for the Pokemon feel with Skeddy being just the cutest little guy. I'm definitely picturing the Lumens from FaeFarm whenever he's described!
True!
I’ve read all except three!!
I'd add in the His Dark Materials Series for the pokemon-esque animal companion vibes!

MY Roman Empire-inspired favorite series - Furies of Calderon. Can't recommend it enough!
I love these videos so much!
Foundryside sounds so good! 👀
I would like to see your video about predicting the best fantasy books for Goodreads this year.
kindle is wondering why I sent a dozen samples to my library
Arc of a Scythe series by Neal Shusterman are great for those who enjoy a good dystopian vibe
Would you be able to include the age rating for your recommendations? ☺️💕 I always love your recommendations but find I usually have to look up what age the book is geared too
For epic historical fantasy, I would strongly recommend Crown Of Stars series by Kate Elliott.
Love Foundryside
The Jade Legacy is my top read this year. I read it back to back in a week. Can you recommend a similar book / series. Thanks
These are always fun!
I need to read Sword Catcher so badly 😤
Juliet Marillier is one of my favourite writers ever
*likes and saves this video for future reference as if I’m not drowning in an endless tbr as it is…*
I love Juliet marillier was much ❤
A murderous mommy 😂 i love it
I really want to read the Baru Cormorant series, especially with how much you seem to love it. Are you planning on reading the 3rd book any time soon?
Love this video!
Since you mentioned Josiah Bancroft, I was wondering if you have read his latest release Hexologist. If so: is it anything like Senlin Ascends? Do you recommend it?
I’m confused on the order of the books for The Realm of the Elderlings 😅 Send help pls
Any book having a tournament kind of like the tournament arcs in animes?
The will of the many has a tournament element!
Thanks🙃
Are there any other?? I can’t find that book anywhere near me 🫠🥲
Good recomendations
Have you read the gone series by Michael grant?
I’m dying for you to read the Moontide Quartet by David Hair

Good afternoon

Hello!!
Hello???
Hey great video but please use timestamps for us impatient young people :)))
I was disappointed by book two of the Library of the Dead series because I felt like the author made Ropa act so dumb and totally took away all of her common sense
I love these videos so much!
