I'm not an engineer or mathematician or anything like that, but please hear me out. The original swaybar link is attached to the strut, which is directly attached to the spindle, so the swaybar linkage would be at 1:1 ratio with the wheel's movement so to speak. Now that you attach the link to the control arm, and depending on where on the arm you put it, there will be a big difference. The control arm is a lever and will act as a force multiplier, meaning if you attached the link to the middle of the arm, the swaybar would see half the movement compared to the wheel, but double the force. Now let's say you attached the link 3/4 of the way to the bushing of the control arm (the fulcrum of the lever), the swaybar will see 1/4 of the movement of the wheel but 4X the force. Or a 4:1 gear ratio if you will. This means the effectiveness of the swaybar will be drastically reduced to just 1/4 compared to the original linkage. Please double check my maths, but I think you should reconsider this
On the other hand, you did also cut the arm on the swaybar shorter, which should reduce the effect of moving the link to the control arm a bit. At this point it's geting too complicated for me to calculate off the cuff, but my gut feeling tells me it will be far from enough to make up from moving the link to near the bushing of the control arms.
I think you are correct in your analysis, but there is a ton of things to take in to consideration, the fact that my coilovers are stiff and doesn't have the same travel as an OEM suspension. And attaching the droplink to the strut is far from all manufacturers that do. But were it is attached on the control arm will definitely effect how well it work. This will be a V2.0 and we will see if it works or not.
Well... I ended up with Japanese wheels on my saab 93, purely unintentional, the salvage yard sold the ones I went for, so I grabbed the xsr wheels and fortune smiled upon me that day and they were 5x110 with four good tires, a little kerb rash, but for 60GBP I definitely couldn't complain. I may do a wheel restoration video. Thanks Jonas once again. Ross.
Keep up the tremendous work you do Jonas a true inspiration and motivation to keep the Saab brand alive. I'm just curious what other car brand parts will be next to be fitted 😂. One more thing, the video and audio quality is on point 👍 Lets try me luck (sway bar) 🤞 thanks
Hi from Pa. USA, I enjoy this build very much and looking forward to another ride along. Keep up the great content. oh yea and that ( Swaybar ) Thing is a cool bit of engineering. I have two 9-5s myself 2000/2008
Swaybar I've ben looking to upgrade my swaybar with a bigger one also the swaybar linkage. Want mine to be stiffer, when running 400++ HP and racing, stiffer is better (that what she said 😂). Great quality inn video and great sound. Much appreciated ❤
Excellent video as always. I have a question, I'm writing you from Madrid (Spain) and I have a 9-5 Aero exactly like that Stage 2 Maptun and I've been looking for years for a rear spoiler like the one from Hirsch and I've never had the luck to find one, either with a link or buying it from you directly if that's the case. If you can help me find one that would be fantastic. Greetings and keep it up, I've been following you for a few years and I love your videos.
I wonder if the control arm is up to the forces it has to take via the drop link. Has been a while I worked on one in earnest, are they massive or hollow there? As the connection is closer to to the swiveling point you'll need extra force to keep the control arm in check.
Swaybar Btw Which values of the wheel alignment did you chose? Because some front wheel drives doe sometimes having negative toe, but think you should have same values as the omega for right feeling if the problems of instability stays?
@@JonasKakarikas I really like it, took me a long time to find a manual, only thing im not involved with is the clutch pedal feel when you're just creeping away in first gear, I've done a clutch delay valve delete which helps, but if you are not careful it can pop out first gear if you don't make sure you've really got it in first gear all the way in, it's a know thing apparently with 535i manual, do miss my 93 2.8 earo from back in the day though lol
Beemer parts, Opel parts and now Nissan. You Jonas are a Rebel! Swaybar
Hahah 😂

Swaybar, just finished installing coilovers on my 9-5 and your engine build videos are going to help me build an engine soon!
💯💯💯
Loving the content, swaybar !
Swaybar. Thanks for the content, Jonas. Very inspiring. I've got to convert one of my 9-5 wagons to rwd.
Do it 😎
Swaybar, love the car man
💯💯💯
Swaybar. Tack för revlia videos!
Hello from Poland 👍
Alltid lika kul att se dina filmer. Riktigt snyggt med 4k och lös mick!
Swaybar
Swaybar , Riktigt bra videos 🚗
loving the build!.. 🎙📷👍
Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer would do good to those door handles.

Awsome build!! Open doors needed when exhaust is puking out! Your brain will thank you later!

Swaybar! Hade blivit perfekt på min og!
Hi from South Africa
Sawy bar, i was satisfied when the oil was 5 liter and there is no leaking 🎉
💯💯💯
Swaybar, 👍
Swaybar
Hoppas jag med 🤝🫡

Hey there! Got an Idea... How the hell do I make an OEM Composite or Carbon Fiber front 9-5 lip. You know the one everyone sells for $250...
Ahhh, just like my dad's 1992 Opel Astra links.
Swaybar till min 9-5 jag fixar i ordning :)
lets go
Swaybar😀

Don't think it will be an issue but sure could be..only one way to find out 😎

Right now its just align with feeling and a few control measurements. but in this case the anti rollbar didnt do any good at all.
Jonas, do you have a Fujimoto oil drain valve or similar? I have one on my 9-3 and it's much much cleaner.
No just regular screw + washer

I have 4 Saabs and have done many many upgrades how did you get your calipers on the back side of the rotor
The front wheelhubs are installed on opposite side, steering rack moved etc
First ! Hello SAAB owners from Russia !
Spraybar
Swaybar! Apostasy, it's anti-roll bar 😝
Be careful with shooting grinder sparks on the car, the will melt in to the glass.
Dont worry, the glas on this car is already destroyed 😎
swaybar :D

sway bar, but I don't own a Saab unfortunately though! lol (f10 535i manual)
What do you think of the 535 f10?

What the motor oil you use?
5w-40 with correct spec
@@JonasKakarikas I mean Brand.
@user-gg4cl3pf3v right now it's from Biltema, otherwise Castrol or mobil1
what engine control unit?
Trionic7 💯
denso Iq24 spark plugs will not work correctly on T5 with red spark plug cartridge?
Not sure
Eller hur 💯
