Yes it is!! This beautiful musician has a God-given talent o it's not surprising that he can play @ least (1) other instrument in addition to his singing. I'll bet he could easily play harmonica AND drums, perhaps trumpet and/or double bass. Not to mention organ. Wow! He and Stevie Wonder are THE musicians. Can't wait to see Stevie's biopic. I hope someone special will play him the way Jamie Foxx played Mr. Charles

This is a great example of the reason why Brother Ray was "The Genius"! He had such a marvelous knack for taking a song and by his interpretation, he would make the music appeal to an audience,who might have never given the original song a chance. RIP, Brother, and thanks for sharing your incredible talents with us all!

Sandra Ekong I used to chat online with a young woman of Korean descent,who was a fan of Ray because her grandfather played his records. That impressed me quite a bit, about hot Ray was crossing multiple generations,and nationalities with his artistry!
This is the first time I was ever disappointed in a Ray Charles number. His renditions of "Georgia" and "America" and so many others were pure gold. But I simply detest all the doodle-beep jazzy crap. I'm 83.

I read in in his autobiography that he actually learned to formally play sax before the piano. When he went to the school for the blind, the piano class was full, so he took up clarinet, and from there too up the sax

Interesting to hear him play sax. Not surprisingly it reminds me of his piano playing solos, my favourite being on “Worried Mind” - a casual feat of elision and laser accuracy and timing to explore the melodic kernel. This puts me in mind of Louis Armstrong. Yep, he’s that good.

Ray Charles was a 100% soul man. Whatever genre he sang, he took it and owned it. He and Aretha Franklin two highly gifted people that graced us all over the world with their wonderful talent, at around the same period, too! What a time it was when these two performed, and recorded, music and I forgot he played sax too! He played it just like he sang it ... Soulfully!

I'm a sax player who came up with Fats Domino music and many locals in the New Orleans music genre` at that time period. I remember struggling with the tricky chord changes to the bridge in "Blueberry Hill." That was with my first band. Maybe a year or so later, two guys joined the service. So, I started a new band called "The Fidelities." Right around that time, "I Got A Woman" came out. We played every tune Ray recorded for years around that time and a few songs he recorded before he was famous like, "Drown In My Own Tears." As mentioned in these comments, I agree with what I heard years ago that Frank Sinatra said, RAY CHARLES IS "THE ONLY GENIUS IN OUR BUSINESS."
