heard all 3, french, English and Russian. As a Russian speaking person, I can honestly say that while English is good and Russian is touching, nothing beats French.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion🖒
Try the Italian one.
And the Spanish one.
@@gems7799 I love how you're defending yourself before someone attacks
@@ayouxy it wasn't a defensive move. I backed my opinion through use of reason. Also... people bother to reply to comments posted 4 years prior?
it’s so good how the original French cast sings in English as well
except for patrick fiori
I love hearing Garou and Daniel Lavoie singing in English.
Same
I love hearing Garou and Daniel Lavoie singing in English.💜❤️
Though no version could ever beat French, as a francophone, I must admit, the English version is great!
It has a lot of the subtext of the song, which is hard to do in a translation, and Phoebus' verse is very much tamer, which I like because he goes for it HARD in the French version. XD
Italian>>>>
I love the French version, but, sadly, can't understand a single word of it which is rather frustrating. So it is nice to hear an English version, just for the sake of being able to actually understand the lyrics. And in my opinion, they have done a fair job of it :)
I'm Nigerian. I don't understand French too well, but I must confess that the song is poetic. Thanks to the English version. But I love the French version more. Garou, much love❤
mon daniel♥♡♥♡
Love the french lyrics...are so poetic...but i really love the passion that the italian words give to the songs....in particular about Frollo Character...so passionate!!!!Great Vittorio Matteucci in the role!
Not a french speaker myself, but French version is the best. Because it is written in that language. No translation -no matter how good they are- can beat the original text.
It's ok but the french version is just breathtaking. Plus, I prefer Patrick as Phœbus.
I like both versions (french & english) equally well.
So beautiful 😍 so glad to find this in English version. I can finally understand it now. Thank you 😊
Steve Balsamo, he is a Welsh singer and songwriter
it is original english version
Belle, is the only word I know that suits her well
When she dances oh, the stories she can tell
A free bird trying out her wings to fly away
And when I see her move I see the hell to pay
She dances naked in my soul and sleep won't come
And it's no use to pray this prayers to Notre Dame
Tell, who'd be the first to raise his hand and throw a stone
I'd hang him high and laugh to see him die alone
Oh Lucifer, please let me go beyond god's law
And run my fingers through her hair Esmeralda
Belle, there is a demon inside her who came from hell
And he turned my eyes from god, and oh, I fell
He put this heat inside me I'm ashamed to tell
Without my god inside I'm just a burning shell
The sin of Eve she has in her I know so well
For want of her I know I'd give my soul to sell
Belle, this gypsy girl is there a soul beneath her skin
And dies she bear the cross of all our human sin
Oh Notre-Dame please let me go beyond god's law
Open the door of love inside Esmeralda
Belle, even though her eyes seem to lead us to hell
She may be more pure more pure than the words can tell
But when she dances feelings come no man can quell
Beneath her rainbow coloured dress there burns the well
My promised one please let me one time be untrue
Before in front of god and man I marry you
Who'd be the man who'd turn from her to save his soul
To be with her I'd let the devil take me whole
Oh, Fleur-De-Lys I am a man who knows no love
I go to open up the rose Esmeralda
She dances naked in my soul and sleep won't come
And it's no use to pray this prayers to Notre Dame
Tell, who'd be the first to raise his hand and throw a stone
I'd hang him high and laugh to see him die alone
Oh Lucifer, please let me go beyond god's law
And run my fingers through her hair Esmeralda
Its amazing .. it moves me everytime in deep ways
very beautiful song. I love the story.
just beautiful!
French is so sad and so emotional, that bring listeners to the top or eve of feeling, english version feels more relax
Beautiful voices
I came after the disaster of the Notre Dame.. I cannot stop listening to this song. How can I stop?
These three men need to sort out their priorities....
Très bien traduit.
Nothing beats the French version in my opinion!!
Very nice this is the best version of this song I've ever heard
I love both the french and english but mostly the french
i heard english, french and italian version.I prefere french version because it is so romantic even if i'm italian
Nothing compared the French version... And I'm american!
+Alison Jay Check out Russian one, they made it even better... And I'm not Russian :)
hydyr han I've heard it, not Russian either, and i lovvvvvveeeeee it
Frollo forever toujours
Belle ❤️❤️
❤❤ ,_, beautiful
I think that French is the most successful
i think so, both play and sing well, i prefer patric and Esmeralda, Bruno than any versions els
wow...

Literally: I set my eyes on her/ I look at her Gypsy clothes
(English) : She dances naked in my soul and sleep won't come.
In the French version Esmeralda is clad. The English one strips her.
Phoebus sounds great in English.
So perfect at all, lyrics and the meaning of the song, singers.......
does anyone know the font used in this video?
great video btw :D
I think the lyrics are better in French. They're really badly translated... But it's still a beautiful version :)
Its not translate, only the english version of the song
Nothing can brat French version. By miles.
french version is way better maybe bc i heard it in french the first time
You have to french to understand how pervert this song actually is
La morochaMica that's French culture I mean not pervert but lovely things and emotionals just you can look at this story as lovely music, as I see from that sight if you look at it from that angle it won't be pervert then (I hate love tho)
Dirty enough in English as well.
The English version is explicit while the French version has a lot of sexual implicit. That's how I understood this comment, haha.
Who's that guy in 2:29 ???
Oumaima Chebbourh Steve Balsamo
I thought that French version was the best...
Now I don't think so :))
Although I don’t speak French, I can honestly say that I don’t think any version can beat French!
THEY BEAT THE FRENCH
No 😂

It's better in french, IMHO
At first I thought this version is nothing compared to the French one but as I kept on listening I started to hear the little subtilities. At present I can say that English is the language of the poetry and this version is way mush richer than the French one.
“ My promised one please let me one time be untrue, before in front of God and man I marry you “ ❤️
aw.. the french lyrics are SO beautiful and poetic, in comparaison it hurts to read/hear those ones, sorry x) (maybe they shouldn't have tried to do an exact translation? cause of course it's not easy)
bubble guppies
i love this verison i think its better then the french but thats just me
Waw... so... less powerful
La version française est meilleure
