As someone who has a adult Bars, i figure the reason he isnt used that much is because he is slow, and vulnerable to smaller dinosaurs attacks, which ironically are the main thing you should be afraid of as bars sincw he has no kick or stomp attack (Meg, Cerat)
I've found a good answer for the small guys is to ignore the tail slam and stick to your regular tail attack and headbutt. Both can hit wide and low with proper aim and do more than enough damage if the weight difference is high enough

Why I think you don't see Bars as much as Trikes is because the former is more of a defensive-style fighter while the Trike is a offensive fighter. Making the Trike far better for agro & or kosing players which plague official severs...
There's a couple of reasons Bars probably isn't played that much. One of the reasons is it's a hadrosaur and a basic looking one at that. When most people see hadrosaurs, they automatically think they're weak (which is obviously wrong when looking at bars's stats). A second reason it's not played much is that while bars has a really good sprint, its trot speed is slow when compared to similar-sized creatures like eotrike or rex, so most people avoid playing it for that reason. The last reason people don't like bars too much is that some of its calls are lackluster and sound boring when compared to other creatures. Obviously, these reasons don't change the fact that bars is extremely good, but most people would rather play eotrike, rex, or spino just because they look or sound cooler than bars.
my main reason as to why I don't play bars or any of the big apexes in official is because growing these guys takes a long time to grow solo and your a target species to everyone wich mean at any age of Juvi, adolescents, and subadult they all will Kos you every time. plus finding a group can be hard at times.
Bars is only weak at juve phase,it isn't easy to take down as adolescent or sub apex,as an adolescent I was able to defend and kill against an adult sucho which is one of the best mid carnivores ingame,as an adult no carnivore can 1v1 bars,it takes at least two trexes to take down a bars
I fought off a sub or adult meg as a bby bars, and the 1st time i got killed it took and eo, a spino, and a sucho an i was i think late adolescent. They may be slow but the defense bars with the defense call is very very tanky
The reason why the bars is not played more is for a multitude of reasons. Yes its big, yes its an apex, yes it has the highest stats out of any official dino in the game. But it also has many issues: 1. Playing solo even with the bars will still not make you invincible, what do I mean by that? The bars is very tanky but numbers is what wins fights in this game, it doesnt matter how much damage you do or how much health you have if the opponent(s) are dogpiling you with an infinite supply of dinos, 2 keep your combat timer going while another 2 either heal up or switch to a fresh dino to keep up the fight. 2. Its not good at Kosing compared to other apexes like ducks or eos. Apexes are not good at kosing point blank, they have neither the speed nor the stamina to kos effectively, especially as a solo. 3. Most of it’s damage comes from it’s tail slam compared to a ducks claws, eos horns or a rexes bite. This means that to effectively fight you will have to be on the defensive vs being on the offensive. 4. Its the most boring looking apex compared to a rex or spino. Its just a giant hadrosaur, how terrifying. While I agree that its a good dinosaur, its just not good in this current climate, its a free trophy to a kos group and it cannot really finish fights as a solo either. Mixpacks would rather play a rex or an eo because their damage comes from the front while also being tankier than 90% of the cast. Tl;dr there are better options for different things then the bars despite it having the highest stats in the official game.
One more thing I forgot to mention, the regular walk speed on this thing is absolutely atrocious, combine that with the food + water drain rate even with the regular herbivore diet, you will find yourself starving to death more often then not.
What makes Bars exciting to me, however, is the sheer amount of empty ability slots it has. Clearly, they have something planned for him. And hopefully it goes some way towards fixing the above issues that you listed that CAN be fixed (the kos thing about Apexes is part of their design, which I'm for 'cause the last thing they need is a big AND fast dino for their asshole behaviour; play how you want, but, killing anything and everything you see is just dickish).
I mean, he's definitely not a pushover, I've survived squads of medium dinos (mostly Allows and Pycnos) , Two Ducks (always be careful at YG) , and a Spino and his babys (by a beach). Play defensively, put your head in a wall, and force them to attack your tail. Sure, it's a braindead way to play, but Ive never lost a fight using this method tbh, and some people even recognize what I'm doing, and they back off >:) And if you can't do that, then find a rock/ cliff you can get on, and it serves the same purpose

So, the Apex scissors-rock-paper I mentioned. Outside of Duck, the Apexes are VERY even in terms of one on ones. Bars beats Eo, unless the Eo sharpens and the Bars doesn't use the Defense call. Eo kills Spoon, even if it doesn't sharpen. But the Spoon has the advantage, even on land, against a Rex, and the Rex n' Eo are very even (and Rex can kill a Bars due to the raw damage out-DPS Bar's slam). As is Bars and Spoon; very even, can go either way. Duck needs something, not even anything drastic; just something to apply pressure like Bleed. Duck is really good against things smaller than it, but Apexes really don't have much an issue with Duck if they're even in skill. The reason I think Bars isn't too popular is because his speed; despite the high sprint speed that he has, his walking/trotting speed is atrociously slow. He also eats and drinks a MASSIVE amount of food and water, it's kinda hard to keep in a single area. As for the tankiness...well, unfortunately, Ano ruins any competition in terms of capacity to withstand damage. I’ve been finding it hard to grow my bars, it’s slow going and without a herd I’m easy pickings. My footsteps are so loud 😅 It’ll been a stealth game for me
It's probably just me or a few people but I'm guessing why there's not much bars on officials at least is because it's not as visually appealing compared to it's other Herbi peers, it's not winning any beauty pageants compared to the Ceratopsians & stegos out there 😢
Probably the best non semi aquatic Solo Apex. I cant tell you how many times ive sutvived attacks with this guy, im survived groups of Apexs carnis, and sent them running after sticking my head inside a wall, and tail slamming them😭 I definitely think its the best Solo Apex if you dont care much for PvP (but will pretty much win any match up you get into) and just want to chill and walkaround, because im not even good at pvp, and i havent died once as a Adult Bars (Ive died once, and that was to a MEGAPACK mixpack, there was no walls and i got bonebroken by a ano, Savanah btw💀 )
I thought Spino and Rex were tied at 7000 (honestly i thought it was 7500 but you said 7000(for Bars)). I play Spino so i thought i knew. But 50% more HP is crazy
puts into perspective how powerful and successful hadrosaurs were given that Bars is pretty average in size for a hadrosaur and yet is the best playable in the game.
ngl 2 pycnos wil easy kill a bars same for allos,concs,ceras,suchos and a rex can stil kill u in a 1vs1 its just a 50%win rate and lets not forget that thing needs to many berries to stay alive its only viable if ur the only herb in area otherwise ur just gonna starve

I grew one yesterday within 10 hours. I grew it in swamp, birch forest and the little "cave sea" south of burned forest.

They were before night stalker (I think that was the update anyway) when they were nerfed to 6500
