I have a new Old Timer 858 that I broke the Spa blade on. Who can I send it to in order to get the blade replaced? Thanks, in advance.
Maybe Schrade. I’m really not familiar with their warranty service now since the knives are made in China. I would start there.
Best knife channel on RUclips

🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲
I've got a shrade similar to that but mine has a golden retriever on the Handel's and says on the blade sporting dogs limited edition, they are cool knives but the bolsters are not brass on mine tho
Doc, you know what I think would assist your cleaning and knife repairs are those cans of compressed air they use to clean keyboards and electronics. Works awesome getting dust and debris and grit particles out of tight spaces.
Great Idea!! Thanks!
Try putting the flitz on the never dull cotton! Works great!
Thanks for sharing this!!
The camp knife looks like a Imperial 😊
Buck has a Veteran discount 🇺🇸
Doc I had a large parker by Schrade 2 blade folding hunter with2 bears in a tree scrimshaw. Regret getting rid of it! I'm with you on cleaning old knives, ain't nothing more relaxing. Beautiful scrimshaw friend!
Thank you sir!!
Exactly knife Dr. When I get an older used knife I like to get out the Dawn dish soap and an old tooth brush make the faucet water a little bit warm, and scrub away. Like you said it makes you like a part of it more. Then dry it by hand with a towel, then air dry. Then I polish it. I just love doing it, it brings the knife back to life. Well, stay safe, blessings to you, cheers. 😊 Man that scrimshaw turned out nice, really nice.
Thanks for sharing this!!
Great video. Understand what you mean about the connection. I have an old timer 12ot and an Imperial fixed blade that had broke tips. I don’t have a grinder or belt sander but I used a flat file to re-profile the blades. First time I had ever tried anything like that. Was very pleased with results. Just something about doing things like that gives you a great feeling inside. Take care.
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing this!!
I found an old fishing knife behind an old workbench in my garage. We saved my wife’s parents house and remodeled it. The knife had black tar on the white scales and the blades didn’t open. they were black and I wondered why and now I know it was vinegar. I cleaned it up and now everyone that sees it wants it. Next is my father in laws boyscout knife. It’s intact but rusted together.
Thanks for sharing this!!
Good video Kevin as always.. you’re such a great guy, you can be chicken hawk tough during an attack, then turn right around and be tender hearted. But above all my friend, you’re a good man, great American, honest and a man’s man.. I, just like you grew up where a hand shake and your word was all that was needed, no lawyer involved.. I feel most all who follow you are the same way, even if they are younger than us and didn’t get to experience those days, your videos and behavior is teaching them how to get back to those days, kids need that..
Awesome sir! Thank you for sharing this!! God Bless!!
What are the chances that a Marine being in Operation Sharp Edge would end up loving all things sharp. Great video brother. Stay sharp.
Thank you sir!! Never thought of that!! LOL

LOL. That makes a good bonding!
Have you ever tried Gunny oil?
I use it on my knives and it’s really great. Takes only a bit and you get a tip that fits nicely to the joints! Use very little and it goes a long way.
Thank you!!

I love to watch your work and your finds- Have you ever found a knife from 1947?
I can’t say that I have. It’s hard to pinpoint the exact year only the era it was made according to the stamp on the tang. Case XX Knives you can from 1970 and up.
keep an eye out- I was born in 1947- I'm old@@theknifedoctor

Smileys Flea Market in south Macon Ga usually has people selling pocket knife’s on the weekend along with tools and such. Worth checking out. Never know what you find and it’s a fair size place.
I go there several times a year!! Thanks for the suggestion though!!
That was so awesome…
Thank you!!
Hello Knife Doctor,
15 March 1971, a day I will never forget, my Platoon 103 graduated from the United States Marine Corps recruit depot at Paris Island South Carolina . I was ecstatic to be gone from that place, but will be forever thankful for the experience. I got to Paris Island on New Years Eve a Friday on 31 December 1970 and thankfully left today, 53 years ago. Doctor, you nailed it with Marines being the ultimate Fraternity and believe me we will “Never Forget” our times in the Corps !!! Thank you for your service and especially for your videos, they make my day.
Semper Fidelis, dan
Awesome sir!! Thank you for your service as well sir!! Thank you so
Much for watching!! God Bless Sir! Semper-Fi!!
Old factory grease that dried up is likely what you dug out.
My first 3 years of service was serving aboard the USS Pennsylvania. There is no way to explain that feeling you have to people who've never experienced it. It can only be understood by others that share those experiences and feelings. Still there's no words to express the feelings accurately or clearly. Thanks for your service Kevin.
Thank you sir!! Thank you for your service!!
That's awesome !!!😊
Great video, DOC.
Semper Fi, Marine...
