  • Samson was incredibly useful in the plan of the Lord, yet he was also almost entirely faithless, frequently forgoing the will of God in favor of his own plans. Atlanta pastor John Onwuchekwa reflects on Samson’s life in order to exhort pastors that, “Usefulness is a terrible North Star for ministry. . . . You can be useful on your way to Hell.”
But what’s the alternative to usefulness? Is there one? Yes, Onwuchekwa says, pastors must concern themselves first and foremost with being faithful, while letting God determine the rest.
