I agree..brings tears to my eyes, and makes me shiver...very real human experience.., not acting.. although he is performing. It must have been hard to sing this.

I am probably like most of the viewing population who have no clue what G5 is and I think this guy is fabulous. saw it live twice (preferred Rory in show) but loved Ben.
I don't know what G5 is either, but like you, I think Ben is fantastic. I was originally interested in this version because I love JCSS and Tim Minchin and was interested to see what he would do as Judas. But then I discovered Ben Forster and hey, I'm super impressed, not only in his vocal ability but in his portrayal of Jesus. Brilliant!!

While I love Ben's singing, I don't like his G5. It's just a strong falsetto. I don't know, I guess it's too pretty. I prefer a heady mixed voice. His G5 just doesn't offer a satisfying release of all that this song builds up to. It builds up to the G5 climax, but the climax is not strong enough to justify the buildup.
He hits all the notes, but his falsetto sounds like just that. Simply singing in falsetto. There's no power. It lacks the desperate cry that the G5 in "Why should I die" is meant to convey.
@@thatssofetch3481 they did autotune all the main cast, just Minchin's voice is more synth-like so its most noticeable on him, that's why you haven't heard about the others

This is so disappointing. Not for the performance or anything of that. But the unnecessary auto tuning is just obnoxious.
