It’s a great album. I actually didn’t fancy it to much from the first few listens but one thing I’ve learnt from listening to the Weeknd is that his songs grow on you and sound better the more you listen to them, now it’s one of my go too’s. They probably just haven’t listened to it enough.

There’s songs that stand out with the first listen for example blinding lights has a catchy tune to it and you’ll usually like it after the first if not second listen & then there’s other songs that need like 3-4+ listens before you start to feel the groove of it, they’re usually the songs that are most enjoyable to.

But after all this time and coming back to listen to it, I think this song is him talking to himself. He's talking about never being able to go back to a 'normal' life because of who he is now. He made the decision to pursue the fame and fortune, and now he'll never see the face of a normal life anymore. That's who the 'she' is in this song - the life he'll never get back. But that's okay, because he adapted anyway.
