In my opinion, the quality of the builds, quality of the parts, quality of printing and quality of instructions have all got worse, and all this whilst the prices continually increase.
Lego does not offer the premium product it once did, the only premium thing about Lego now is the price. It does seem that they are more bothered about the quantity of sets they release, than the quality, in particular the large expensive sets that we now see several a month as apposed to 1 or 2 a year.
Lego's quality has declined in my opinion, and their pricing is insane. The recently announced set for the Lego Marvel theme, the set for the Marvels movie, is a great illustration of this. It's a 420 piece set with three mini figures that is priced at $89.99 American. A 420 piece set would be overpriced at 60, never mind 90.
With them doing more expensive sets, they might look at it as if someone buys one $500 set, it's equal to someone buying ten $50 sets. Especially for people who don't buy many sets every year.
I think it depends on the designers like gringotts and Rivendell are fantastic but like some others not so great. A lot of Harry Potter sets have gone that way with smaller sets. They are making a lot and are just leaning on licensed properties too much than making original sets and concepts, which are fine but make something fresh. Some things they are getting lazy with like they increased the price and u don’t get much of a good design or set. Idk I’ve definitely noticed a lack of quality and more effort in quantity. I’m also a person that can’t buy a mega set every six months I buy one once a year cause of cost and space so they need to work on customer necessities more.

The obsession with detail and scale coupled with the decline in overall quality has made me turn down their recent products, instead i purchase used vintage sets which i find a lot more fun to build, and because of their simplicity and elegance it's much more fun to experiment with, Lego typically used to encourage creativity and unique builds, but now it's core concept is overly expensive shelf queens, to be built and displayed and never to be touched again.
I think I'm out of lego now, I miss the old themes like space, pirates, medieval but when they do bring a theme back, it's only like 1 big set or a few small ones like indy and even cancelled one of the sets and probably a wave that was supposed to promote the film
My current problem with the designs currently being offered. I have actually started buying non LEGO product because of the options available. I mean really how many cops do you need in your LEGO town?

Good video but you stopped short of offering a real conclusion or prediction for the future. For example: do you think this is a trend? Will Lego regress further? Is this cost cutting to either cover inflation/increase profits? Will they be motivated to improve? Your opinion would be interesting.
I don’t agree that some of the lego sets that you’ve shown are bad many of them just don't have a good value for the set, but each one with its opinion with that said, everyone send this video to legooo!!!
I'm glad they stopped cloth pieces. the Cloaks from 2001 and that era of Potter have all frayed and fallen apart. I'm more of a fan of printed cloaks (when done correctly like the first CMF series and not the recent black plain legs)
Lego has really left cloth for figures to printing now a days and its horrible since the cost to make them IS SO CHEAP custom companys are charging 2$ each and for a multi billion dollar company its so easy and cheap to produce them.

No, I don’t believe it is. Every set I have purchased recently has been excellent.
There is one principal reason why Lego is getting worse and worse: QAULITY OF THE PLASTIC. compare to what was 20-30years ago. Better colors, no scratches, no marks, harder, no discolors..Lego was the best among others because of its quality. Which now..does not exist
