Yes, you can paint Dacron sails. We have a clear coat if you like the colors, or you can apply EkoFill and paint as you would in the normal process, but clean it good with lacquer thinner or acetone to remove any contaminants from the manufacturing process.
What if your repainting a fabric plane, Do you sand off the old paint or is there a stripper for Fabric...I'll be painting my plane soon.Thank You, enjoyed the Video very much, good painting lesson
+vince denimarck The new finish will only be as good as the finish that is underneath it. Is your old paint still flexible and not cracking? If your old paint is in good shape, you can scuff it with 320 sand paper, put a coat or two of EkoPrime on it. That will also need lightly sanded. Then topcoat. I would not recommend using stripper on any large areas of fabric. While it should not hurt the fabric itself, it may soften the glue joints. The best way to make an old plane look new, is to re cover it. Then you are pretty much back to a new airplane! Covering an airplane is time consuming, but it is a lot of fun!
Thanks for your experience, I enjoy working on cars and planes, but metal is some what different. The Fabric is like new (7 Years old) No Cracking. Ok so ... Sand with 320 and EkoPrime If need be I can add many coats of EkoPrime, Never used it before, Iam glad I watched your Video. I'll continue to watch all of them, Thanks Again... Vince
Keep the great videos coming. I use your system for a covering demo at our museum. My L-4 will be covered using your system.
Hi Andy, Vince Again, I was wondering can you paint sails on experimentals...?

Great videos. Do you add a clear coat after the 5th coat?
No need for clear coat. It has a gloss finish.

That is correct. You can add several coats of EkoPrime. But it does add weight, so don't get too carried away.
Thanks!
Andy
Thank You Andy, I didn't realize that. Thanks Again
