    Love seeing an expert at work and doing the right job. I inherited an old SGS 2-33 glider needing to be recovered. Now for the courage to tackle this job. Many thanks.

    Beautiful work. I enjoyed watching this come together. Only suggestion I would add is that the aluminum access panel reinforcement mentioned at 1:25:30 should be deburred and a slight bevel lightly sanded in across all edges and outside corners. This would prevent any sharp points or rough edges from digging into the fabric.

    Your videos are very interesting and informative. It's always nice to see a professional share their talent and techniques. You have a very casual way of explaining without lecturing and making the processes interesting. It's not often that we get a chance to look over the shoulder of a craftsman at this level. Thank you for all the time and effort you have invested in making these videos.

    Well done, great delivery, and logical layout. Just bought my second (thankfully airworthy and not in need of this procedure) Tri Pacer. Great plane. Happy Landings.

    Great video. What blast media did you use on this and what would you use on a new fuselage?

      My preference is to use soda. I have a guy locally that does a great job. He did my 46 cub and you could still see the ink stamps on the sheet metal from the factory! It did not hurt any of the delicate parts, but cleaned it really nice.

    Will this system go on a powder coated airframe?

    • @StewartSystems
      @StewartSystems  2 года назад

      Yes! In areas where the fabric terminates and there is no overlap such as around a door frame, etc.. we recommend scuffing it for better adhesion. But powder coating is no different than a painted surface as far as our system is concerned.

      The fabric is Ceconite 102. We also use Superflite. Either is fine.

    imagine covering with linen and without the benefit of shrink fabric as we enjoy these days. Compound curves are easily negotiated and mistakes are hidden by technology that were only dreamed of . It is not the "black art" that it was perhaps perceived. Grab a piece of Stits or Ceconite and get busy learning.
