I loved this tier-list video, Larry. Can I ask you where you went (website, software, whatever) to get access to that tier-list template? I think it would be a fun thing to do. Thanks! Jeff
This was really fun, Larry. Please do more tier videos like this one. I even came close to guessing where you would place them. Three I missed by quite a bit: 1) London Town (I guessed you would place it at B or even C), 2) Flowers in the Dirt (guessed you'd place it at A) and 3) Electric Arguments (thought you'd place it at A since you like Zappa, Can and other experimental bands). As for myself, I generally agree with you, but I'd place Run Devil Run and Electric Arguments at A and Flaming Pie, Driving Rain and London Town at B or C.
I love this tier thing you did. I’m trying to remember if you’ve ever done this before. I adore Paul McCartney & his music. My top three albums by him would be flaming pie, off the ground, & McCartney2.😊
Good job with Ram! Amazing album. I think my personal favorites are ram, band in the run and wild life. Wild is so very underrated and it just encapsulates that part of Paul’s life post Beatles where he was just having fun with the band, I’m not that old to have been around when it came out but it’s nostalgic for me
Thanks for this McCartney album list Larry, I've just realised that I don't even have the Amoeba Gig on CD. I need to get that and give it a listen. All of these lists are individual and subjective. I mean top of my list would be Band On The Run, Ram, Back To The Egg, Venus And Mars, Flowers In The Dirt, and Tug Of War... I do love the Russian Album though, it's got that Friday night Bar Band vibe to it. Not played that in a while, need to give that a deep dive sometime this week. I just love all the solo Beatles album out put. Now that would be a great idea for an album Tier List solo Beatles albums... There was one McCartney album missing though, and that was Liverpool Sound Collage, but that's just me, always loved McCartney's experimental projects, and his classical stuff.
Top Albums: Band On The Run, McCartney, RAM, Venus and Mars, Wings At The Speed of Sound,McCartney II,Flaming Pie, Chaos and Creation In The Backyard, New, Egypt Station, McCartney III
McCa & Larry together in one video? Hot diggity dang!!🤸thinking London Town'll be on here. Kicked Around is sheer genius: up there with the best Beatles. I wonder why.
My top 5 are: Ram Band On The Run Red Rose Speedway Venus And Mars Chaos And Creation In The Backyard It's basically the same as yours but in a different sequence! I really don't get how so many people dislike Red Rose Speedway... I even love the track called Loup which many dislike. Paul created some miracle work in the 70s, with Ram being one of the greatest Rock albums ever recorded.
Hmmmmm? Very thought provoking 🤔. I'm more of a John fan than a Paul, so the only "S" tier of McCartney albums I would give would be "Chaos". Trust me Larry, you and I have never agreed so much on an album 😮. "Chaos" is one of my favorite albums of all time. I almost thought you were going to put "New" on the "A" Tier, then you pulled it back and I was like Nooooo!!! Because "New" is like my second favorite McCartney album. But, very interesting video. I'm going to save this and study it. I have always wanted to get more into McCartney, but could never figure out where to start. Hmmmmm? Very, very interesting 🤔.
Hey Larry Great tier system!!! MTV Unplugged would be on my S tier after Wings over America. I noticed you didn’t have that as an album to rank. If you have never listened to it I highly recommend it. Take Care Larry
Venus And Mars sneaks it due to the 2 instrumental tv theme tunes for Crossroads and The Zoo Gang. Think yourself fortunate that Canadian TV missed out on Crossroads.
Larry,in my opinion Paul McCartney's top tier albums are Band On The Run,Venus and Mars,Ram,Flaming Pie,Egypt Station,McCartney,Chaos and Creation and Tug of War,the others are good but a knotch below and his worse real albums are Driving Rain,Wings At The Speed Of Sound,Wild Life and Pipes of Peace with Drving Rain Paul's worst album. Bob
Larry, Have you ever listened to Paul McCartney's classical albums like Liverpool Oratorio, Paul McCartney's Standing Stone, or Ecce Cor Meum? Me either. And didn't he have an album in 1967 - The Family Way? Have you ever heard that? I haven't. I like your list. I really enjoy Red Rose Speedway. I wonder where he got the name from. There isn't even a song named Red Rose Speedway (yet). Have a great day!
Working Classical 1999 is a great album! There are others also: Liverpool Oratorio 1991 Standing Stone 1997 Ecce Cor Meum 2006 - the BEST of the batch! Ocean's Kingdom 2011
I’ve got a weird soft spot for Pipes of Peace, but I feel that his lyrics are so weak on that album that it really brings it down (except Say Say Say and Pipes of Peace). Average person is just awful 😂
I'm super happy that you give Chaos and Creation the love it deserves!
"Flowers in the dirt" is one of McCartney's best album from that time. But we all have our different views. Thank you!
yeah from 1989..generally not the best era for music production wise
Good choices! I think you nailed the list.

Thanks Jeff! I got my tier list from tiermaker.com Just upload the album covers and then I record it all in OBS Studio.
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin Thanks Larry!!

I like these Tier Lists, they give me a good idea where to start if I want to start collecting a particular artist. I trust your musical expertise.

Excellent video and a really novel way of presenting a rankings video. Well done mate. Dave✅✅
I agree with "Red Rose Speedway" ... it might be my favorite McCartney album (especially the 2lp version)
Love the tier lists, I'd request a Beatles video but we all know they'd all be S (okay, maybe A for Yellow Submarine haha)
A very good list!. Tier maker is a lot of fun, I’d love to see you do more tier lists 👍xxx.
Coming soon!

I've never heard that album.
Your ranking is almost identical to mine... i just have thm in a different order 😝🤪😂
Good video .

More on the way, thanks!

The hardest decision for me is whether I like Venus and Mars or Band on the Run better
Flaming Pie is up there for me, one of my favorites. Venus and Mars is my favorite of the solo stuff though.

Wow Pipes of Peace in D Tier. That’s an S Tier album for me. McCartney 3 would be in D Tier for me.
Great list.
Off the Ground is indeed very underrated.
I love this list but I would put TUG OF WAR in S tier.
Have you done a tier ranking like this for Lou Reed or BOC yet?
Not yet but I will.
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin Sweet!
Hi larry love these tier lists, my favorite Paul McCartney album has to be Ram 👍✌️
Larry, Have you ever listened to Paul McCartney's classical albums like Liverpool Oratorio, Paul McCartney's Standing Stone, or Ecce Cor Meum? Me either. Never have listened to those albums you mentioned.
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin you should try Ecce Cor Meum
Cool list. Like these. Could you do BOC or YES
In time, probably. Thanks!
Red Rose Speedway is third for me, as well. And even better as a double album!
The double album configuration makes a big difference. It would go from "B" to an "A" tier for me, then.
Would like to see you rank Joni Mitchell album’s Larry
👍 from the 🐈!
Venus and mars is definitely underrated
I think most Paul McCartney fans rate "Venus And Mars" very highly. The "Wings Over America" album and "Rockshow" film help with that.
@@jameswilson7084 I just mean it isn’t as talked about as band on the run or ram
"Flowers in the dirt" is ranked as C?...
That is correct. You can like it more if you like.
Top pick is correct but 2 is S tier idc
Like Ram the best, good songs on every album, you forget one
Classical works
I didn't forget one... these are the albums I own and have heard. I never bought his classical albums.
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin his album with Elvis Costello is also cool...
Working Classical 1999 is a great album!
There are others also:
Liverpool Oratorio 1991
Standing Stone 1997
Ecce Cor Meum 2006 - the BEST of the batch!
Ocean's Kingdom 2011
How can Pipes Of Peace be lower than McCartney III?
Because I like it much more?
Pipes Of Peace is the worse, no doubt.
I’ve got a weird soft spot for Pipes of Peace, but I feel that his lyrics are so weak on that album that it really brings it down (except Say Say Say and Pipes of Peace).
