    Very true analyses. I like to take my V-rod up to the North GA mountains but I have to hustle to keep up with my buddies that are riding sports/touring bikes. I can keep up on moderate turns and straight runs but it's challenge around the sharp hair pin curves up in the hills due to longer base and the fat back tire. Good thing is this baby has a ton of torque so it hauls ass whenever I pull the ear on the little bit of straights in mountainous terrains. All in all- very fun bike and great looking too. Thinking of adding the Ducati Multistrada Grand Tour to the garage for the mountains and I'll probably use both for long distance trips. I can get about 3 hours out of rod before stopping and stretching legs which isn't bad.

      The Multistrada is a sweet bike! Can't go wrong with that one...and I agree about the v-rod. I can hang with the sport bikes until the sharp hair pin curves...theres just not enough lean angle to hit them right. But I still have as much fun on the v-rod as I do on the R1...they're just fun in different ways. Blood Mountain is one of my favorite spots to ride. Maybe I'll see ya up there one day 🤘🏾 Ride safe!

      Love the GA mountains! I’m just south of blood mountain. It definitely depends on my mood if I pull out the Scout Bobber 1200, or the Panigale 1199s. Both are a good time. And yes insurance in the Duc is 3x more even though the bobber is brand new and the Duc is a few years older.

      You're comparing bikes that serve different purposes...what's the point?

    Cruisers can go 0-100 in 5-6 seconds and that's enough time to think about maybe not doing that in the streets lmao.
    Also the torque is a physical reminder of what you're doing.

    Cool video. I have an 09 v rod muscle and a 2012 cbr1000rr. Previously owned a 2005 r1 before the cbr. Love both bikes. The v rod is a great bike. I get way better gas mileage on my cbr than I do on the v rod. Normal commute I get 29-30 mpg on the v rod and 36-38 on the cbr1000rr. I got 41 mpg on the cbr the other day. Not sure how you’re getting the opposite lol. Enjoy that v rod. I bought mine for $7000 with 2600 miles from a good friend. It currently has 21,000 trouble free miles. I mount and install my own tires. I put a 260 on the rear. That tire was a fight to get on lol. My cbr has 11,500. Bought it with 4500 miles. If I absolutely had to sell one of them it would be the cbr. Love that bike but man that v rod is slick. Ride safe.

      Awesome combination of bikes! Ive had several CBRs and loved em. I probably get worse gas mileage on the R1 because I ride it like an a**hole! Haha I tend to just cruise on the v rod. Sounds like you got a great deal on yours...I'd love to put a 260 rear on mine. Did you notice much of a difference in the handling?

    • @TheTyrone1981

      FastLaneD what’s up man?! Actually I feel the 260 handled better than the stock 240 on the v rod just because the metzeler tire I have on has a more domed profile. I wish I could send pics through here. I’ve had the v rod leaned over to the edge of the tire. I don’t even lean any of my sports bikes that far lol. The 260 fits perfectly fine with no modifications. Hit me up on fb messenger sometime bro. Tyrone Thompson in Killeen TX. Lol I don’t ride the cbr super crazy but I hit triple digits almost daily for a short spurt then cruise. My fun is getting to speed fast then chilling. I got arrested a couple years ago for speeding on another cbr I had so that slowed me way down these days lol

    If I can only have one, I'd go for the V-Rod. Most versatile and comfortable of the two.

    Great review bruh but what you have there is not a typical cruiser. It is a sport bike in a cruiser chassis. I've owned an R1 and now own a V-rod. V-rod is overall more usable and looks sickkkkkk.

    I’m from nyc and I’m thorn between a yamaha yzf-r3 and a v rod, I plan to drive around the city but also wanna take every month trips to philly which is 3 hours, which one should I get?

    • @FastLaneD
      @FastLaneD  4 года назад +2

      If I were to go on a 3 hour ride I would take the v rod! If I were in the city it would depend on the traffic, road conditions, parking situation, etc...but more than likely the v rod
