Sorry to say.. the unnecessary forced vibratos of Sonu sounding terrible here… SPB version and RDB version are still unmatchable! Sonu hasn’t even got the composition right and the pauses are misplaced terribly.
I wish sonu had tried this song in his own style rather than trying to copy SPB ji… sonu’s attempt no where close to magic ! No offense… I love sonu… but the forced improvisations here totally messed up this performance!

This song is too tough to sing as u can see that sonu has to close his eyes to sing whereas i never saw sonu to sing any song while eyes ckosed. He missed or we can say couldn't completed some words while singing.... I have seen spb sir so many times while singing this song and he used to sang so comfortably..... Sonu Nigam is definitely a great singer. And some of his kannada songs are superb. But cant compare him to SPB. If SPB starts the song there is some magic in his voice which no one has. His voice is incomparable and as Sonu Nigam tells SPB is a legend. SPB , Mohd Rafi and Kishore Kumar are truly legends

He deserves soo much for all the talent he has! I know people might take offense but he is simply the best. Name one who has such a divine voice, is the perfect host and anchor, has a great understanding of music,so quick at catching other singers styles and learning from them. But still so humble respecting both elders and juniors. Teaching their importance to the upcoming generation. Who'll do the same for Sonu? I don't think there is anyone for him.

He sang the entire song with a lot of vibrato in voice than required. We need to understand how much vibrato is necessary for any song to bring emotion into it. If it's overly done, it spoils the whole song....this is just my observation.

I don't think that we have to be gurus to analyze something. Moreover, nobody is a legend in singing, in my opinion. Singing is a lifelong journey, and we need to strive for perfection. Many famous singers make a lot of mistakes in recordings. Mistakes like prounciation, lack of clarity in words, wrong technique, unnecessary vibrato, unnecessary gamakas than required, shouting, etc. Listen to the same song sung by s.p.balu ji , deeply analyze and see the simplicity, elegance, and emotion in singing..I am not comparing or disrespecting anybody here..that's not my intention...I am trying to give the reference point. Anything that's overly done than required loses its naturality and sounds artificial. Moreover, it's not pleasant to ears. Anything that's not pleasant to our ears is not music, in my opinion.
