Azucena, I like her design and her fighting style looks fun since it seems like she's doing Lucha Libre and it reminds me of El Blaze from the Virtua Fighter series which is pretty cool. But her "personality" is both annoying and not even a real personality to begin with. Being obsessed with coffee is not a personality and the fact that she references it in like 98% of her lines is just annoying. I don't mind non-serious characters, Lei Wulong and Lili aren't serious characters and I like them. And it's like come on, you don't see a character like Leo being obsessed with beer because she's German or Steve being obsessed with tea because he's a British. I just think that they should've thought on Azucea's "personality" a bit more because from a first impressions perspective, it's pretty stupid which slightly ruins an almost solid new TEKKEN character. Like I'm sorry but you know it's bad when you ask Peruvian people what they think of a character like this and they say that they find it cringe lol I'm still willing to give the benefit of the (heavy) doubt that there might be more to her when the game comes out. Victor, I like his design but I just cannot with the laser sword and all his gadgets. I acknowledge that this one is due more to personal taste because I'm one of the fans who doesn't like this inclusion of adding weapons to the characters and incorporating it into their movesets. Yeah we had Yoshimitsu with his sword from the beginning but he was just one character so it wasn't all that distracting. I'm just someone who always preferred traditional hand-to-hand fighting styles in Tekken and Victor's fighting just isn't something I find interesting. That said, I do like his design and unlike Master Raven, I think he actually holds the role of Raven's superior very well and I can this character seriously. At least he looks like an elder and has an actual name lol And finally Reina, I'm just gonna be honest in saying that I find her to be the least interesting design-wise. I'm just not into cute anime girl designs all that much. To me, she's just Asuka but with black hair and is potentially evil. And her character just annoys me in the sense that not through necessarily her but the dev team of being afraid to include older women in the series (who actually LOOK older, none of this "tell but not show" -looking at Lidia here -).. I was shocked to learn here that Mari Shimazaki designed her because I love her Bayonetta designs so she's certainly versatile with her skills but again, I'm just really not feeling this specific character's design. But the writing is on the wall that this character is clearly gen-z coded so it's probably not surprising that it wouldn't really appeal to a middle-millennial who is not into anime-girl designs all that much to begin with. That said, her fighting style is very nicely done, I love how you can see the real world influence in it and that they didn't make her base fighting style over the top like Victor's. So I can appreciate that. I just honestly can't take this character seriously as some big potential threat in the story lol. As for post-release content, it's pretty obvious that they're gonna be doing DLC characters of the usual legacy suspects (who should've been included in the base game). I know that this is just the norm now for fighting games but I really miss the days when you had to play through the game to unlock characters, it's what helped with a fighting game's replay value, especially for those of us who aren't really online players. OVerall though, as someone who found Tekken 7 very lackluster, Tekken 8 is off to a promising start because even though I'm personally not "hyped" for any of the newcomers, they did the sense of going back to the traditional way of including 3 new characters as opposed to what they did with Tekken 7 giving us more than that and most of them just being well... Lame lol. So this is definitely a nice return to form 🙂
Personally i vibe with all 3 of the newcomers Victor and Reina are definitely the ones i prefer the most but i still rock with Azucena This games looking great.
I will be a little interested in a new character with Malaysian origin with having the martial art Silat along with a Polynesian Character with one of their traditional martial art style
Out of all 3 of them, Victor is my number 1 favorite newcomer. Reina I didn’t think I would like that much originally but her gameplay surprised me. And I wanna play her. But Victor? He surpassed all my expectations. He’s a character who’s literally tailor made for me. Too main right next to my boy Raven.
Tekken fans are the only fighting game fan base toxic enough to say stupid things “character A or B don’t deserve to be in the game” that’s for the developers to decide based on statistics and information not cringy gate keeping Tekken elitist. Tekken fans are even ungrateful when it comes to guest characters no other fighting fan base acts this way.
@@salieri89 Not true at all. I am very familiar with the SF and smash bro communities, Ive been part of many fighting games communities for years and no other community actively is as ungrateful and snobby as the tekken community. Smash bros is a bit similar when it comes to the roster when it’s a on the topic of who makes it but that’s where the similarities end and it’s not as severe. Everyone other player base get extremely excited over the idea of guest characters or looks back fondly on past guests but not the tekken community they say stupid things like “that character isn’t playing tekken and doesn’t belong” or “guest characters ruin the tekken experience” no other community acts this way. They prefer a character that’s pretty much a 2nd random slot over a completely unique and new addition to the game. Don’t you dare say that’s because they were broken because the most broken characters in tekken history were all tekken original characters like bob, Leroy, fakurahm etc… Then the tekken community has the nerve to say stuff like character like Alisa or Chloe doesn’t belong because the game is one of the most realistic fighting games that’s based on real fighting styles which is a blatant lie because characters like Alisa who is a robot fit right in with a game full other robots, devils, vampires, dinosaurs with boxing gloves, ninjas, and demonic creatures that breathe fire. There’s so much more stupidity that I could list lol but no other community goes this far with their nonsense.
I don't really like this idea of "deserve" Like tekken shouldn't be introducing new characters. I miss my legacy characters too, big fan of Kuni, Lei, Julia and Eddy, Armor King and I quite like lidia but not everyone can return, if tekken keeps recycling it's roster than we'll be stuck with the same people forever. I think Reina and Victor are amazing additions. Tekken isn't above being over the top like people want to claim that it is when Bears, kangaroos, devils, some weird alien chimera, and a guy literally flying with his goddamn sword is in this series. I'm not as hot on azucena but she doesn't look bad, i'm just not overly invested in her. I'm more than happy to give these guys a chance.
I gotta love how Harada was like "I like Peru so much I'm going to disregard some things about the country and make the character a dancing one." I mean, good for him, he didn't go into stereotypes.
@101mrcrazyman I wouldn't know either, but Azucena is not someone you would recon from South America. When she mentioned coffee and was speaking Spanish, I thought she was Colombian, but there we are. Proven wrong by Harada.

Of course Kuni return in T8. Because her story hasn't started yet from T7. Asuka and Jun in one game lol, they use same moves. But i see Victor don't use a lot of Kuni moveset, just like 2 or 3 moves. Just like he use some Lars or Raven moves, but they in the game.

Why are you saying “WE prefer more grounded realistic fighting styles”??? That’s not an accurate description of tekken lol. There are animals, robots, dinosaurs, demons and devil in the game. Only delusional tekken elitist still think Tekken is some grounded realistic fighting game lol. You have people begging for goofy characters like Roger or mokijun and say “we” like your opinion is the majority.
yeah i hate that they think they're speaking for everyone when they say that, victor would be way more boring without his flashy visuals and over the top style, they are so out of touch. people wonder why shaheen is so unpopular, and what some idiots wanted for victor is exactly why
The fact that you guys forgot to mention Armor King inn end of the end as potential return since he was at least one of the most played and popular dlc characters in T7 lifespan, didn't get a spot in the discussion 😢. Or am I tripping?
What does perfect blend could mean? Even if it doesn't mean anything, Tekken is not or any fighting game needs to be overly serious,it has to hv fun elements too, azucena is the fun part, reina is the cool, victor is presented seriously with pathetic anime moves❤
“Do they deserve to be in tekken 8” to a newcomer is the dumbest question ever 😂 they’re new! Now guest characters do not deserve to be in the game. Even newcomers deserve their chance more than a guest.
Victor>Azucena>Reina for me. The latter just didn't do it for me. I think if I had seen her 25 years ago my teenage self would have liked her. On the other hand, I don't think my teen self would have appreciated Victor as much either-so a trade, I'd say. I think Azucena is pleasant-it's nice to have a fun/friendlier character in once in awhile.
they chose quality over quantity, Azu, Reina and Victor have a lot of personnality going on. Tekken 7 newcomers were completely lackluster in terms of personnality and overall design, except for Claudio, we had to wait for the trio Fahk/Lidia/Leroy to get good newcomers. Unfortunately they fucked it up by making all 3 of them utterly broken on release. Hopefully the 3 T8 newcomers will be strong but fair so people don't spit on them immediately.
It's crazy thinking that the only newcomers of Tekken 7 that were actually decent happened to be DLC characters lol. Because yeah, Fahk, Leroy, and to an extent Lidia actually felt like actual TEKKEN characters as opposed to the base newcomers who felt like they were in the wrong game lol.
Not including Lei WuLong, Baek, and Bruce in Tekken 8, already tempts me to request a refund before its launch. Some of us love Lei and other classic characters.
I really like all the characters and imho they are all way better than fahkumram, marduk and completely uninteresting chars like bob, gigas and ganryu. But its sad that Lidia isnt back.
Victor=Noctis 2.0, like seriously it's like they are trying to combine Soulcalibur with Tekken. Reina: Heihachi 2.0 with the appearence of older dommy Asuka but edginess of Jin. And coffee girl, well she's just for the lols and her ADHD personality from too much coffee inmo. All 3 could be replaced with longer serving characters and it'd probably be better.

At least he looks like an elder and has an actual name lol
And finally Reina, I'm just gonna be honest in saying that I find her to be the least interesting design-wise.
Personally i vibe with all 3 of the newcomers
Victor and Reina are definitely the ones i prefer the most but i still rock with Azucena
This games looking great.
These newcomers are all better than the Tekken 7 ones who were on the base roster
These 3 characters are perfect. Absolutely amazing newcomers. Well done bandai namco! My favourite is azucena
The new trio did click for me.
Every new character makes Tekken 8
an new vibe! However they also can make a new Tekken Tag with all of characters! For new console.
I will be a little interested in a new character with Malaysian origin with having the martial art Silat along with a Polynesian Character with one of their traditional martial art style
I definitely don’t see the vision with the coffee girl, I’d rather have Miguel
Plain and simple: Give the new entries a shot. It’s way too early to draw a verdict off of 90 seconds of game play for all new characters.
its like we have KFC and STARBUCK
Lidia being cut from t8 is a crime. Her movelist was the deepest and most interesting out of all the t7 new comers.
This is just Tekken culture I love the surprise and mystery of new chars deep story or not. 😁
The Dragunov erasure when talking about T5:DR is heart breaking, saddening even
🤣
6:44 It's like a blend of karate and capoeira
Regardless of your opinion, 11/10 thumbnail.
Tekken 8 is the best game to include Kiryu or Majima as a guest fighters
To answer your titles question, yes. They do.
The short answer is yes! I rather have them then Roger or Bruce at this point! 0:02
I'm a MK fan. Our fandom is full of people like this who constantly complain about little things.
@@salieri89
Not true at all. Don’t you dare say that’s because they were broken because the most broken characters in tekken history were all tekken original characters like bob, Leroy, fakurahm etc…
Then the tekken community has the nerve to say stuff like character like Alisa or Chloe doesn’t belong because the game is one of the most realistic fighting games that’s based on real fighting styles which is a blatant lie because characters like Alisa who is a robot fit right in with a game full other robots, devils, vampires, dinosaurs with boxing gloves, ninjas, and demonic creatures that breathe fire. There’s so much more stupidity that I could list lol but no other community goes this far with their nonsense.
I hope Kiryu will be the guest character
I'd absolutely lose my shit if Tifa makes it into T8. Yes please!
this Luan Jaguar guy is the reason people say things like "Ok boomer"
Anything accept Gon
If theyre fun, yes. If theyre not fun, yes.
I gotta love how Harada was like "I like Peru so much I'm going to disregard some things about the country and make the character a dancing one." I mean, good for him, he didn't go into stereotypes.
what steryotypes does peru have? Peru aint known for jack
@101mrcrazyman I wouldn't know either, but Azucena is not someone you would recon from South America. When she mentioned coffee and was speaking Spanish, I thought she was Colombian, but there we are. Proven wrong by Harada.
@@kotosqoposrly the character is an MMA fighter who sells coffee from her farm. Peru is one of the top exporters for coffee. she isn’t a dancer, she taunts her enemies she just so happens to be dancing
I see that you really want Kuni to return but Asuka and Jun are very different gameplay wise except for a few moves. I'd agree for Kuma and Panda tho (but we need to see their gameplay trailer)
@@heroce974 just like Kuni and Yoshi in T7 they have different gameplay.
11:21 realistic enough for what Tekken has had before
BOXING KANGAROO AND *DINOSAURS!*
Kazuya was my main in T1 & T2. Then he was removed from T3 so I just learned Jin and Heihachi instead.
Kazuya returned for T4. Back to main. People these days are fkn sooks.
@@bryanxo2489
Shaheen is a perfect example of that good point
"We" as in "We at DashFight." I'm sorry if it wasn't clear in the video.
Azucena is definitely the best of the three!!!
Give us GON BACK!
hell yeah i forgot about him even if i read his awesome manga
The fact that you guys forgot to mention Armor King inn end of the end as potential return since he was at least one of the most played and popular dlc characters in T7 lifespan, didn't get a spot in the discussion 😢. Or am I tripping?
COFFEE !!!
No. We don't need new characters we already have plenty. They choose these three instead of eddy in base game. WTF.........
I'm right in the middle between a teen and an adult (21) and both Victor and Reina are doing it for me. They look really cool personally
where can I get that thumbnail art?
Recently saw Collateral. That movie was amazing!
Idk about "deserve". Fans can't get super upset over new ideas for characters. Gotta make new ones for each game 🤷🏿♂️
2:53 T7 had the WORST newcomers! Lidia was the only good one.

16:28 No. You know Gon not a Tekken character right. He's a anime character. Yet we have a problem of characters being too anime in Tekken 8.
1:34 is Me when I lie
gen Z mishima has gotta be the best name ive ever heard
they chose quality over quantity, Azu, Reina and Victor have a lot of personnality going on.
I want to try a new character in Tekken but, yet again, have no desire to do so.
I really like all the characters and imho they are all way better than fahkumram, marduk and completely uninteresting chars like bob, gigas and ganryu. But its sad that Lidia isnt back.
I just want january to come quickly.
Bring Marduk and Fahkumram! Let the community suffer from pressure and tackles!!!
Chucky as a guest character when? 🤣
He fits more in MK
Funnily enough Reina is the newcomer I'm least interested in
Only Victor, replace him with new martial art practitioner or return some legacy character like Eddy 🤔.
Oh, get bent, grandpa!
@@jamesprice6015Ouch ooh, nice creativity. Somebody getting upset over somebodies opinion on the internet, shocker. Listen, at least try be constructive in a comment I am just giving an opinion on or don't text at all. Unlike you not all of us are here just to throw crappy insults.😂
@@podgemac459 Sure and complaining about three new characters because you're too uppity to give them a chance is totally better. Piss off and using emojis is for simpletons.
@@jamesprice6015 "Using emojis is for simpletons" wow, they keep getting better huh. Look not everything people say is complaining, might sound like it to you seemingly but in reality I gave a valid opinion on the impressions they gave me based off what I had seen. For example, Victor is a Soulcalibur type character with the way his moveset is so cinematic flashy based. Which I think he would suit far more. That is the impression he gives me. Now that's not necessarily bad but hey. Now if you can't handle critisism about an imaginary character in a video game without calling someone a grandpa, then probably best avoid comments section. I never said they would be good or bad. Get over it and stop trying to pick fights on the internet. Or you know, throw another attempt at a cheap insult. Make your choice.
@@podgemac459 Man, you get rile up very easily. Have a goodnight
2:35 Katarina is so forgettable they even forgot to put her on the list
They sure do
The way this guy pronounces the names 😂
Jinpachi & devil kazumi deserve to be here more than anyone in this boring ass roster. Ima main Victor only & be as toxic as I can be until they come to the game.
We can all agree that victor was just a replacement for noctis which is cool but out of everyone I’ve seen play him they mash like crazy I started to main him until I realized he’s just a mash character, i I like to pull off combos and mix ups so I can say his mix ups can be dope but they are predictable sometimes his combos are badass especially if you get creative with it, basic victors mash a lot, technical victors mix up shit
11:20 (no offense) if you want realistic go play UFC or VF I'm glad there doing something completely different
Okay, let's hear you out...
They’re all fine nerd
Actually, azucena is pretty cool. Her fighting stance, her actual stance, her moves. But the hyper fixation on coffee and being a social media celebrity is cringe as all hell. She doesn't need to have a deep, tragic backstory or whatever, but what she has right now is super generic, boring ass cringe.
Victor has nothing to do with Tekken, Yoshimitsu and Kunimitsu are the only one allowed with a melee weapon.
