Soldat Promessa | A Made in Japan Inspired Heuer 1153

We look at the Soldat Promessa, a chronograph that is 100% made in Japan. The Promessa utilizes the excellent Seiko NE88 automatic chronograph movement with a column wheel and vertical cam lever. It's a lot of value with a first-rate build quality.

I have 2 seilko's and neither are Japan made, but they are still doing great. I like this model but I wouldn't mind it a little thinner.

Great review. I was introduced to NE88 and NE86 through Aragon watch company. I was curious as to the quality of these movements. Reviews have been mixed so far. Mainly the thickness of the movement as the Chrono functions are additions to an existing one.

It may be a tad thicker but it’s been serving me nicely with the smoothness and accuracy. It just feels premium.
