I love Star Frontiers. A furious combat system trying to mix melee, ranged, vehicle and aerial combat in SF. But there's a generational problem. It's percentile rolls. Your stats hover around an average of 47.5. You usually determine your combat roll starting with half your STRength or DEXterity and then add 10% per level of Skill (Skills go from 1 to 6). Then there are melee combat modifiers and ranged combat modifiers that are in different denominations like +5%, +10%, -20%, etc. You see the problem here? This is two-digit arithmetic but the newer players were brought up on Common Core Math...
Trollbabes’ rules get more arcane and less useful as you read, but I wish every single RPG had a “Scale” section. Even if there’s no advancement in scale as the game is played, just having something that states: “Through your actions, you can affect one town/city/country (etc)” would be a huuuuge help to every GM, and more than a few players who either have no idea what theyre doing, or try to do too much with their actions.
Harper changed the CC to CC BY 4.0, allowing people to even make money off their hacks!! :D
Thanks for the heads up!
An old but gold system i would love to see is the tsr classic Star Frontiers
underrated channel
Totally agree.
Fantastic video! I was just starting to consider hacking L&F myself, and this present much needed perspective.
Excellent, my educational video has provided education.

Well that does sound interesting, I'll definitely check it out.
@@zigmenthotep I have 1st edition which, I must admit, was a bit vague in places, but 2nd edition does sound like it got a bit bloated.
Hahaha! Thanks!
Well it was one of those things that I kept hearing about but never bothered looking into, so I figured I probably wasn't the only one.
@@zigmenthotep As I said, a massive, intricate, complicated game that needs more attention, lol!
I'd love to see you make a Legendary Lives character. Also, from the same folks, a Lost Souls character. Marquee Press. Great system.
Well I did enjoy Khaotic.
Great!!
