For me, more than in 2014 and more than in 2022, if Argentina was supposed to win a WC, it should have been this one. I was more disapointed by the defeat of 2006 than the defeat of 2014. But hopefully Argentina won the 2022 WC. Not with the best squad of its history, but they fought very well. This defeat, the 2014 final and the 2018 elimination contributed to make the 2022 victory more epic !
Germany vs. Argentina were always great matches. In 1986, in 1990, in 2006, in 2014... But the German victory in 2014 was as deserved as the Argentine win back in 1986. In both cases the best team of the whole tournament won the final.
They won the 2022 WC with endless penalties they were given. @1:53 in this match Ballack was fouled. It was right not to award a penalty. But if VAR had been around a penalty would have been awarded.

A mí me parece que fue sucesión de desaciertos, más allá de la lectura del técnico en el momento. En sus decisiones, según a mi entender, siempre tuvo en cuenta la diferencia física entre ambos (los alemanes superaban casi 15 cm en PROMEDIO), y escogió una formación inicial inédita en el transcurso del acontecimiento, convocando a Tévez entre los titulares, en tándem con Crespo, dupla que no funcionó en ningún momento del partido. Por aquellos años (y en este mundial, sobre todo) los titulares eran Saviola y Crespo, y había un gran entendimiento con el enlace y organizador principal del equipo, el Gran Juan Román Riquelme. Sólo más fijarse en el. 6 a 0 a Serbia y Montenegro, uno de los mejores partidos de la historia de la selección albiceleste, sin ninguna duda. En aquel partido, justamente, iniciaron los anteriormente indicados, entrando posteriormente, cómo alternativas a Carlitos y al todavía pequeño Messi, aunque no figuraba en aquel entonces como "el mejor futbolista de la historia" en mi cabeza, ya era una figura destacada y bastante conocida en este "pequeño mundillo" del balonpie. Bueno, después podemos hablar de la lesión de Abbondanzieri ( de correcto partido hasta ese momento), entrando Franco, un portero que debería haber sido la tercera posibilidad en la línea de posibilidades. He leído comentarios acerca de que Abbondanzieri se abatató y exageró la lesión, más, me resulta un rumor para buscar un chivo expiatorio. Justamente el mejor atajador de penales argentino de aquellos tiempos iba a perderse la oportunidad. Quién no siente una gran confianza cuando es que a su juego lo llaman. Pero si, Klose le pegó fulero, para mí fue con mala leche. Las alternativas, según mi propia cosmovisión, eran, en primer lugar, mantener la formación inicial y después hacer los mismos cambios del partido con Serbia y Montenegro. De todas maneras, si ves el partido entero, te vas a dar cuenta que Argentina jugó mucho mejor. Riquelme manejaba los hilos y se crearon varias alternativas. Un placer mirar al último de los enganches, posición actualmente en peligro latente de extinción (o ya extinguido, quizás). El error principal es haberlo sacado a Riquelme. Aunque éste ya demostrabase cansado, la clave del manejo de la pelota, y al mismo tiempo, acomodar el juego a nuestro favor. La mayoría de las veces miran con extrañeza cuando utilizo el término "dormir los partidos". Román te traía la pelota para sus pies, la teníamos nosotros. Vení a sacarmela si querés ganar, alemán gato, lavataper. Y cuando los gatos lavataper iban a quitártela, pasito para acá, pasito para allá, pase al vacío, gol de Messi, gol de Tévez. Riquelme no hizo goles en todo el mundial, más que todo porque se ocupó de organizar esquemática mente al equipo adentro de la cancha. También, creo que todo esté análisis es totalmente en vano. El partido sucedió hace dieciséis años, de qué sirve hacer esto? Ya casi todos esos jugadores están retirados, comiendo asado y con sus mujeres rubias y de ojos azules y también con toda la guita del mundo? que se vayan a la mierda, ellos y ustedes, también Ah. My two cents. 1. Peckerman kept Crespo in the game for too long. He was dead tired. 2. Peckerman subbed Riquelme with 20 mins left in the game. Was he saving him for the next game? This is Germany, a final in it of itself. 3. Abbondanzieri out due to injury. Ok, this was just bad luck. But he did choose his backup keepers. Franco did not saved a single penalty. Third option was a 19 year old Ustari. 4. Pekerman was out-coached by Klinsman, all his subs worked. The German subbed in Odonkor for Schenider. Scheider was too tired to continue, and Odonkor changed the dynamic of the game with his blistering speed. He subbed Klose for Oliver at the last minute. Oliver scored the fourth penalty. Borowski scored as well. 5. Poor substitutions. Pekerman took too long to sub out a tired and cramping Crespo, for Julio Cruz??! He subbed in Cambiaso and missed the deciding penalty. Doh! Milito, Saviola and Aimar were among the players left unused for this game. Yes he was forced to waste a sub on Franco. Still, he had the chance and opprotunity to make the best of it in this sutuation, but... 6. Pekerman left Messi on the bench for the entire 120 mins of the game.
2006 Messi wasn't a game changing player like he was few years later. He's still young and growing, to risk any youth to play under such tremendous pressure like a World Cup isn't a first choice. That's like saying Brazil should've subbed in Ronaldo Nazario (II Fenomeno, who was 17 at the time) in the finals in 1994 against Italy, but there was of little need.

A mí me parece que fue sucesión de desaciertos, más allá de la lectura del técnico en el momento. En sus decisiones, según a mi entender, siempre tuvo en cuenta la diferencia física entre ambos (los alemanes superaban casi 15 cm en PROMEDIO), y escogió una formación inicial inédita en el transcurso del acontecimiento, convocando a Tévez entre los titulares, en tándem con Crespo, dupla que no funcionó en ningún momento del partido. Por aquellos años (y en este mundial, sobre todo) los titulares eran Saviola y Crespo, y había un gran entendimiento con el enlace y organizador principal del equipo, el Gran Juan Román Riquelme. Sólo más fijarse en el. 6 a 0 a Serbia y Montenegro, uno de los mejores partidos de la historia de la selección albiceleste, sin ninguna duda. En aquel partido, justamente, iniciaron los anteriormente indicados, entrando posteriormente, cómo alternativas a Carlitos y al todavía pequeño Messi, aunque no figuraba en aquel entonces como "el mejor futbolista de la historia" en mi cabeza, ya era una figura destacada y bastante conocida en este "pequeño mundillo" del balonpie.
Bueno, después podemos hablar de la lesión de Abbondanzieri ( de correcto partido hasta ese momento), entrando Franco, un portero que debería haber sido la tercera posibilidad en la línea de posibilidades. He leído comentarios acerca de que Abbondanzieri se abatató y exageró la lesión, más, me resulta un rumor para buscar un chivo expiatorio. Justamente el mejor atajador de penales argentino de aquellos tiempos iba a perderse la oportunidad. Quién no siente una gran confianza cuando es que a su juego lo llaman. Pero si, Klose le pegó fulero, para mí fue con mala leche. Las alternativas, según mi propia cosmovisión, eran, en primer lugar, mantener la formación inicial y después hacer los mismos cambios del partido con Serbia y Montenegro. De todas maneras, si ves el partido entero, te vas a dar cuenta que Argentina jugó mucho mejor. Riquelme manejaba los hilos y se crearon varias alternativas. Un placer mirar al último de los enganches, posición actualmente en peligro latente de extinción (o ya extinguido, quizás). El error principal es haberlo sacado a Riquelme. Aunque éste ya demostrabase cansado, la clave del manejo de la pelota, y al mismo tiempo, acomodar el juego a nuestro favor. La mayoría de las veces miran con extrañeza cuando utilizo el término "dormir los partidos". Román te traía la pelota para sus pies, la teníamos nosotros. Vení a sacarmela si querés ganar, alemán gato, lavataper. Y cuando los gatos lavataper iban a quitártela, pasito para acá, pasito para allá, pase al vacío, gol de Messi, gol de Tévez. Riquelme no hizo goles en todo el mundial, más que todo porque se ocupó de organizar esquemática mente al equipo adentro de la cancha.
También, creo que todo esté análisis es totalmente en vano. El partido sucedió hace dieciséis años, de qué sirve hacer esto? Ya casi todos esos jugadores están retirados, comiendo asado y con sus mujeres rubias y de ojos azules y también con toda la guita del mundo? que se vayan a la mierda, ellos y ustedes, también

1. Peckerman kept Crespo in the game for too long. He was dead tired.
2. Peckerman subbed Riquelme with 20 mins left in the game. Was he saving him for the next game? This is Germany, a final in it of itself.
3. Abbondanzieri out due to injury. Ok, this was just bad luck. But he did choose his backup keepers. Franco did not saved a single penalty.
Third option was a 19 year old Ustari.
4. Pekerman was out-coached by Klinsman, all his subs worked. The German subbed in Odonkor for Schenider. Scheider was too tired to continue, and Odonkor changed the dynamic of the game with his blistering speed. He subbed Klose for Oliver at the last minute. Oliver scored the fourth penalty. Borowski scored as well.
5. Poor substitutions. Pekerman took too long to sub out a tired and cramping Crespo, for Julio Cruz??! He subbed in Cambiaso and missed the deciding penalty. Doh! Milito, Saviola and Aimar were among the players left unused for this game. Yes he was forced to waste a sub on Franco. Still, he had the chance and opprotunity to make the best of it in this sutuation, but...
6. Pekerman left Messi on the bench for the entire 120 mins of the game.

В 1990 в финале с той же ФРГ Кодесал Мендес наоборот придумал пенальти в ворота Аргентины. В 2014 вратарь немцев за карате против Игуаина даже карточку не получил.
