Was waiting for this one! If Nike is worried about other brands "catching up" to them like they said in the leaks, this is part of the major problem. When you buy from NB or Adidas, you don't get craftsmanship that is this bad. Even their "cheaper" shoes with "lesser" materials are still put together better than this. Absolutely ridiculous

Word. Every pair I've received from Nike has had some kind of flaw or major inconsistencies, not to mention the terrible materials they use. With adidas it's always been the opposite, good quality materials even in the "cheap" general releases and great quality control
Seriously. My aj1 light smoke greys are falling apart with less than a year of wear...actually only about 6 months. Absolutely pathetic for a shoe let alone a Jordan.
This is what you get when pay people 20 cents an hour to make 'em...
Not to defend Nike but Adidas has its problems too. I bought a pair of Ultraboost 21s and there was a stitching flaw so bad that the shoe was unwearable. And the funny part is, I replaced the sneaker twice and each pair had its own unique stitching issue that made them unwearable. Both companies are asking premium prices for shoddy craftsmanship.
This is the definition of 90's. Love it man. Takes me back to when about 90% of sneakers were dope!

Extremely disappointing. Nike hardly ever shows love to it's classic silhouettes.
They have tons of great models in the vault. But sometimes I think it's best they stay in the vault. Especially if nike releases them in poor quality. I'd rather just have the memories.
I saw the IG story and honestly I was like man….
A lot of memories . I believe that the whole pattern on the outsole used to be known by Nike as dot traction on the documentation that came with the OG Jordan 6 .

When I was a young man I had the black playoff version Pip wore. They were awesome, I wore the soles down till the air pockets blow out. Loved them.

I'd love to know whose making decisions at nike too. It's the 30th anniversary of the 180 and the force 180 pump, and yet nike ignores them. We also still haven't had a retro of the air force 5 highs n lows.

Nike's quality control is in the gutter. Especially with the prices we pay. My pair of New balance 550s is 10x the quality of any Nike i've bought the past few years.

They need to drop a reverse colour way of this shoe with the funky 90’s colours all over the shoe
in some European countries there is already black version with red and blue accents available

Man, this is a blast from the past! Although these weren’t my first pair of Nikes, they were one of my first Nike basketball shoes. I’ll definitely be coppin a pair once the black & white colorway drops.
I used to doodle that flight logo all the time in my trapper keeper. It is so dope! I remember I was 16 driving with my senior friend to the mall so he could get him a pair! I was so jelly at the time.
For how cool the 90s design of this shoe is, such a shame that nike does the bare minimum with retros. We need to hold them to better standards.

Actually played a game in this the other day Im 39 and was running around with 21 years old played my best game yet something about the solid feeling of the 90s shoes that makes me move differently compared to wearing modern shoes. Will definitely be grabbing another pair in another colour way.

I got mine. As soon as I saw them, I got them right away. It was a bit creased, but not as bad as yours. It’s not the first time Nike did Retros dirty. They don’t seem to give a crap.
I had the black nubuck pippens and I loved them! The high tops too prior to those. Those were the days.
That was my favorite shoes back in my college playing days. I always wanted Nike to retro these but after watching your video, I am sure I will not pick it up. So sad.

They need to bring the black versions. I had the Black version of these back in the day. Loved them. The mid version definitely was much more popular than the highs back in the day. These are classics. The Black version was the synthetic nubuck by the way, which in my opinion look better than the white versions with the synthetic regular leather.

I have been waiting on these forever! I had these in the black Charlotte color way. Still have them and a pair of deadstock shoes n the same color way and the high tops you pictured from 1992.

I had a pair in the black colourway back in the day. These were my beaters and my Reebok Pump SXT were my good pair. These were actually way more comfortable and light

My heart hurts 💔… 45 years old and I played a summer camp and league season in these back in high school. Was so JACKED for this release until the “real” product images began to surface revealing what your review confirmed 😞 Even if you get lucky with a pair out of the box that “looks” decent… that stiff material does not wear well at all and will simply distort anyway.
I’ve gotta believe even bad nubuck on the black/white CW can save these for the purpose of wearing the nostalgia. Please do a review if they release those.
Man bought these last few days ago and for casual wear or going on they are nice and fit amazingly nice, as for on court I haven't broken them in too play but I've won them 3 times within this week and we're comfortable

Peppers? These in the fall of 91 in black nubuck/suede coloway. Remember clearly cause I got a whole fit with them lol. Good ole days. Mrs. NW might be right. Try putting your foot in it or a shoe tree to straighten out the uppers. Worth a shot. I love the flight lites. Def gonna try to get these in the collection.

I actually had the black and teal pair as well I believe that was the first black version that came out, but my Nike emblem was defective so I took them back to the store and the store had the Black and White version which I sort of liked a little bit better and got those.
Wow this video was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, from excited about a sneaker to absolute disappointment all within 8mins. Also there was the added emotion of betrayal with thinking that Wesley Snipes wore these as Nike's product description claimed that this sneaker was the ''90s hoops shoe that ruled both the b-ball court and the big screen'. I'm still waiting for my pair to arrive & really hope that it doesn't arrive in some hideous quality control defying mess. Thanks for another honest & entertaining review Chris
I had the black/maroon (suede) pair .. pippen wore them. I remember my mom got em for me at dillards clearance bins. No box, but man they were so good!
I had the original Flight Lite back when I was a freshman in high school, back then the Flights were second only to the Jordans honestly. I had the Sonic Flight too, and the Maestro 2 and the Swift Flight.

I had this shoe in dark gray/black back in 1993. I can't find any pics online of that color way, but I know it existed. Would love it if they released that color way.

Damn! That upper reminds me of the white red 89s you put up a while ago. When the 89s came out almost 2 years ago I checked them out at Footlocker and didn't buy a pair because the feel were way off. Thanks for letting us all know!
I feel your pain Chris. I've bought 3 pairs of Jordans this year and I've had issues with the left foot on all 3 pairs! I think they pick people to troll.
I remember, I had the original Air Flight 1s in high school, wore them for basketball. I had the all black with white swoosh, basically the color Scottie wore during the Bulls first title run. I loved the no swoosh on the inside, also so freaking comfortable and light. I am holding out hope that Nike retros those again. I did have the AFL 2s, but I have them in all black with blue trim, not really my favorite, they were ok, I am just a sucker for no swooshes on the inside of the shoe. I have been thinking about getting these, but if they all come like that, I will probably pass. I want Nike to retro more 90s and late 80s shoes (AFIII, Carnivore, Huarache BBall).

The best thing about my favorite pair, the grey Solo Flight 1991’s was the quality of the nubuck… So I hope they would give those premium treatment. The modern retros in the Flight line all seem to have deplorable material quality. 😬
This is why when it comes to white sneaks, gotta run with the Superstar. Quality is always there and the leather is LEATHER.

I tried on a pair today and they feel great. They’re going for like $80 on StockX so I’ll buy around Christmas time. I ordered the Air Jordan 7 Cardinal so I want to wait before buying another shoe.
Just got this in a black, purple and blue and they were in great shape. They are indeed super light, cozy and right on the size. I blindly ordered an 11 (my standard) and they are great.
Sad that the bottom patch isn't more than the form but it doesn't seem too bad, also a bit sad to see non-real leather or even a good quality material and instead have it be this cheap. Lastly being in Canada I had to pay $160 for these...I love 'em but damn, Nike needs to do more.
Also hope they re-release my other favs of this era like the Air bound, air maestro low, and the air spat
The NIKE LWP days were dope. They all felt like playing in lightweight foam shoes. My older bro always had them when they came out, cuz he was on the HS bball team. I had to rock them second hand. They kinda stunk, but felt great!

I just got the light blue ones. They were placed in the box like they didn't care when they packed them. They were kinda smashed at the toe, and there was glue spots like they didn't care when they did the job. Someone was in a rush when they made them

I just bought a pair mine are not the greatest but they're decent had them in the 90s so my main reason for buying bcuz they're classic I'm 46 and I like that era 80s and 90s of nike was the best the shoes were made with love if you look at the show martin ,inliving color do the right thing fresh prince of belair nike was at the peak n better than any shoes out there I would love to see the 1989 solo flights nike come back

If you get em in the white/red colorway they have a Pippen logo on the insole.
Hey bro… I just received mine from Nike and they didn’t come with that dent like yours did, they actually look perfect. I believe the problem was the person from where you got them from especially if he is telling you they all look like that…
The retailers get them from Nike so it would ultimately be a Nike issue. It's great that you've gotten a good looking pair, but we have received many emails and DM's showing poorly crafted pairs.

Did anyone else have the dark grey nubuck ones with the black accents? No white on them at all from what I remember. They were dope! I loved those shoes. Can’t find that color anywhere. Just the light gray with the white soles. Hopefully they come out with more colors.

My neighbor had the nubuck ones in a smoke grey colorway back in 1992 was jealous, never had these, will definitely cop if they come out in any better leather quality than these Ross/ burlington coat Fila-sh looking fake leather.
had the black/magenta/teal ones in 92, the upper should be that light "durabuck", which the aj4/5 had back then, which i think has never been reproduced properly in retro
