Tip: Winston RIPS thru the steps; to slow down, pause the video (spacebar), then use the ',' and '.' keys to step fwd or bkwd frame by frame (comma and period). Great review of the process.
At 3:29 in the video he points out a built in vector graphic library. Did they remove this feature at some point. I have build 514 and it does not appear to have a library.
Hello I like your video I have a little question so that the meche comes back to zero at the end of the work .must it program the grbl or carbide Thank you
I was wondering if you have time if you could answer a question please. I have a question between making keyholes and making a normal slot (I guess thats what you call it). One of the things I make is where I make slots with an end mill simply to put a washer in it at precise measurements from the edge of the wood. In learning to do both, I notice the procedure is the same? When I learned to make a slot I just drew a line and decided a depth. When I made a keyhole, I drew a line and decided the depth. When it made the slot the router kind of ramped in sideways back and forth till the desired depth. However when it made the keyhole, it drilled straight down went forward, then came backward and straight out. I learned both of these techniques off of YT but I actually don't know what is telling carbide create to treat these lines(referring to the way the path is created) differently? Could you tell me the difference please?
Hi have a question i have a project i made before now i need the same project just with a little changes but i click on open file its take me to carbide create but it doesn't open anything
I see on your start page you have 3 tabs at the top. one is set up , then you have Design , and then you have toolpaths. I down loaded carbide create but i dont have the "Design "tab why is that ? thanks
Just started cnc. Just downloaded carbide create from the link but the vector graphics button/icon is missing...any help out there as incant follow the tutorials..
I have some questions on our CNC machine. I have the design and saved it but having trouble bringing it over to the cutter to cut it out. My new file is not sending to the CNC machine and prints the last one. Also my text is thicker than it was and not the same that I did before. Please help
Will, Reach out to Support@carbide3D.com for help. Please include the file you are working with, pictures or videos of the results and tell us what software you are using for CAD / CAM. This, along with a detailed description of the areas where you’re not seeing the expected result will help us focus our response. Also, be sure to tell support what machine you own and when you bought it.
I have been reluctant to move to V4+ of CC, because so much has changed....(as I was just saying yesterday) but what I needed was a crash course on 451. To be honest, I needed this, and a little more, especially on setting up a new tool library, so I will be waiting for that video. So I can now set the spindle speed and feeds for MY tools, really?
Will carbide Create Pro allow to use a gray-scale image and convert to topographic for Carbide Motion ? Just wondering because Carvewright allowed this with some modifications ....
If I designed a balsa model airplane in something like FreeCAD or Fusion360, and exported a DXF file with the outlines of parts for each wood type and thickness, would I just import those files and create a routing tool job for each one?
Yes, you do fly through the images part, but I just stop and rewind to see what you're doing. It looks as if the ability to import a vector file into my design isn't available at this build (555, I think). Or the library access for images is also gone. How do we add artwork?
In the latest version we removed the fixed, built-in library, but created a growing repository of vectors you can download on our website here: elements.carbide3d.com/ Importing vector files is still in the program, the icon/position changed. It's on the bottom row of buttons when nothing is selected, on the left side of the sidebar. Looks like a rectangle with an arrow pointing down into it. (Latest version: 520)
What is the basic computing requirements, like ram and processing power to effectively run these programs. I have a lab top but it keeps crashing unless I brake up the project into separate files.
The only strong recommendations in terms of system spec we have is 4 GB RAM, but the higher end the better in almost any case. Performance will also be strongly dependent on how complex your design is. Just about anything you draw in Carbide Create itself should be fine, but if you import big SVG (especially ones that may not be optimized, we've seen this happen a lot when people download random Aztec calendar type projects) there will be a performance impact.
Hi I am training to v carve a house name plate I am just getting on my status bat is tool slot number too large block=M6T301 line 11 can you help me thanks stuart

Yes I use MAch3 with cc gcode a lot. You can open the gcode with Notepad and edit some funtions, like I always insert G0 x0 y0 at the start❤rt to ensure machine starting at 0,0
new to this program ...struggling to follow ...understandably you know what you doing but it's difficult to follow while you zipping through the screen so fast with your voice commands lagging
Why do all tutorial videos, this one included put the nuts and bolts operations in fast forward? Its not like theres a time limit. We can skip it ourselves. Im like... pausing every two seconds and squinting. So annoying.
tried following this, makes absolutely no sense how he merges them together. the speeding up and down of the video and the steps make it almost unfollowable for beginners. thinking another software would be more beginner friendly.
Just downloaded the free version of Carbide Create and it turns out it is useless. It will not save a project as G-code. You must buy the pro version for that insignificant little detail! My quest continues.
If you own a Carbide 3D machine you can simply load that .c2d file into Carbide Motion. If you don’t own a Carbide 3D machine you will need Version 7 Pro to export g-code.
@@carbide3d thank you for your quick response. I have a homemade machine. I have downloaded Carbide 7 & Carbide Motion onto my desktop computer. Dose Carbide Motion need to be on the laptop I have connected to my machine? If so I’ll do that and give it another a try tomorrow. Thanks again.
@@carbide3d again, thanks for your response. I’ll download motion onto my laptop and give it a try. - I am just getting started with CNC, still learning the very basics, but I have an observation, Carbide Create Pro is $120 for a 1 month subscription and Carveco Maker is $15 for a 1 month subscription. From a noobie’s prospective “Maker” is a much more robust platform for a lot less. When I’ve worked out all the kink’s and learned what the hell I’m doing I’ll most likely go with “Maker”…….just saying.
This is horrible, how are you supposed to learn anything when he is flying by it and does not really discuss things. You cannot tell what he is clicking on and where he is going to get things.

Play at 75%
@@JohnColgan. turns out playing it even slower (at 50%) makes him sound drunk 🤣
the software is absurdly simple and easy to use, but it really gets the job done. Its perfect for beginners.

I hear they are moving it onto the launchpad site but there is a very limited number of things there currently
Cool! Will these program work with CNC oscillant Knife?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to restart a job from the same place the cutting stopped when the machine froze?? I have the shapoko pro xxl
Add some rulers with numbers along the grid. Seems that is unavailable. I don't want to count grid lines.

Hi
Does this software works on any cnc mashines?
I´m looking for a software that can creat .nc, .ncc, ngc files
Carbide Create Pro will export .nc files. carbide3d.com/carbidecreate/pro/
why does my router drill down as far as it can go when i first start a job

Do you have a video on how to import a file from a site to use it to create something. Example if you buy a file from someone on Etsy to use.
R u able to save or make a file on a Mac then use the gcode on a windows laptop. Thanks
Yes. Gcode is the same regardless of operating system.
can hdpe speeds and feeds used for ABS???
Thank you so much
Hey look at how fast I can move my mouse in a tutorial!
Yeah, this is more a show-off than a tutorial. He records everything 1st and then read all like a rosary prayer.
Not learning anything from this guys tutorials
No joke. This is terrible. Nearly impossible to follow.
This is not a tutorial.

No linux version. That's such a shame 😩
I am new and got completely lost...TOO FAST!!! help here just put $1500 on a new machine please slow for dummies!!!
One trick some people dont know.. go to the settings and drop the video playback speed to 50 or 75%. It has helped me plenty of times

Talk to fast, run thru the whole thing to fast. Look how fast the mouse moves and don't explain what he is doing.
you go way too fast without explanation

With that speed it's just a showing-off, not helpful at all.
