- NOTE: I've added a couple things I missed out in my video below.
Welcome my fellow Masters to my first Gacha Hell. Where you run out of funds, get chased by the FBI again, sell your house for another waifu who looks like King Arthur and annoy every single history teacher in existence with the lore.
Will Lancer die again? Will we ever get over our Mana Transfer™ Addiction? Find out in this installment of the Worth Playing Gacha Series.
Couple Amendments/Notes:
1. 1-3 star units are very viable and you can always avoid the meta units (I just use them too much myself and it does cut down a lot of time and make the game far more bearable, but you can do without them)
2. Story is gud. It's worth it for a Fate fan. :)
3. Caliburn in the stone is a canon event.
4. Pure prisms help you get materials from the later maps so you may not have to rush story quite as hard as you used to.

One aspect of the game that wasn't mentioned here is the actual story which is the main reason why new players should still give this game a shot. While the gacha and gameplay are not the best, the story, specially towards later chapters, has some of the best writing out of ANY game I've played including triple A titles.
Couldn't have put it any better. Didn't even realize I'd forgotten to mention how good the story was (which I agree wholeheartedly) so thank you so much for the heads up and enjoy the pin. :)
Also, EDIT: I've added some corrections to my video in the description too, including my thoughts on viable units, pure prisms and a couple other things.
I love literatures that has great arrangements and writings and 'am also a casual finder, player, and enjoyer of novel and creatively designed games.
I do not like exposed boobies and prolonged narratives and character upgrades only when there is no any meaningful narrative reasons are play reasons to have them in your game. in this game, their causes are just to bait boys and even grown-up men, and some elements are to prolong the app usage without any huge impact to the whole meaningful player experience. ☺😙☺
Problem is, it takes a while to get through. Singularity 0, 1, and 6 were good, and 7 was fantastic, but I disliked the rest of arc 1, especially the last part. The grinding was unbearable, but I don't know how new players will handle with all the updates.
It took until Shinjuku to seal the deal for me.
the story is trash, the most evil guy in the world suddenly become friends with ritsuka every damn time that's ridiculous
The power of talk no jutsu
Fate: The product of a drunk and high historian who had to make a textbook in under three hours.
Not gonna lie, history would be way more interesring with lasers, lost tech and waifus

You can either play as Fujimaru Ritsuka, or Gacha Obsessed Hellspawn.

Tldr : no, no it's fucking not. Escape while you can
Fun fact: Caliburn being the sword in the stone actually is canon to Arthurian Legend. Caliburn eventually was broken in battle, and Excalibur was gifted to Arthur by the Lady of the Lake as a replacement
Don't worry, I've already noted that a while ago. I did forget it broke though, so thanks again. :)
The sword in the stone is not Excalibur, that isn't something Fate made up, that's actually mythology.
Yea most modern representation of King Arthur are very shallow they just combined his 2 most famous aspects, he pulled a sword from a stone because he was the chosen one and Excalibur which is his most famous sword.
Fate series goes more deeper into his lore sure they gender bent him.
I forgot that was a thing with how rusty I am on Fate lore. And yes, the representations of King Arthur in modern media really didn't help when we're all already separating Fate lore from the actual stuff *cough* Sword in the Stone movie *cough*. I've added the fix into the description. :)
@@TheAniknight I still do not understand how Fate turns Arthur in a girl and somehow ends up with a more accurate representation of King Arthur than most media.
@@tomsthefish2002Someone mentioned it best that Nasu (the original writer) is at his best when his writing is used to critic certain tropes and categorised depictions in stories, leading to irony.
In Arthur's case, the depiction of the perfect king in an imperfect world was what led to Camelot's downfall ironically. By ascending to the throne, Artoria sacrificed everything, even her identity to be the ruler Britain needed to combat the threat of the Anglo-Saxons, but that too isolated her on a deep level with her people. Mordred is proof of how bad she handles certain situations that require intimacy.
Yes, Lostbelt 6 which released this year is one of the best pieces of fantasy storytelling ever, it's just such a shame there's such a high barrier of entry to experiencing it.
I'm only halfway through LB6 and it's awesome. But running through 7 Singularities and 5 Lostbelts + Heian to get there just seems too painful to do again.
@@TheAniknightI mean, it’s not like the other content is bad. Admittedly the first five singularities are pretty underwhelming (not bad, but certainly not impressive for a game with story as its main draw), but from Singularity 6 onward it’s genuinely quality storytelling, even if it isn’t LB6 level.
@@Goldfisher Definitely not implying the story's bad, it's more of a time thing since it takes time to fight through hundreds of waves of mobs as a low level player.
I wouldn't want to clock that same amount of time if I've already done it before.
Losbelt is just had to be experienced to be understood. Nothing does it justice until you play it. And then your a believer. There’s no in between.
Artoria lost belt made me drop the game with its ntr shit lol
I can't agree. You don't need to pay to beat the game, you just need to be strategic about your summons and have patience to get the units you really want. And who cares about being behind. It's practically a singleplayer story game. You can catch up with story within half a year or so. If you like Fate and like turn-based RPGs, then there's nothing wrong with getting into FGO. And if you don't really know Fate yet but like turn-based RPGs, then it's still worth a try.
I started playing 3 months ago, the game is great cuz I don't have to chase the meta units all the time, but luckily this year, they give us all the best possible units for a new "meta" and I got lucky enough to get all of them thanks to the amount of freebies they gave away from missions and anniversary. Even though it took me 36 attempts to get a good start from newbie gacha, I think it's worth a try. The fanbase is huge, I don't see this game getting shut down in the near future.
congrats and welcome to the game! hope you enojoy it a lot
Welcome to hell fellow master. May your journey to save the world be prosperous.
The thing that makes FGO stand out for me is they are the only game (I know of LMK if others do) that retroactively increase reaards for what you've done. At the start you only got 1 SQ from just completing the section of the main story, which can contain 1-7 stages. Now each stage gives 1 fragment (1/7th of a SQ) and the section gives xp, materials and pure prisms (used to buy materials) in addition to the SQ.
The one next year is most every gacha unit gives 3 SQ when you gst their first copy to FA (and 3 pure prisms along the way) or a rare prism for welfares and I think 2 of the gacha units.
FGO knows how to appreciate their playerbase unlike other games that gives 0 fuck about playerbases.

As someone who just played in like 3 days ago, I can say yes 😍!! And that's coming from someone who plays GI, Hi3, hsr, aether g, pgr, tof, e7, alchemy stars daily all with modern game graphics as opposed to fgo with its old style and yet, I thought I was gonna be bored from it but I am very much happy with the game and see myself sticking along in the future😊 Just sad I wasn't able to reach some of the anniversary rewards, huhu should have started earlier.
that is the fastest ive seen stockholm syndrome set in
We played the same games except hi3 and e7, i just started this game 1 months ago when anniversary start and already got 3 five star Servant, i got sherlock holmes from my very first 10 pull. I'm also not used with old style graphic but i enjoy this game so far, guess im going to play this for a long time.
I see we have a new player here
My advice when you are starting off the game is to put some love for the low rarity characters (1 to 3 star units) because some of them are actually very viable characters for the battles early on
If you want you can look up some tips for the best low rarity unit videos to determine which ones feel the best (talking in meta perspective here)
But in the end, the most important thing is to really enjoy the story. Early on the story is kinda not that great but it will be picking up their pace later on. Especially after finishing Arc 1, the story really spirals hard and had some real great content to look forward to

@@Shineir Sameee! Honestly can't wait for future patches. Rn I am saving for Arcueid which is 1 yea from now LOL. HAHAHAHA So happy with my oberon, np2 morgan, and waver.
I had a very rough start with the first 2 years having like less than 10 ssrs but it made me appreciate what I have more and invested on a lot of low rarities because a lot of them are very powerful if you give them attention. Now I'm on my 4th year of playing and my luck has certainly improved now (ignoring the 900 sq koyan disaster) and will certainly not drop it anytime soon.
Low rarities are great for farming (especially super elephant man Darius, Bunyan and Spartacus to cut down NP time to the bare minimum). Pair it with a support Merlin (or your own) with 3 Kaleidoscopes and you have easy 4 star Ember farming. Swap one out for a ST Berserker for more 5 star ember sped.
@@TheAniknight yep before i do big brain stats for 3 turns using low rarities but now that I have castoria and koyan my farming teams are very braindead😭 although I still adore my low rarities
If you plan ahead you can catch up to the meta. Basically I got waver with my ticket. Merlin at his Banner 1,5 years ago, castoria at anniversary, Skadi through luck, GSSR, Tamamo through free ticket, Koyan this summer with Anniversary gifts, as well as oberon. Basically to catch the meta i spent a total of 60€ in 2,5 years of playing. I spend some money occasionally if i really want a servant but never more than 30€ on a specific banner..... It´s more about the time investment than money at this point.
Also I like the Gameplay and overall design. I picked up honkai Star rail recently and it´s such a clusterfuck of currencys and materials. I don´t know what to do how mcuh anything costs what to do to grind or farm and so on. It´s complete sensory overload whereas FGO is very staright forward and clear
Clairvoyance Rank EX is the best.
You are one lucky bastard. GG for you. For me, I was without meta servants for, like, 4 years (not counting Tamamo since she is more for challenge quests). I got my Waver last year on a spook. Then this year I got my very first meta defining servants Koyan and Oberon within several lucky as fuck rolls after basically obliterating my SQs for castoria (failed) and Melusine (got 1 on the last day).
I am now saving for Rengoku and Okitan. After that I am saving till 930SQ for Castoria. All the history aside, playing without any Meta support servants was really fun. I have to be creative with my roster during challenge quests. So much so that I beat most of my challenge quests using non optimal servants like Raikou and Okitan with Tamamo and a friend's Merlin for survivability. It was fun as fuck. And I can't even complain about not getting Skadi or Merlin since I didn't roll for them anyway lol.
One thing about Fate go is that you can go whole game F2p and don't have to spend a dime.
Just pick your small favorites, beef them up and go. Save your free SQs for a special servant you want and keep going (because you earned lot just by going thru msq part one or buy SQs account which are really cheap.)
I agree, I'm pretty much F2P having only spend money on the very first garantueed SSR banner during the first anniversary. My strategy is basically choosing only to roll on 3 servant banners a year. With this strategy I was able to get all the major support servants Reines, Waver, Merlin, Tamamo, Caster Skadi, Castoria, Koyanska and Oberan. In fact this strategy worked so well for me that I had enough SQ (and a lot of luck) to NP5 my S.Ishtar and roll on additional SSR banners.
I began loving Fate after watching their Fate Grand Order (With Fujimaru as the protagonist) anime series. Loved their individual characters' lore, traits, behaviour and such. Currently, I'm reading historical books because I like a handful of characters in FGO. I think this is a great game for those who enjoy story and character lore over gameplay.

As someone who lost an account due to not saving the code needed for log in, Before you start pls save your code in case something happens. Also, I suggest that once you start do not quit (you can if you're frustrated with the gacha) because you will miss on those limited events with lots of rewards such as free welfare servants, Craft Essences that can potentially help any of your servants, and free sq gifts.
Oh yeah i almost forgot, if you need a push in playing fgo, you better start right now. The upcoming months will be full of events you might have a hard time completing them all (especially 2 years from now where it would take you months to finish all content coming from the jp server if you're still new and wanted to progress in a normal way)
I really like how tight the stat range is for the units. For people who don't want to manually farm once you have a consistent button mash routine, I suggest searching for FGO automated in Google and make your own decisions from there. Until recently I'd point out: well, you missed all these clutch welfares, so good luck. But the game has started reintroducing them on the JP server (two years ahead of Global server) and they introduced a system so that if you roll gacha you can exchange a currency for any mats you need to level up your new person that is acquired from completing the story. FGO cares a lot about it's story and keeps adding systems and incentives to get you to complete it, including premium currency. Every update they make to rewards they apply retroactively as well, so if something better comes along, you never feel like you missed out on a reward system.
Totally agree. Rare Prism event reruns are nice, and Pure prisms are definitely glorious for buying mats you're too lazy to farm.
I think Fgo is actually quite generous to new players starting late. Lots of free sq, and you can always borrow Arjuna alter to carry. And unlike other games, there is always a very solid 5 star on rate up that can help you get by, not a useless-on-its-own, high investment giga whale, team component (even if they are, they are still kinda usable on its own)
i play since around the merlin banner in 2019 there was also a 4 star ticket at that time, maybe even earlier because i got ilya? but these are my first memories. this was such an amazing time for someone that had read most of the vns and seen most of the anime it was really magical to be able to play these characters and this amazing story. i was always in awe of the people in my friendlist that had all these amazing servants that i got to use and i always hoped to have cool servants my self one day. my first big banner i saved for was ereshkigal and i got very lucky with my 90 sq :D somehow this is something that i miss today with an account with every support and damage servant i could want and even 90 sq are just three servants from bond 10 to 11 only the lanterns are too rare. still what an amazing game
Me waiting 2 years for Okita to finally show up in a single 10 roll too after failing every single time before that was definitely magical.
The new servants like Melusine still give me that same feeling of excitement when lucking out though, so the magic is still definitely there.
I am 100% f2p and I have been playing almost since it came out, and although the gacha is a son of a bitch, the game for the boss fights requires a lot of strategy, and it is one of the games that has improved the most in terms of mobile games, there will always be improvements in quality of life, and when they launch a mechanic that requires effort they give you the facilities to use it
It's honestly on par with the 3D gacha games to date with how many animation updates they've done, including Ushiwaka. But Nitocris and both Jeannes still need updates tbh.
Good channel. Happy I found it.
This video convinced me to stick to the anime. Thank you for saving my money.

Also, they just added a free SSR ticket that you can choose from the general pool after you finished Fuyuki.
I'd recommend waver for gameplay reasons but you can shoose whomever you like.
1 thing about the pity, apart from the 1 SQ paid roll you only need to spend the gacha currency worth for 300 summons for pity, since each 10 single rolls/multi gives you 1 free summon. Also, the pity only counts for the 1st time you pull a servant, if you want copies, it is all up to RNGesus
I personally started playing FGO at the beginning of 2023 but quickly lost interest as i was not willing to get into another gacha game that was until Morgan came out and now ive picked the game back up and am fully invested in learning about everything plus my favorite servant is getting a banner soon (okita alter) so i personally am super excited to continue playing fgo
Time to play fgo. Wish me luck 😫
I started playing just under a year ago and even though I rushed basically all of the main story (cause I didn't know how to read ;D), I really enjoyed it but my advice for new players would be only play it if you already have an interest in the fate franchise because it will encourage you to keep playing until the story actually gets good
Despite you can definitely watch gameplay vids and story vids, I'd say it's just different than playing the game itself. FGO has a massive roster of servants, from *0-*5 with unique(?) kit.
It's a huge time investment though. And to grind the mats. Exp. But by then you can use the servant for gameplay, which maybe hasn't been recorded b4. Or looking at your servants get beaten up. Idk man.
See if you can clear difficult Quests without your own prominent supports. I defeat Goetia with Ushiwaka and borrowing Skadi.
Fgo was certainly one hell of a game i still rememer around a year ago i start playing the jp ver 4 month in and i allready clear lb6, to this day i still question how the hell im able to do it
I can't buy saint quartz even if I wanted to because of some crappy credit card error or something. but maybe that's a blessing in disguise as my wallet would be in a coffin if I could spend money
IDK if global version already got this, but in JP new player get free full ascension for one servant, meaning if you get a SSR that material locked behind story, you can use the full ascension to instantly make them lvl 80, and there is also white/pure prism where you can trade it for any materials, including materials from later story
Global has had that for at least a year. I started playing in 2021 and didn’t get it, but my friend who started playing last year did get it.
@@Drakkanoth everyone get free full ascension, but they must use it within time limit, new player time limit start since they started playing the game, old player time limit start since the update when its implemented
@@WhoTao00 Ahh, so I guess when I went inactive for 5-6 months, I lost the ability to use it. That’s kind of a bummer. Would have saved me a lot of mats.
As a F2P who is part of 15 SQ guaranteed summon club. I completely agree with you. It is really hard to put out your credit card
in the end it's about the friends we make along the way.
Aaaaa fgo the game I wish I started way back when. I always look for videos like this when I’m feeling weak and talking myself into walking into hell full of copium as a new player in x year lol. I appreciate the honesty. For now I prob just stick to the anime an doujins ❤.
Back to school events almost got me o7
I started fgo during karnamas, immediately planned around clairvoyance and pity, landed ishtar as my one 5 star from the gssr who, with the welfare servants got me through, every event and story chapter up to and including lb5.2, until six months later when my saving paid off and I now have castoria, koyan, oberon, and still over 2000 sq saved without paying for anything but gssr quartz. My verdict, it's hell you're walking into, but hell can be worth walking into for a game that will last and tell good stories, if you have a lot of free time and can play objectively around saving and pity.
But like, why did this gssr give me summer kiara?!
Hey! Thats hell you walk into
Play FGO if ya'll watched or fans of any of Fate's games or shows. This is just another Fate game with a great story and AWESOME roster of playable characters.

for those who are new to the game and want to skip some hell floor, you can buy an account that is already packed with some nice ssr. it will give you nice start for progressing the rest of the game without getting too much early bad luck.

starting in january. Having fun.
Ps: summoning tickets is the true meta for this game, i can't tell you how many 5-4 stars servants i got from using these instead, SAVE UP ON SUMMON TICKETS!! You won't regret this!!
2:57: Camelot in a nutshell
First,
"Meta" of FGO does not equal "i must have this unit or else my account bricked/progression halted".
"Meta" in FGO is turning your 15-20 minutes ofgameplay into 2 min, which only ever relevant in farm-heavy event.
All unit (yeah, all of it even G-man) in FGO, no matter what star it is, are viable as gameplay goes. You'll even find your waifu or husbando as *1-*3, even *0. This "meta" unit will help shine your fav unit into more viable, and even then you have TONS of tools to turn your fav into even stronger than *5 (Grail, Fou Paw, Gold Fou, Command Code, etc).
So yeah, for Newb you don't need to fear that you'll be left behind or progression blocked coz FGO gives you enough tools to enjoy it.
This came from vet player that doesn't have all meta supp (Only Skadoodle, Castoria, and Hikari Vitch and that's more like coz they're cute) yet my gameplay are always 2030 all unit for those yummy GOLDEN NUMBERS
Well-said. I somehow ended up cutting that bit out by accident while streamlining the video where I mentioned that 1-3 stars are viable, so yes, what you say is very true.
Was going to mention how 3 star Cu is busted as hell and that Honako Green's Cu solos are a testament to that.
And then I exploded Lancer instead for the memes.
Started during saber wars 2 and got my spishtar bond 15 yesterday
Lol i agree with everything you said in the video, it's actually a very good game to play but the grind to get your servants up to steam rolling lvls is a drag, the summoning system is a dragggg with how much you have to save up in order to have a greater chance at getting the banner 5 star or 4 star is the biggest killer imo, sure you get sq just by playing(ftp btw) you're forced to save for months-years just to have a truck load of sq to summons a few times to get.......nothing of value(lmao) and farming skill and ascension materials is also a pain cause each drop is RNG!!!(ember farming is much better now tho with the 5 star ember added so lvling your servant is actually better wonder why this can't be for the skill/ascension matierls too), the game has the best ultimate animations I've seen in any gacha game(i don't play much so i stand to be corrected on this) and the character designs are truly great, i just want the game to be more rewarding to me the player for spending hours playing, I'm a causal player in gacha games where i just log in do my dailys and let my inventory full up with usable things for later use, this game is a chore fest but you can still have a grand time playing, I've spent a lot of time over the years with it and i have a decent amount of servants 5-4 stars and as mentioned with the ember faming being wayyyyy better now lvling isn't hard(just do the same with ascension/skill materials drops too!!) I'll stick with it and take my time with the story
The setting and characters intrigue me. However, I don't want to spend so much time in a grind-filled phone game. I'll probably watch the anime and visual novels.
I've been spoiled by Starrail animations ;-;
🥲
About the new material grind being locked behind story you should mention pure prisms which allow you to buy materials up to 100. Wdym my Melusine needs 216 bells and I can only buy 100?
Don't worry, I realized I missed it. Added it into the description a while back. :)
Fgo gives really good amounts of free sq and welfare servants so staying f2p isnt too hard. Plus theres that 5 star servant ticket. So new players actually have it good depending on when they start.
You can just clear part 1(tutorial) with just support arjuna alter .
HELL begins from 1.5 with forced support.
I played this again recently and right now it is so much easier to get into if you get a 4 star that's really good you can max out your servent which is elizaeth and has been well and once you called fuyuki you can get a selections of 5 stars
Free 4 star at the start is based, almost forgot that was a thing after playing for 5 years. Free 5 star seems new though, is it permanent?
@@TheAniknight you can only pick one of them and once you do that's thay same with automatically leveling up a full servent but it's good cause I have been blitzing the early game

@@TheAniknight oof yeah... good times
I honestly feel bad for anyone who got misled by the years of "gacha hell" rep FGO got just because not touching fgo makes like 15% of japanese twitter over the past 8 years incomprehensible. As they say, the best time to start a gacha game is always yesterday.
But anyways, on topic, I'd just add that if you do play gacha games but really hate the way games have monetization systems that have 50 bajillion item packs of dubious value for multiple paid currencies, season passes that rely on you smacking your phone daily, or having to pay for skins, FGO's archaic but extremely simple system works out better.
(Explanation: You cannot buy anything BUT rolls with your money in FGO, you do not have to think about weird in-game currency conversion systems. There are no rotating paid shop promotions ingame with limited time price whatevers that can bait spending. There is no battlepass system you need to do. There are no significant dailies, your weeklies can be trotted out in five minutes. All skins ingame are free.)
That's very true. You can only buy rolls for the game and not anything else. Same could be said for Genshin as well (but the weapon banner is a thing unlike in FGO where a character is all you need). And as you said, definitely agree that FGO excels in its ability for you to hop in anytime you want, without worry of silly monthly missions/quotas/quests.
I think the main thing is the startup/running cost of the game if you fall to the temptations of gacha hell, and it's truly only hell for (the bank accounts of) those who spent money on the game to try their luck.
In the end, gacha luck is a very subjective thing that differs between everyone, and as such, the term Gacha Hell applies to some people more than others.
5:02 Yeah. Summed up the exact reason why I'm still here. Cheers.

I've infested too much time to abandon this accursed game. The silver lining is I'm pure F2P (not even GSSR), and have most of the meta support.
Me too, except I'm an ex-whale so it's just pure regretti
I just started 2 weeks ago i got Oberon Koyanskaya and then morgan on my first 10 with no money 💀,This game.. the more u get ssr the more it calls you the more u get metas the more u fall deeper on this rabbit hole i cant quit now i should have listen to my freind
"Thats hell your walking to"
@@rawbacon3728 you're basically set for the rest of the game, you don't need to do gacha anymore. You just have to invest your time to max level and max skills those 3.
@@keroro407 the gacha calls me
@@rawbacon3728 🤣
For Story? YES! For Gameplay and Gacha, probably no. Last Year I spent 600+SQ including tickets for Castoria and got nothing. This Year at least I got Koyanskaya for a few tickets, and still 600+ for Oberon and at least got him, but it's still too much SQ spent, and now I'm just saving SQs for castoria's next rerun next year again since i forgot about her banner this year since i took a few months of break from the game, tsk
I walked into the hell.I had to pity back to back Bazett and Oberon. But hey I also got Morgan in 7 tickets so it balances out maybe?
Glad there's now pity, imagine rolling when there wasn't when this game started out. 🥲At least Morgan came home tho. :)
@@TheAniknight true. But now I need Castoria and Summer Skadi and I can finally focus on units i really want. Pity really should be lower, especially since pity isnt kept across banners and once you get one copy the pity is gone
We who suffered more by playing in all of the servers.
I did dabble in a bit of the JP server before outside of Global. True suffering.
as someone that has played fgo for over 4 and a half years and intends to play it until eos, yeah no it ain't worth getting into unless you really love Fate but even then you can just read the story segments on youtube, i will say tho, Lostbelt 6 is some of Nasu's best work and it's not often we get to read official english translations of Nasu's writing
5:39 demeter scares me because of the forced caenis making her way harder
Forced Caenis totally didn't cause me to end up with Solo Heracles that made me use 3 Command spells or anything hahaha 😅
“The gacha is terrible!”
Me: gets np5 summer kiara in only 300 sq
Fgo is the first gacha game I ever played, and the only gacha game I love the most. Other gacha games are good, but I feel more connected with Fgo maybe because of the historical and fictional characters that were all in real life. The characters, the stories, event stories, world building, all of them to me just so *chef kiss*
But to talk about worth playing or not, I will say depend on how will everyone play it. If you play for the story, then you're in a rollercoaster. If it's for waifus and husbandos, also good but your wallet might be sent to hospital. But if it's for any other reasons, then it's depended on each person's tatse.
And to quote this from my otaku pal ol' Blackbeard: "Never, EVER think too hard about anything that happens"
As my first gacha game, definitely have the same sentiments. :) And yes, alongside Genshin, it sent my wallet to the hospital 🥲
@@TheAniknight My condolence for your poor wallet o7

Played FGO since 2019 and continue it cause of the pandemic i had nothing else to do,well im not whale didn't even spent money on a GSSR/Guranteed gacha, pure F2P yes its hard but still fun if you know what those 1~3 star servant can do, highly recommended if you love lore and stuff, gatcha? Not so much got my 1st SSR after 7 months of playing but still fun experience.
Biggest reason might be that I dont see the game shutting down for yearsssss to come.
The question is, Do want those Fate waifus or not? If yes then do it, If no then don't bother
That's hell your walking into
Also fgo not having like an exclusive new player banner catchup or something where they can pull a guaranteed support for one of the card systems is a a surefire way for me to just not recommend the game. It might sound shitty for vets but it's a one time thing imo.
Technically that's what the SSR ticket is for, skip the gacha and get the servant straight up, of course it's not gonna be a newer limited SSR meta support, but Waver alone is worth it
@@mndy129 that's nowhere near the same though. Giving players a launch 5* no matter how good they are isn't going to assist them in the same way having a banner in which players can get one of the card type supports would. Otherwise players have to play the waiting game and wait for gssrs to potentially get their card type support. It's just not friendly at all.
Better than last time? Press X to doubt. Ever since pity everybody suffering to get SR which even more rare than SSR.
Meanwhile me getting spooked 3 times by Percival while rolling for Melusine, then getting 2 Valkyries, 2 Tristans, 1 Barghest, 1 Scherazade, and a swimsuit Shikibu in about 330 SQ with the Anniversary quartz & some stuff I saved.
Have to love and hate my 4 star luck sometimes. And yes I agree. It's near impossible to get a 4 star that you actually want from the banner without the rate up.
And still no Koyanskaya or Morgan🤣
I would never recommend someone pick up this game outside of the anniversary period of the game or potentially new years. Because you're playing a game that relies on accumulation comparatively to other gachas. If you're looking for a game to just waifu collect this game doesn't really allow you to do it as easily as others. On the verse side if you want to partake in the meta you need to be around and ready for specific banners and events.
So what are you left with if you pick up the game at an inopportune time? You're stuck essentially playing f2p with your Waver (I swear if you pick anything else you're just trolling yourself) and waiting around for these banners to rerun so you can get one of the key supports for a card system. Some people might be fine with that, and some others might not.
Definitely biggest thing this game has going for it is that the meta servants last for a long time so investing into them isn't a kick in the balls later. But I still take overall issues with some of the systems in the game. If you miss events that have CES or fremium characters you might need/want you have to wait for them to return or to be added to JPS new evergreen system (f2p servants). It's a game that expects you to stick with it in the long haul which is a bit frustrating.
I haven't played FGO yet but I love visual novels, but so far gacha games are a waste of time. I'd rather spend 100hrs reading a good and dark visual novel than reading the washed out stories of gacha games. Like, no gacha game was nearly as good... And the gameplay isn't good either, it's just grind and difficulty equals farming or reading guides. If I liked grinding I would play OSRS instead. Thanks for coming to my TED talk
this is the hell hole you are walking into..but if you can stay as f2p player to the end...this is a W game😂
so you're also a fellow okita enjoyer
Yes. Dai Shouri is best dai shouri.
Make one Guardian Tales one please🙏.
Top-down RPG gacha game? Never seen one of these before. Guess that's going on the list. :)
Well, the advice I can give to any new upcoming masters who decide to try the game after watching this video is to save your Saint Quartz for meta support units first and just use the friend support system to borrow the DPS you need to clear the nodes. Farming will also be easier if you have supports that can buff and fill an AOE DPS's Noble Phantasm gauge. Supports that can provide "battery" to other units are the key to this game/visual novel.
I play for the ‘lore’😏
No
Hey I said no!
That's hell you're walking into!!1!1!!!
day1 NA player btw
Chaldea < Tjaldea
the only new players fate gets, is people who watch the fate movies or series and want experience having servants, but if you are not familiar to fate, then most likely it is not the game for you, in all honesty fgo is not as new player friendly as other gacha games, i have a love and hate relationship with this game, since i quit and came back, because like you i already spend a lot into this game, i started when the game was just release and the rates was so horrible no pity even a 1000$ will not help you! even if you have 1.5k sq if your luck is E- then sh*t 🤣 but now they have pity system but still not new player friendly, just a heads up 😎
Yes
Is it even "mobile" at this point ? You need to grind so much during events= burn your phone if you want the rewards
Its not that you cant play meta or cant beat the game with out spending, you just need proper planing, dicipline, patience, strong mentality and EX luck. I played since sep 2019 in NA my first roll was herc (dont know reroll exist). Got waiver after 2 months. Got tamamo, Collected saber faces per class along the way. Got castoria, got NP3 muramasa, Got NP7 summer illya while rolling for np2 summer kiara. accidentally geting orion in 1 roll (didnot know how he works that time). Got morgan, koyanskaya. Still waiting for oberon to come but my point is you can get these limited servant even just a casual f2p. And also walfare servants are insally good in these game like saber hokusai (i grailled her BTW)
Yep planning with Clairvoyance and EX rank luck is OP cause I got Merlin in 90 Quartz during Solomon raid.
Meta units do make it way easier to play though, especially in Heian Kyo 🤢. Not essential but once you start with Memelin, you can't go back.
5:30: Oh sh-
🤣🤣
One thing I dislike about FGO, is no fucking support with Play store accounts to this day. I lost four accounts, yes FOUR accounts in four seperate phones because I forgotten the freaking Data Transfer Code and Password and when I write it down, I just forget which book I wrote it in...... I lost so many countless five stars and one of it had the newly Oberon ffs....now I am restarting all over again, with a Tamamo Cat and a Liang as a starter SR.
It's a pretty solid system since you don't lose anything if your Google account gets compromised.
You just have to keep that code in a place you can keep track of. Physical copy is the best since you never lose it, but somewhere a little less confusing than in the middle of a book (I personally hide mine in a spot I will always remember and is easy to access).
Alternatively, create a burner email which you can keep track of and leave it there for emergencies (and use 2FA with an Authenticator so it's as safe as possible)
@@TheAniknight google account is near damn impossible to get compromised, economic collapse is much more probable than that. Unless you click every dubious links in existence with the same password for your every accounts, well.. unless you were a boomer, then you might prefer "physical copy".
So yeah, FGO "account system" is indeed a SOLID system if you live in 2009-2010s
@@fbihere2 Not wrong there, pretty sure Authenticator's near-uncrackable, and you'd have to click on some extremely sus links to get hit by it too.
Had a pretty bad experience in the past with that, so I tend to be much more cautious now. 2FA everywhere and different passwords.
330 pity? Lmao, didnt know this bs so f much pity, its just harious, absurdly hilarious.
Why on Earth would I want to NOT have the hentai part of my game. The hentai is the best part.
