I love the look of the Aqua Torque tires on the Argo. Could you do a thorough review of these tires specifically with an Argo 8 x 8 please? I'm curious to know how stiff the sidewalls are and how firm the ride is as well how well they swim. Thank you from Canada eh!
Very off-the-beaten-path, in more ways than one!! In the near future, I hope to purchase a decent pre-owned Argo if there is such a thing. First-timer, haven't even driven a Quad! From what I've seen, they get beaten pretty hard! My Big question, as I intend to learn water ops.....what depth of water would be "too deep," and has anyone handles one in salt water? I live in NJ, where THE most viable trail for off roading is Forked River, and we have plenty of bays and such. TIA
Depth isn't really an issue, it's the waves, you don't want to be operating in anything more than about a foot of wave height or it gets very wet inside.
@@waynejones205 When we take ours afloat we make sure everyone has lifejackets and the vehicle is well balanced, one heavy lump on one side can make a very interesting ride 😂😂
@@waynejones205 Also if you are relying on the wheels to propel you rather than an outboard which tends to be an after market fix, then the speed will be down to around 3 kts so dont go out in any real tide or river flow.
Ok these tires look awesome, I'd imagine they act kind of like tracks with improved traction but not the improved flotation - correct? Cost and does it make the ride even rougher full speed on a trail?
+Luke Mathers Those are Aqua Torque tires and they have a very specific use. Their advantage is they are basically impossible to damage and require no air. They are very heavy and rough riding tires. Swimming ability is limited and you have to use low throttle. The awesome factor is a 10 but the useful factor is a 3 at best.
The only thing they do well is look cool. I really can't believe Argo is selling the new Bigfoot with these tires. They don't swim, they ride terrible, and they are very heavy. All the opposite features an amphib needs.
@@MaximumOffRoad you mentioned they are rough, which is understandable, swimming poor, definitely with the tread design, works against itself somewhat, but I would like to know if you tried them in bog type terrain? If so do they work well in those conditions, and in mucky condition
@@katotoom356 unfortunately I just don't see much benefit to the tires. They are indestructible so if you are in some type of terrain that damages tires they might work well. An amphibian benefits from swimming through watery mud since they float so really these tires don't even help you much in bogs. Four-wheelers dig to the bottom but Argos need to swim across the top.
That thing is totally badass. I need one right away.

I'm jealous. I need one of these babies bad
argo looks like fun!
don't forget to pull up your motor before you pull out onto the land!!!
oof
I dont want one anymore, i'm good about forgetting shit like that.
@@zacharykendrick2957 you and me both pal!
That’s it. I’m getting one.
I have a 1995 Evinrude 15hp short shaft. Only weighs about 74lbs. Thinking it would be about perfect for this rig....

@neilsbs8273 I thought first about he depth inasmuch as in safety with water entering inevitably. But yes, I get about wave heights.

Wow that's beautiful
Hell yeaaaa!!
is there any option to control a outboarder like by the Mudd Oxs from the driver seat??
I would like to know too
Great video
Like a boss👍👍
do you think women will first learn to work on cars first or skip straight to rocket scientists LMAO!
Let's see it in rough waters.
Awesome video. I wants me one.
Since when can Argo recreational amphibious vehicles be fitted with outboard motors?
They actually supply a bracket to bolt on the back. We made one ourselves with a jack plate which works really well.
What are those tires?
Interco Aqua Torque

I complete understand, lol. They look great but it sounds like tracks are the best balance of both worlds. Thanks for the info!
excellent info - thankyou
Can a little bigger motor be put on it?
Was disappointed dident plane out heh heh

@@MaximumOffRoad well that's really good to hear. Carlisle xt119 would be my choice. That's the last tire I had on my list. Any thoughts?
it S or L motor?
i always thought the tracks what make it swim alot better
I've got rubber tracks with the "low profile" treads. Totally useless in the water.
подскажите мотор с длинной ногой нужно? или с обычной подойдёт
I'd put a go devil on it.
My exact thoughts.
