i have always maintained my stance on this since her rework on OW2 launch. she does not need 3 abilities (javelin throw, javelin spin, fortify) that is isanely whack. moreso, the fact that she has 2 damage mitigations with fortify and javelin spin
yea the fortify ability is a huge problem, especially since she also gets the spear spin, she just wont die, personally, i would replace fortify with something new, maby a charge like Mauga has, she is a horse afterall, imagine Orisa crashing into you like a train or just running out away from danger, it would make her more active as a tank and still give her a get out of jail free card withoute her basicly just going NO! to damage in general, infact it would make her more capable of reacting to someone sneaking up on your healers. the spear is fine, its only a frontal neutralizer, even if i sneak up as a reaper, if Orisa fortifies the damage i do is none existant, with shotguns! point blank!
Don’t know how balanced this would be but I think that making fortify a toggle ability like dm with the cost that it makes your overheat go up really quickly would be really cool and then make javelin spin cool you off more so she plays more like an ability cycle character which will add skill expression into her kit in how you manage not only cool-downs but also your temperature but fortify would absolutely have to be tuned down
Just make Orisa more of a defender, like she's supposed to be. Instead of fortify and javelin spin, give her a circular barrier with four parts (more on that later) and give her a 30% damage reduction while the barrier is active (and make the shield and the hand with the shield on it gold) she still has javelin and infinite primary fire, but throwing javelin will take some heat and empower the javelin making it deal more damage and set on fire. For her ultimate, the four part barrier splits up with one piece going to each teammate, while you become fortified with a 70% damage reduction and less heat generated during the ultimate. Unsure what the max health of the full barrier and the pieces should be but I feel like this could work well at making Orisa less oppressive and more of a defender like she's supposed to be. And maybe need the ultimate charge a bit too and fine tune the fortify damage reduction. Also the barrier will be one whole thing with a single health pool when not in the ultimate.
Well Orisa having the current fortify damage reduction on an ultimate ability would have her ultimate be worthless still so if its too strong then we nerf the damage a bit or nerf the ult gain
she requires so little game sense, her fortify is not used to make risky plays. it's more used as a tool to get away with often bad positioning. She requires much less map knowledge and spacing than other heros as she is always in somewhat an effective range, and lastly, the push into spear into bodyblock isn't even hard to do. and that's the extent of her skill expression: bodyblock. something any tank should know
Very simply rework fortify. 20% damage reduction + 30% speed boost + infinite firing for 4s duration. This would give orisa more ability to brawl without relying on her ungodly survivability. I would also love if they would experiment with giving her less armor or re-adding a headshot hitbox during fortify
I would LOVE to headshot her agian, I hate the direction of anti-headshots they went with the tank passive, I wonder what a fast dr with fortify would play like. Porbably a lot more fun than what we have now lol
My biggest problem with her is that every single one of her abilities slows down the game and stopped interacting with her. Other tanks do you have abilities that slow down the game like defense matrix. But at least dva only has one ability like that. Orisa has three.
Mate forget that fortify removes headshots being able to happen and cc immunity

It would be really funny if she had a charge, and a teammate could ride her since she's a horse

Yeah her ease of bodyblocking is defientley frustrating, and I hope they can make her fortify less of a cure for bad positioning
