@@rachelolufson2961it's really easy. Legit just back and forth HDC in the BLO. Do a SC thru both loops on your slip knot end (start of chain), ch one at each end. That's how I do it anyways. I can make one of these in less than an hour, with a pom, ends weaved in and all. It's a yarn buster for sure. So when I want new yarn, I burn up my stash making these, trivets, double strand kitchen scrubbies, washcloths, etc. I use an either a 6.5mm, 7mm or 8mm hook depending on how tight I want the stitches to be. I crochet tight so I usually stick with my 7mm Clover or Tulip hook. Easy peasy. Double strand crochet has been around FOREVER! 😊
I can't even pay attention to the pattern watching you crochet! I've never seen anyone hold the working yarn with the same hand their hook is in. Quite impressive, I must say.
Great tutorial. Thanks! I've made pom-pom hats and instead of tying the pom pom on, I sew a button to the inside and wind it tight around that. This makes the pom pom removable for washing.
Thank u! Because of your tutorial omg ive lost my mind making 2 hats a day for the last week and a half and matching scarves. Thank u again so much for this
Thank you for your awesome patterns…I have bought 2 now. Love your videos too. For this pattern…you may want to add in the pattern to work the back loops.❤️❤️❤️❤️
You’re such a great teacher! I attended one of your clay earrings classes last year and it was so fun. Watching your beanie tutorial makes me think I can do this - even though I have never crocheted before! 🤩
Just bought this pattern and then used the coupon immediately for the bucket hat 😂 I have no control! I’m so excited to make this!! 😭 it’ll be a birthday present 💕
I’m impressed with how you’re able to crochet with the yarn in your right hand hand while holding the hook in your right hand. A lot of crocheteers hold the yarn in their left hands. Just out of curiosity, did you learn how to knit before crocheting because a lot of knitters hold their yarn in their right hands while knitting right handed
I’m new to crocheting and have the hardest time keeping the yarn on my left hand. It’s always falling off or the tension is too loose which slows me down. I’m always fumbling to reposition the yarn on the left hand. I’m going to try the right hand method she uses to see if I can crochet faster.
I purchased this pattern today! Do you think the toddler size would fit a 4 year old? Do you think i shouls size up to the adult size for a 6 year old?
In a ll my 50 years of crocheting I have never seen any crochet like you . Interesting way to loop it.
I love it!!
I agree she almost has a knit hand method but crocheting . I’m not sure my traditional crochet and knit brain can do this but I want to try.
For a minute I was thinking maybe she was left handed. .
That's interesting bc I've been crocheting for 30 years and have made this same exact hat 100's of times! 😊

@@soulfullydenelle6037 give it a try, you would be surprised how much easier and ergonomic it is!!!!

GREAT IDEA!!! Thank you so much for sharing 💜
I've never seen anyone crochet like this. Very interesting ❤
I thought I was the only one who noticed. Wonder if it is for a specific reason.
I crochet like this too

Hi Jenna!!!! Thank you so much!!! I think you could DEFINITELY do it, and crochet season is here!
Thank you for your kind words 💜
Love it so much but can you tell us how many chains you did?
I love how you loop like a knitter. I'm going to try that
Just bought this pattern and then used the coupon immediately for the bucket hat 😂 I have no control! I’m so excited to make this!! 😭 it’ll be a birthday present 💕
Lovely!!!! Let me know how it went!!!
❤ she's more of a knitter than a crocheter.
Never seen it done this way, interesting.
What a cute hat! Thanks for sharing! 💜
Thank you so much!!!
You crochet like you're knitting .. I knew it looked different from the way I do it.. I knit andncrochet with yarn in left hand

Hi it would be interesting if you tell us what the names of the different yarns you use each time. They are gorgeous colours.
I’m gonna try to make one. Thank you!
Yay let me know how it goes!!
I wanna know how many chains to start with? I cant afford your pattern. But i wanna try this.
I think she talks a lot less explaining.
i think she's here to sell her pattern and she doesn't even show what she's talking about@@cie56
I think it’s a ch of 41 and 40 hdc in blo and do it for as many rows that will fit around ur head I paused the video and counted and it was 40
Measure you head and then chain that size
could you do this with chunky yarn like Bernat Blanket yarn??
to get the same result, i followed CJ design’s tutorial and adjusted according to my hook and yarn size
Love CJs patterns! There are so many free tutorials/patterns for beanies just like this!
Loving the videos can't wait to start! Can you do booties/slippers/socks and mittens?
Do you have to do two strands
I bought your patterns what size head does the toddler fit? I need a hat for a 6-9 month old trying to figure out how big to go
Is one thing of each color enough? Or do you need more? Im ordering my yarn online, so I'd like to know please :)
One skein of Big Twist is enough!
Just a heads up, during closure you said slip, but did a SC 😊
When you start the second time doing the hdc do you still move down three V’s?
No, you’re going into every stitch from the previous row
Do you have to use two yarns or can I just use 1?
Thanks for sharing! I am going to try this. What size hook are you using?
This is a 7mm but all the details are in the pattern if you want to check it out!

How many chains for an adult beanie? Thank you
I purchased this pattern today! Do you think the toddler size would fit a 4 year old? Do you think i shouls size up to the adult size for a 6 year old?
I would do the toddler amount of chain stitches but the adult amount of rows!!
@@crafty_mama_mir ok awesome thank you so much!!! 🩷
Can someone tell me why it’s tight where the head goes in😢
Why can't I find the website with patterns
Which size hook did you use? Thanks
I think the plastic yellow Clover is 7 mm.
Active have an so op fix number of chains for an adult hat? And it's pointless to buy the pattern, I have no idea how to read it
I can't find the pattern for the beanies
I’m about to buy your patterns-but where are your custom tags linked on your website?
They are linked in the beanie pattern! As well as the pom Poms and my preferred color combos 💜💜💜
www.craftymamamir.com
Can this be made without the pom pom?
And why not? Just dont put the pompom!
I can't click the link. Can you just give me the chain number please
She is sharing the tutorial for an idea and some help, and of course she would like you to buy her pattern, so why would she give out details.
My hat looks too long and I chained according to pattern. I'm at a loss.
Your stitches/tension may be tighter that mine! In which cast subtract 4-6 chainstitches!
Can you or anyone tell me why my piece keeps curling? I’m guessing it’s a tension consistency issue but I’m not sure exactly how to fix it :(
It’s normal to curl rows 1-4 but should straighten out by 5!!!
Thank you!! I ended up starting over and third time was charm 😅
