"For your misdeeds done at night" what a joke, that implies done in the dark, done in secret yet these were done in the light, pharmacy orders, nurses, techs, medical records, it's not like something was done in secret at all. You shouldn't get points for convicting someone but instead for seeking justice, not putting someone in prison.
This prosecutor is terrible. He yells at the jury--pointing his finger at them--like they're the enemy. So annoying, whiny, and scattered in his delivery. Totally reactive. How does such a garbage prosecutor become responsible for such a significant case?
I think the best point the defense made is how the prosecution hasn’t shown how long the patients would have lived had they not been given fentanyl. It’s very important to know this simple fact. Their death was already hastened by being extubated, so death was imminent. So did the fentanyl serve as comfort or the kiss of death? I’d also assume that respiratory depression occurs after being taken off of the one thing helping you to breathe, so did the respiratory depression which killed these patients and hastened death result from the fentanyl or the extubation? This requires the juror to take a leap since that hasn’t been proven. I liken to this to the scenario of a car running out of gas while a person is miles from a gas station, it continues to drive for a bit but then eventually just completely stalls and you have to pull over. Would the car stop because it ran out of gas or because you kept trying to drive it to get more gas into it to keep it comfortable or working. The car was running on empty fumes regardless of whether you were accelerating it or not and would technically be no good, continuing to drive it would just demonstrate how ineffective the car is. It would be hard to prove which of these were the cause of the car not working. I know there’s a lot of distinguishable features in this analogy but that’s about as hard as it is to prove WHICH of these procedures impacted the patients deaths
@@jpeezy117 of course not, that would be too obvious. He liked being in charge of how he treated patients. I think he was too into himself, like a God complex. He wanted his practice to be his way only
@@karincampbell9289 Well if you’re god you take things into your own hands and no checks and balances exist. So he put his orders in to the pharmacy and the nurses administered the meds. You can argue about pharmacy bypassing and so forth, yet there’s still a whole other chain of command. I guess you can also argue that god sometimes uses people to do his bidding, but that’s getting into the weeds. His prescriptions went through two different avenues upon which if an unjust act was being committed it should have been aborted by one of these chains of command. All of these patients died without any pain and he saved there life multiple times, if he had any sort of god complex it was that of a just and kind god who helps people avoid suffering. Nobody has been able to prove euthanasia. You also having people surviving for days with doses 3x higher than what he stands accused for. These people’s deaths were hastened by taking off the life support, we also don’t know if they passed as a result of an earlier medication that the life support had simply been helping them function from. This also passed through the chain of command at the morgue and the initial cause of death wasn’t found to be fentanyl toxicity but rather their chronic conditions. To convict Dr Husel is to take a huge leap at the cost of someone else’s life.
@@jpeezy117 If this were the case, I'm sure the defense, The Great Jose Baez, would have tried to call other doctors to the stand to tell how they follow this palliative extubation as their practice. Palliative extubation happens in every hospital across the US, as well as the world. He had one doctor!! If this was a common practice, where were all the physicians willing to act as witnesses in Husel's defense? I have participated in palliative withdrawal in at least 2 separate hospitals in my community. The routine was almost identical, pre- medicate with a reasonable dose of narcotic, namely Morphine, ( Fentanyl has a very short half life, Morphine also has euphoric effects, as well as longer lasting.) A Morphine infusion would be ordered, and once started, can be increased if patients were assessed to be experiencing discomfort, as well as difficulty breathing. A sedative such as Ativan, or Versed could be added if patients appeared to be agitated, or restless. It was an easy protocol to follow, increase doses as needed to provide comfort. ( nurses assessing patients for discomfort by vital signs, breathing, grimacing, etc) There was no need to slam them with a dose large enough to kill an elephant! Families would sit at the bedside, hold their hand, engage in any religious rituals, tell stories, say final good- byes. This protocol allowed patients to remain calm and comfortable, while family was able to have this time for their final moments. This protocol was both ethical, and legal. And this is how it is done throughout the US. If Dr. Husel's technique was an acceptable way to provide palliative extubation, where were all the physicians who could have backed up his technique. And you better believe Jose looked and looked for other physicians who could say under oath they practiced palliative extubation this way. There was one doctor he called. ONE! And listening to him made me laugh out loud.
This Ada makes me sick man! I can’t stand him! He’d rather a person lay there like that and die a slow agonizing petrifying death! He’s a real piece of work! Really! I’d hope I have a doctor husel when IM like that! Without a doubt!!!
I loathe the prosecution, but have grudging respect for his work today. He boiled his side down better and rebutted pretty furiously. Baez was in the weeds a bit. Hopefully the jury will see that even if Husel intended to hasten death-which is done everywhere, but no one talks about it because it’s taboo-there’s no way to know if he did.
So interesting that the Vanderbilt RN is done with her trial & heading to prison for a medication error resulting in death. Yet here we are with Dr Husel. I'm a hospital RN & fully understand both situations.

2:42:55 Baez: "It's what anyone would want for themselves". No, sir, it is NOT! And don't speak for me. If we allow this Doctor to get away with this, it sets a precedent that will surely be taken advantage of later when another doctor (or healthcare provider) takes it upon him/herself to do the same thing! Maybe when the patient isn't actually terminal!
Meh.... lol your name says it all, meh! You seem to be the only one honey! Speaking for yourself is probably best. Stay home and croak, choice is yours. We all know the truth about what we want.
Giving palliative and comfort care is possible without killing someone. Small doses would have provided comfort, and small doses can be repeated as needed. It's not either or, it's start small, increase as needed. Believe me it works, I've seen it and have been a participant in palliative extubation, and gave pain medications, increasing the dose as needed. Their death was peaceful, and family was able to spend time with them instead of immediate death. Low dose narcotics can and will work to keep patients comfortable.
He is guilty, I just don't know what he was thinking! I still stand behind my theory that he was an arrogant doctor, who was not going to let some institution tell him how to practice.
Sorry! Don't cry too long. Maybe you can go testify at a civil trial since you apparently know what he was thinking. I believe but don't know, that He knew good and well that these people would possibly, peacefully go to sleep and never wake up instead of laying there slowly struggling to breathe and in pain. At most he is guilty of reckless homicide/manslaughter for over prescribing(even tho there are many who prescribe just as much or even more) but definitely not murder. They overreached and tried to make an example and lost and honestly if you go back and watch the detective on his testimony buy he did a horrible job and it was quite clear watching his testimony he was going to push to arrest and the DA wanted to charge no matter what.

Wow. You have the complete opposite opinion as I have. I think Husel was a rare doctor that was compassionate enough to not have his patients suffer. My best friend was dying of cancer and on hospice care at her home. I was in charge of giving her morphine in her late stage of dying. She was comatose in my opinion for 10 days, but I was still given the morphine. I gave it in drops under her tongue every four hours because I didn’t know if she was in pain or not. No one can know what a dying patient feels if they can’t speak. I would have given her more if I knew she was in pain but I didn’t have experience in such things like Dr. Husel likely had. 3:23:00 Baldy is disgustingly rude and has zero respect, and that is WITHOUT REASONABLE DOUBT!
And the same can be said about you! Just like you know what the defense lawyers name is you know what the prosecutors name is…why the rude comments pertaining to him not having hair? Is that how we should address people by their appearance? Isn’t it considered rude and having zero disrespect on your part to address someone in that manner ? Sounds very rude, disrespectful and bullying to me and a lot of other people?
*Mr. ZION* you spoke about doing "dirt in Franklin county, you're gonna call em on it"....
What about all the dirt in your "prosecutors office"?! Wheres that accountability for Your coworker whom was merely detained for dui along with multiple property damage incidents etc. ((*the man even pissed himself*)) and the police in Columbus let him go home with his son.
Wheres accountability? Im sorry, there must be a disconnect, because you have totally put me off in EVER giving you or any of your coworkers any credit let alone respect, you have no ethics or moral compass and your entire office should be ashamed.
To those who live in and around franklin county should be very concerned and vocal about this crap! Trying to convince people this doctor tried and was successful at murdering patients he helped die with peace and some dignity, when the same folks pushing and toting bs are the exact same ones who have the back and is led by a criminal/alcoholic (by his sons own recorded statement when police let him pick up the father off the side of the road). Wheres the justice? That man hit at least 2 light poles and by the grace of God it stopped his vehicle, he was called in by others who were put in danger and id say 99.995% have no clue bc franklin co/columbus pd and media have been silent on it, (look to lackluster and a few others who debuted the body cam evidence).
😂😂 justice, accountability, respect, peace keepers, public servant--- thats hogwash.
Dr. William Husel is an amazing doctor and the families and hospital should be held accountable for trying to hang him out to dry eith by way of placing blame, trying to cover their own back sides or even to make money off of a death.
Not guilty!!
Jesus christ find one doctor that is there for us old folks and to give us relief and they want to jail him . Good God, give me a break. I might need help to stay out of pain. Yhank God for the tipping dose. Sign me up.
3:54:00 Baldy desperately needs a chill pill 💊
Why the name calling?? Let’s be mature and professional here.. How would you liked to be addressed by someone rudely pointing you out by your visual appearance? Would that be okay with you if someone was being rude or disrespectful towards you? When is that ever okay to be bullied or ridiculed by anyone?
Jose pulled the Johnny Cochran “if you can’t trust the messenger, you can’t trust the message.” Chess move.
What did Baldy say just before the break???
Yawn yawn, the prosecutor lost me the moment he opened his whining mouth! Man he’s boring!
Letting you no,about war,
Thank God, no thanks to this judge, that this man was acquitted!
Obvious the judge? didn't like the brilliant defense attorney.
That made me rile up also.
He stacks and restocks. I couldn’t see anything he did with them.
Jose Baez is the GOAT .. seriously, he gets everyone off its wild
Relevant? Noooo it’s about balloons
This prosecutor is terrible. He yells at the jury--pointing his finger at them--like they're the enemy. So annoying, whiny, and scattered in his delivery. Totally reactive. How does such a garbage prosecutor become responsible for such a significant case?
Hahahahaha Jose Baez is an absolute savage!! #NOTGUILTY
How often does that stupid judge need to stack his papers, what a jerk!
Prosecution is angry and desperate.
But would you add water to the gas tank? It would for sure stop working then, and suffer irreversible damage.
@@karincampbell9289 No, just like Dr Husel gave fentanyl, not arsenic.
A single word, such as "purpose", cannot be misleading.
This Ada makes me sick man! I can’t stand him! He’d rather a person lay there like that and die a slow agonizing petrifying death! He’s a real piece of work! Really! I’d hope I have a doctor husel when IM like that! Without a doubt!!!
The judge needs to hold still I am sure the jury seems him move as if he is bored
He’s trying to stay awake. He’s been sleepy the whole trial.
The Official Dr. Husel Page is on FB. Request to be added if you have FB.
I thought Baez did a antastic job!!
How is it possible that the lawsuit continues while an affadavid (request to disquslify the judge) has been filed ??
That's why we had ti wait a week. They found the judge was fine to continue
@@JS-csnjjip Thank you.
I don’t really like the Judge, but the jury sees everything!
@@melb2258 not to mention they had to kick a jusy off today because he made comments about the motion to dismiss the judge.
Remember guys, this Judge is up for re-election
So interesting that the Vanderbilt RN is done with her trial & heading to prison for a medication error resulting in death. Yet here we are with Dr Husel. I'm a hospital RN & fully understand both situations.
The judge back there constantly slamming papers🙄🤣🤣 don't get jealous judge. Stop hating on Baez. We saw you constantly side with the State. We see you 👀
Ok edit: the judge ain't so bad. There's things I like about him and things I don't, but at least in regards to this part of the closing, he seems fair
Gosh, even I know what a max dose of Fentanyl, Versed and Dilaudid is. It is whatever will cause harm to your patient.
And who knows best what that is? The doctor at bedside, not you Karen.
Another Biaz WIN!! Dude is a BOSS
"Done at night!

1:15:20 OUTBURST by badly 😂😂😂😂😂
Worst judge like ever.
Worst sentence like ever
This prosecutor acts and sounds very angry
He acts like a spoiled toddler. I absolutely cannot stand him! I've never been so angered by the prosecution as much as this case and the one that kept saying a domestic violence victim "brought a gun to a fist fight" with her abusive husband. 😒
@Meh you don’t sound very intelligent lol.
@@TheDowntown02 People on here are so polite! And not judgy! Wow! I'm glad I shared my OPINION.
If u have family around they will abide by ur wishes. A precedent? Nah.
So much posturing during this trial. It's disgusting.
Jose is the bomb love him. Dr. Husel is NOT GUILTY, this judge is horrible, bad attitude.
1:
I hope the jury can see through the defense’s smoke screens and find Dr. Hubris guilty!
He is guilty, I just don't know what he was thinking! I still stand behind my theory that he was an arrogant doctor, who was not going to let some institution tell him how to practice.
@@karincampbell9289 exactly
@@griffisjm as long as he can never touch another patient, I will be pleased. Hope he has to find a job at Wal Mart!
@@karincampbell9289 wow, so a person is considered innocent, not a hung jury but actually innocent, meaning insufficient evidence to prove any wrongdoing, yet you want to not only ignore that and maintain the delusion that you really know what happened, act as if only the world could be as enlightened as you and on top of that wish unjustified hardship on an individual who for all intents and purposes did nothing wrong. You, ma'am, are despicable and I think you misspelled your name with an "in" instead of an "en". I sure hope you don't eat that attitude one day with one of your loved ones.
GUILTY AS CHARGED 🤷🏿♀️
You must not have listened or understood the evidence. The cause of death in all these people were their fatal diseases and on top of that removing the only support keeping them alive. The other docs let them suffer for days in some instances.
Nice work prosecution, only God shall choose when our time is up. And this man played God with many lives. Must have justice for the families.
I hope to God my friend didn’t suffer in her last days. I say, not guilty.
