As a self-diagnosed autistic person myself, I found that very important and satisfying (but also, I'm so sad that Gabe has to put up with that kind of BS as a public figure 😞) Ahh, I missed Truth or Truth! I was just re-listening to an old episode of the pod with Adrienne Airhart, today(what are the chances!), and in the Topixxxxx you guys discussed this exact thing! It's interesting to see that Gabe has become less reticent to commit murder and Allison remains unchanged 😂
@@SaltySteff Autism diagnosis is very difficult to access in many parts of the world- the waitlist can span years, diagnosis process can cost thousands, you could get stuck with a psychiatrist in the process who is not up to date with current diagnostic standards (typically failing to be inclusive of autistic-presenting female and trans adults who were not diagnosed as children because of masking). Self-diagnosis is often the beginning of many adult's journeys who failed to be diagnosed as children because of this. It's important to do plenty of research, speak to autistic individuals, look at family history for genetic link, (in my case, autism runs in my family but has only been diagnosed in the men), find autism-literate therapists and doctors to start your journey, if these things are accessible to you. Many people do not have an interest in getting a professional diagnosis because of the aforementioned barriers, but also, getting a diagnosis in some parts of the world can affect your rights and access and can trigger medical trauma. I currently have an autistic therapist who mainly treats autistic patients, and she considers self-diagnosis not only valid, but very important.
Yeah it couldn't be more obvious what Gabe said. They really need to he more careful with saying stuff like that especially going into a major election cycle
what about truth or truth police officers and mental health bc they’re awesome but they don’t wanna be lawyer so why can’t we give them their families equal lives = equality scale it any profession … some aren’t born to be lawyers k now
