Add just a very tiny bit of purple food coloring to a tip of a toothpick into your frosting, and it cancels out the yellow and makes the buttercream white.
yes I should have mentioned that but a lot of beginners don't have purple food coloring so I guess I forgot. But it's a very good tip and I have done it before. Although I don't mind the slight bit of yellow.
I have some questions… How soft does the butter need to be to start the frosting? How do you freeze your buttercream frosting? Ziplock bag? Tupperware-type container? Do you thaw it in the refrigerator?
the butter should show an indentation when you pinch it in it's wrapper. If it's too cold microwave for 5 seconds at a time till it softens a bit. I usually freeze my leftover icing in a ziploc bag but a rubbermaid container would also work.
