This doesn't surprise me. I had a 68 charger almost 30 years ago with a 318 and one day I was late for school and realized I was on E in gas and had no money. I knew my dad had gas cans in the garage with gas in them. The first two cans were empty and I was getting worried. I then picked up a 5 gallon can and it was full. I opened it up and smelled it, it smelled like gas and so I put it in. Turned out to be kerosene. The car ran like shit that day, spitting and sputtering but it actually ran on kerosene. I did find out that since kerosene burns hotter than gas that I probably burned out any carbon I had in the engine by doing this. Once I got real gas in it, initially it sputtered occasionally get rid of the last bit of kerosene but after that the 318 ran fine. Did 100mph with no problem.

I don't want to offend & my english is bad, I just don't have the knowledge.
Before you start it for the video did you rinse the engine with oil and did you "turn the engine before by hand"? I hope you understand what I'm asking.
Because alot of people I met told me with old cars standing so long and then "just starting" it will kill the engine.
But even if you do a rebuild after 20 years, is this right?
I know, fresh fluids like a oil change have to be done before the first start, but what's with the gaskets inside the engine etc.?

Nice glad to see allot Dodge Charger's running still. I had my 69 Charger for a very long time. My late Aunt had it brand new off the lot. And i got the car day's before she passed back in 2007. And i still have the car to this day. And yes it drives good still. It had the original motor rebuilt several time's. And also trans has been rebuilt also. And i had allot and i do mean allot of people tell me to paint it orange and paint it like the Dukes of Hazzard. Nope it's still staying black like always. And no Dixie horn. It has a good horn. Actually 2 train horn's. And yes they are loud to make the person in front of u get outta the way quicker.

No smoke? Should be pumping a ton of smoke after sitting for 20 years. It sounds so sweet upon start up but I think it fouls a plug or 2? Crazy how well these cars hold up down south or out west. That car would be solid rust sitting outside here in Detroit for 20 years :(

Love second gen B bodies! I own a 68 charger.
This video reminded me of the Pontiac Lemans i bought in Colorado off of Ebay. It sat in a pole barn for literally over 30 years with a bunch of other cars. They pulled the car outside and put some starter fluid in it and it started up immediately with a recharge to the battery. Since i have taken posession of it, i have dropped the tank, drained the gas, and did a proper tune up with timing, dwell, new points, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and fresh gas and it purrs like its new which is truly amazing to me. It is still spitting rust out of the exhaust when you rev it from the rusty exhaust pipes, but it runs and sounds amazing for sitting 30 years. For the haters that don't believe its possible to start an engine that has sat 20 years, this is the video of the start up on my Lemans that sat since the 80s ruclips.net/video/WlFWUfj1IIM/видео.html
