I’m 52 and we just bought 13 acres! Haven’t moved there yet, but I can’t wait!!!I’ve been “homesteading” on a tiny city lot where animals aren’t allowed. I’ve still turned my entire lot into a permaculture inspired “food forest”. I can’t wait to add animals to the homestead!
Amazing! We've planted so many fruiting bushes and trees this year we're stoked to have a future food forest. So much less work than a traditional ole garden. Plus, berries and cherries are better 🤣
First off you don't have to be in your early 20s, or even late 20s to step into learning all this. We're 2 years into our homestead, and I'm 45. COVID helped us reach that point too, where we left it all behind to start our homestead. It's been a crazy couple of years of stress, anxiety, hard work, incredible learning opportunities, feelings of joy, contentment and self fulfillment, and I wouldn't change it for the world. And it's like you said, because we decided to just start.
Thank you for this video. You made me cry laugh and feel encouraged to keep going forward despite the ache. Thank you for being real. You both are very kind. We need you in this world. Thank you for exsiting.
Started gardening in my early 20s, literally in a rubbermaid on my balcony. I've started taking it a lot more seriously in my last 20s, and went all out on the seriousness in my 30s, haha.

Congrats! It's awesome, and raising animals is SO rewarding! Enjoy the challenges and learning!

Aw! I'm glad it helped, Deanna!
It's a hard road at times but it's so valuable thru the trials. I wouldn't trade it ♥
